Pico Dolly Review (Pico Dolly Test) Sony HX9V & Canon 60D

The Pico Dolly: A Revolutionary Tool for Enhancing Video Production

Hey guys, it's Lou from Unbox Therapy, and today we're going to take a closer look at something that I'm really excited about - the Pico Dolly. This device has been sent over to me by Photo Jojo.com, and I have to say, it's quite impressive.

What is the Pico Dolly, you ask? Well, traditionally, dolly systems have been very expensive and difficult to use. But this is a different story altogether. The Pico Dolly is tiny, easy to carry, and can work with a variety of consumer electronics devices, from smartphones to point-and-shoot cameras, all the way up to digital SLRs.

Before we dive into the nitty-gritty details, I want to give a quick shout-out to Photo Jojo.com. They're the ones responsible for sending this over to me, and I appreciate their support. If you guys don't mind, please do visit their website - it's not just about the Pico Dolly, they've got a bunch of other tools that can help you out with your digital photography and video.

Now, let's talk about what's going on right in front of us. The Pico Dolly is actually very easy to assemble. You take this arm portion and attach it to the dolly portion, and voilà! You've got a very flexible, small form factor dolly that can help you get those moving shots.

One of the coolest features of the Pico Dolly is the clamp option. This allows you to connect smartphones or point-and-shoot cameras to the dolly, giving you even more flexibility in terms of what you can shoot with it. And let me tell you, it's pretty sweet. I've got a Galaxy Nexus up here right now, and this thing works beautifully with it.

But what really sets the Pico Dolly apart is its adjustability. Even once you've got the camera mounted up, there's still tons of adjustability to be had. It's just one knob to lock everything in place, and then you're good to go. And if you want to use a traditional tripod-style mount, that's an option too.

Now, I know what you're thinking - this all sounds great, but what about the materials used? Well, let me tell you, the construction of the Pico Dolly is rock-solid. You've got aluminum components or steel components - it's hard to say which, exactly - and there aren't any plastics in sight except for maybe a couple of the knobs.

So, how does it perform? Well, that's what I'm going to show you next. We're going to get into some actual footage of me using the Pico Dolly, and see just how effective it is at enhancing video production.

As you can see from this footage, the Pico Dolly is actually pretty amazing. It allows for all sorts of cool camera movements - pans, tilts, dollies, you name it. And it's not just limited to product videos either; you could use it for all sorts of creative projects as well.

I've got to say, I'm really impressed with the Pico Dolly. It's definitely going to help take my video production up a notch. If you guys are looking for ways to improve your own video content, I highly recommend checking this out.
