**A Review of the Nissan Car: A Hybrid Between SUV and Car**
As I sat in the driver's seat of this unique vehicle, I couldn't help but think that it was a bit of a hybrid between an SUV and a car. But as soon as I started driving, I realized that it actually drives more like a car, which is great news for those who value a stable ride and sharp steering.
One of the first things I noticed about this car was how much leg room there was in the front seats. The seat heaters were also convenient to have, but unfortunately, they were covered by the armrest, making it a bit inconvenient for storage. On the other hand, there were some useful storage options available, such as the glove compartment and cup holder in the door. Visibility out the front and sides was very good, although checking blind spots could be a bit of a challenge. The rear view camera helped to alleviate this issue, making reverse easy enough.
However, when it came to fitting adults in the rear seats, I was disappointed to find that there wasn't much space available. My legs were pressed up against the back of the seat, and I had limited room to move my feet. The headroom was also minimal, making it difficult to fit taller passengers. While there was a cup holder in the door, this added to the overall feeling of compactness.
**Test Drive Experience**
The first thing I wanted to test out was whether this car would drive more like an SUV or a traditional car. To my delight, it drove much more like a car, which felt stable and precise behind the wheel. The steering was sharp, and there wasn't as much body roll as I've experienced in other vehicles. This made for a surprisingly fun driving experience, especially on twisty roads.
I also appreciated how nimble this car felt, considering its relatively small size (3,000 lb). The 1.6 L engine provided plenty of pep, thanks to its lightweight design and low-end torque. The CVT transmission adjusted the RPMs quickly to keep pace with my driving, making it a pleasure to drive.
**Fuel Economy Test Results**
I completed a fuel economy test course, which included a mix of highway, city, and hills. According to the manufacturer's estimates, this car should achieve 28 mpg in the city, 32 on the highway, and an impressive 44.9 mpg overall. While these numbers may seem high, I was thrilled to see that my actual results were very close to these estimates.
What's particularly noteworthy is how well the CVT transmission performed during this test. It adjusted the ratios smoothly and efficiently, ensuring that I didn't lose any torque between shifts. This made for a seamless driving experience, and I appreciated the ease with which I could select manual gears or rely on the automatic mode.
**Conclusion**
Overall, this Nissan car is a surprisingly fun vehicle to drive, especially considering its compact size. While it loses some practicality due to limited rear space and trunk room, it's still a great option for those who only need two passengers and can fold down the rear seats when needed. With its excellent fuel economy and agile handling, I would definitely recommend this car to anyone looking for a fun and efficient ride.
"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enhello everyone and welcome in this video we're going to be checking out the 2015 Nissan Juke the EPA classifies this as a small station wagon four doors five seats and this particular trim is the SL front-wheel drive hallogen headlights and fog lights this vehicle has a coefficient of drag of. 35 it also has little cameras all around it so you can see all four sides of the vehicle from kind of a bird's eye view from inside while in Reverse MSRP as tested 26,500 25 so checking out the trunk you know actually not that big but you can fold down the rear seat 60/40 split and that provides a good amount of additional space so let's have a look under the hood now packaging is pretty tight and you do have a plastic engine cover but this can be easily removed so checking for serviceability you've got your windshield washer fluid over here on the left engine oil dip stick and engine oil fill you've got essentially your radiator cap and then your coolant fill then you have your brake fluid Reservoir your battery here up front on the driver's side but easily accessible and your air filter with some quick clips in order to access it this is a 1.6 L inline 4 cylinder gasoline engine aluminum block and aluminum head dual overhead cams four valves per cylinder turbocharged and intercooled it features direct injection and a compression ratio of 10.5 to1 the engine produces 188 horsepower at 5600 RPM and 177 lb feet of torque at just 6 00 RPM so following the path of the intake air it's First Fed in from the right and then it will pass through this air filter traveling along it will go into the inlet of the turbocharger then passes back towards the front mounted intercooler it travels down through the intercooler and then back up where it is then routed to the electronically controlled throttle body and then passes into the intake manifold after passing through the cylinders it exits through the exhaust single exhaust all the way back and exiting through a single single tail pipe power is sent to the front wheels through a CVT transmission 215 over 55 R17 tires front am back up front 11.7 in ventilated disc brakes matched with a strut type suspension here you can see the steering linkage the anti-roll bar linking up with the strut and then behind that the drive axle 11.5 in solid discs in the rear matched with a torsion bar suspension separate spring and shock here you can see the torsion bar and it does have a stabilizer bar as well so let's check out the interior to unlock it you can use the key fob or there's a button on the outside of the handle leather seats all around manually adjustable okay sitting in the interior the seats a little firm but definitely comfortable you've got plenty of room for your legs you know no interferences around here so that's good now the steering wheel itself is not telescoping so if you are a bit taller and you have long legs then you are going to be a good distance away from the wheel the wheel leather wrapped feels good lots of control on it you can control your audio as well as your cruise control I like seeing cruise control being placed on the steering wheel so you don't have to take your hands off you do have automatic lights power windows and power adjustable mirrors you can turn off your traction control down here now looking towards the gauge cluster up front several settings you can select through so your instantaneous fuel economy your distance till you're empty uh your average fuel economy how long you've been driving two different trip meters so a good amount of information that you can display up there now moving on to the infotainment system here you can see that camera deal I was talking about so you've got cameras on all four sides of the car and you can kind of get this bird's eye view of what's around you which is pretty nice pretty useful and it does also work in uh forward gear as long as you're traveling at low speeds so you've got everything in here you know satellite radio auxiliary you can connect up your phone for audio navigation things like that one thing that's kind of cool is this little system here so you've got got driver mode and climate and you can switch between them so you can see all these buttons change depending on which of these you are in so in climate mode you know typical AC system very simple you've got all the buttons you need and then you can adjust the temperature with this and then adjust the fan speed with this now if you are in driver mode you've got different selections you can choose so normal and then it shows you a little torque uh display and then your battery charge so you also have Sport and then that will show you a little boost gauge so it puts the engine the CVT and the steering in sport mode so the engine is going to be you know your throttle mapping is going to be a little bit more aggressive and then your uh CVT is going to keep it at a higher RPM and then finally you have eco mode and so that puts everything in Eco with the steering in normal and then you also have this little Eco gauge which tells you how environmentally friendly your driving is so moving along you've got an auxiliary input as well as a USB and a 12vt outlet there there's a little storage space right here but it's not very large so there's not many items that could actually sit in it and it's quite shallow so most things would probably roll right out though it does have a little grippy surface to it and then you've got these two cup holders one of them is kind of covered by the armrest and then you also have your seat heaters which are also covered by the armrest so a little bit inconvenient there as far as other storage you do have some in the door and then you do have this glove compartment as well power moon roof visibility for the most part is pretty good out the front into the sides is very good checking your blind spot easy enough looking out the rear is where it is a little bit limited but like I mentioned you do have that rear view camera so reverse isn't too challenging there so sitting in the rear I have the front driver seat adjusted to where I will be driving and it is pretty disappointing that there isn't all that much leg room back here as you can see my legs are pressed up right against this and I don't really have any space to go anywhere my feet are pretty cramped down there also Headroom is pretty minimal so overall you know fitting adults back here isn't really ideal there's not that much space to do it you do have a cup holder but it's just in the door so also take that into consideration and you do have power windows okay so let's take it for a test drive now the first thing I was curious about when I was driving this because it's kind of this strange hybrid between an SUV and a car is whether or not it would drive more like an SUV or more like a car and the good news is it drives a lot more like a car and that's great because it feels stable the steering feels pretty sharp pretty precise and you don't have a lot of body roll and all of these things are kind of a little bit worse in SUVs than they are in cars and so it's it definitely behaves much more like a car and I like to see that now the car itself is actually pretty Nimble it only weighs 3,000 lb so I really appreciate that Nissan you know took the time and really took out the weight from this vehicle it's not a very heavy car and even though it only has a 1.6 L engine it has plenty of Pep to it because it's lightweight and it's got all that Torque from a low end and then it's it's got the CVT which can adjust the RPMs up real high if it needs to very quickly it's actually a surprisingly fun car to drive around both the throttle pedal and the brake pedal pretty intuitive a decent amount of travel and it's not an Abrupt bite that might uh take you a little off guard very predictable very easy to adapt to and when you put your foot down you know it's quick it's a fun little ride so I've completed my fuel economy test course this is approximately a 53 M course primarily Highway with some City and Hills mixed in this car is rated 28 in the city 32 on the highway and it is indicating 44.9 m per gallon on my test SC so very impressive fuel economy numbers it does have a pretty efficient combination going for it small 1.6 L turbocharged engine direct injection and that's matched up with a CVT driving the front wheels so even if this number is a bit high of what it actually achieved still getting very good fuel economy in this vehicle so very impressive now you can manually select the gears with the CVT so you're just choosing ratios and actually it works really well so what's always surprising to me is how much better cvts are at changing between ratios and planetary Transmissions these cvts do a really good job so when you do select between gears it's quick and it's smooth and you don't feel like you're losing torque in between you don't have any jolting so I really appreciate that and I think it does a really nice job of manual gear selection it's surprisingly fun this car I mean it doesn't look like it on the outside but you get a twisty Road and this thing's a lot of fun to throw around now that said I think it loses a decent amount of practicality because the rear seats aren't really that usable and the trunk isn't that big unless you have the rear seats folded down so if you use it as a two- seat seater it is a very practical car because you can fold down those rear seats and you've got plenty of space but if you do plan on carrying around you know more than two people and you've got stuff to put in the trunk you don't have all that much space and that's a little bit disappointing so driving on the highway I've got cruise control set at 65 you do get a little bit of tire and road noise you're looking at about 78 DB so overall a surprisingly fun car to drive gets great gas mileage and it can be practical if you only have two passengers and you fall down the rear seats so if you have any questions or comments feel free to leave them below thanks for watchinghello everyone and welcome
