MID-WEEK 180 - Why was Goodwood Cancelled - Star Car of FoS !

Germany Blows Away Podium Tours Driver on Drive Tour

I recently had the opportunity to go on a drive tour with Podium Tours, and I was blown away by Germany's scenic beauty and rich history. The drive tour took us through some of Germany's most stunning landscapes, including picturesque villages, rolling hills, and majestic mountains. It was an unforgettable experience that left me in awe of the country's natural beauty.

I hope you have a lovely holiday wherever you are right now and whatever you're doing. I'd love to hear about it in the comments below! Last week's question was about who attended Festival of Speed, and many of you said you were there. I'm glad to see so many of my viewers had an amazing time at the festival.

This week's question is: Who's looking forward to attending a motorsport-related event next? Whether it's Formula 1, the Tour de France, or another racing event, I'd love to know about your plans for the upcoming season. Don't be shy – share with me in the comments!

Unfortunately, last week's Midweek 180 went out just a little bit too late, and I didn't get to include all the news I wanted to. One of the big stories was Daniel Ricardo replacing Nick De Vries in the AlphaTauri team. While it wasn't a huge surprise that Ricardo was chosen, I'm really disappointed for Nick D, who only got 10 races to prove himself. It's clear that he just wasn't as quick as everyone had hoped.

The question on my mind is: Will Daniel Ricardo stick with AlphaTauri and potentially replace Sergio Perez in the number two seat at Red Bull next season? Only time will tell, but I think it's a good chance. As for me, I'm gutted for Nick D – he was a talented driver who deserved more opportunities.

The Festival of Speed is always an exciting event, with some of the world's most iconic and exclusive cars on display. This year, I had the chance to drive one of my favorite cars: the Porsche 911 RS. It was an incredible experience that left me breathless – and I'll be sharing all about it in a future video.

In addition to driving the Porsche, I also got to see some of the other amazing cars on display at Festival of Speed. One of them caught my eye was the Hyundai Ionic 5N – it looked like a real showstopper! I've already started working on getting hold of one for the channel ASAP.

I'm also excited to announce that I'll be partnering with the Katron Project and Anthony Janelli again soon. We'll be doing another video together, which will go live next week. Be sure to check it out and give us a thumbs up if you enjoy it!

This week has been very busy for me, with a Kia EV6 GT press car arriving just yesterday. I'm off to see Mgy at Electric Classic Cars in Wales tomorrow, where we'll be doing something quite ridiculous together. Don't worry – I'll share all about it on the channel soon.

One last thing before I wrap up: if you haven't already, please check out our Festival of Speed special episode on the Drive Talk podcast. We recorded it on Wednesday and released it on Friday. You can find us on YouTube, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. It's been a huge help in growing the channel, and I'm so grateful for all my supporters.

The drive season is finally upon us, and I've got some exciting news to share with you. On this Friday at 6:00 PM, I'll be uploading a brand new video reviewing the Scoda Enyaq IV. I had the chance to test drive it earlier in the tour of France, and let me tell you – it was absolutely phenomenal. With its incredible performance and stunning design, the Enyaq IV is definitely one of the top electric cars on the market right now.

But that's not all – next week will bring another exciting episode of the Drive Talk podcast, where I'll be joined by a very special guest to discuss some of the latest news in motorsport. If you're as passionate about racing and cars as I am, you won't want to miss this!

"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enhey guys and welcome to peted and welcome to this week's midweek 180 well I've just about recovered from the Goodwood Festival of speed it was a pretty epic well it was going to be 6 days ended up being 5 because of the festival speed being cancelled on Saturday and I just wanted to mention that actually so so that was a big decision for Goodwood the first time in its 30-year history that they've had to cancel one of the days due to bad weather and it was due to wind and there was a few comments online it was nothing to do with the safety of the cars going up the track the Big Challenge was the safety of some of the structures on site and the wind rating that they were built to and the predictions from the weather forecasters the day before were gusts of between 55 and 65 mph and that was in excess of the speed of some of the structures um maximum if you like allowed um and luckily for Goodwood anyway um on Saturday it was really Gusty and they actually had to get everybody off site at 11:00 just for safety reasons so there were people on site sort of making good and and taking the tops off the top of shelters and putting cars in trailers and just making sure everything was safe but everyone had to be off site by 11:00 and it was a real Gutter and I know some of you had tickets for Saturday the worst I think would maybe if you were traveling and you only had tickets for for Saturday but being close to a lot of the guys that run Goodwood it was not an easy decision to make um and uh it was the right one in my view um but if you
