Checking out Harman's Massive Audio Collection at the Hard Rock Hotel
We're here at the Hard Rock Hotel to explore Harman's massive audio collection, and one of the coolest things we've seen so far is the new Citation system. This whole new speaker system has a lot of tricks up its sleeve. The Citation Towers are an impressive addition, offering Google Chromecast to stream high-res music to them. While this isn't entirely new, it's exciting to see Harman incorporating this technology into their speakers.
The Citation Towers also offer a range of other Google products that can be used with these speakers, including Google Assistant. This speaker comes equipped with a built-in touchscreen display, allowing you to control your music from the device itself or from your phone. However, this is just the beginning – the Citation system uses a new protocol called Whysa, which we're seeing more and more of at this show.
Whysa allows for transmission from devices like LG and other source devices, enabling users to send high-resolution 5.1 sound to various speakers without needing an AV receiver. The speakers themselves have a transmitter built into them, allowing you to send the signal to satellite speakers or even use the Citation Sound Bar as an alternative. This setup is both wireless and immersive, providing a surround sound system in high-res.
One of the standout features of the Citation Towers is the touch screen on top, which allows for easy control of the system. You can access Bluetooth settings, check your sources (including HDMI-ARC), and even monitor your speakers directly from this interface. The app that accompanies this system is also a notable feature, providing users with an extensive range of functionality.
The Citation system marks the beginning of the end for traditional AV receivers. With this technology, you'll be able to enjoy high-res sound through multiple systems, all without needing an AV receiver. This makes it one of the most exciting developments we've seen at the show. But what really sets it apart is its seamless integration with Google Assistant and Chromecast.
For those looking for a more affordable option, Harman also offers multi-room audio speakers that don't connect to 5.1 channels but do provide versatility in their own right. These speakers can be used as part of a larger system or as standalone units, giving users even more flexibility when it comes to setting up their home theater.
Finally, we have the Harman Kardon box, which acts as a transmitter for your AV setup. This device plugs into the back and offers multiple HDMI inputs, making it an ideal hub for your system without needing an AV receiver. Since all the speakers are self-amplified, this makes for a simple and convenient setup.
All in all, Harman's Citation system is one of the coolest things we've seen at the show. Its integration with Google Assistant, Chromecast, and Whysa technology makes it a standout offering. We're excited to see more of this technology going forward and expect that Harman will be at the forefront of these innovations.

speaker it actually uses a new protocol called whysa now whysa is something we're seeing more and more at this show and we're going to see more and more of it as we continue a part of that has to do with the fact that LG and some other source devices have transmission of Wisie which allows for you to basically toss out your AV receiver and send high resolution 5.1 sound to a variety of different speakers these actually have the transmitter built right into the speakers allowing you to send to satellite speakers Harman Kardon has multiple different satellite speakers you can use and if you don't want to spend on the towers which are a somewhat pricey $2,500 for the pair you can also use this sound bar this is also a whysa transmitter again it connects to your TV and they'll it'll send this is the start of the end of the AV receiver you're going to be able to have I res sound through this system and multiple other systems this is one of the coolest ones we've seen because it also has the Google assistant and chromecast built right into the system so that's cool and just to finish off citation there's a few other things here we've also got multi route multi-room audio speakers right here these do not connect for the 5.1 but does give you an another versatile way to do it and there's even this Harman Kardon box which allows this to be your wife's a transmitter so you can plug into the back you can see there's a bunch of HDMI inputs there this can be sort of the hub of your system again without an AV receiver because all of these speakers are powered they're all self amplified and it's a really cool really versatile system we think you're going to see a lot more of this going forward but Harman is one of the first to do itwe're here at the Hard Rock Hotel checking
