The Joy of Chatting: A First Look at the Chatter Phone

As we sat down to review the Chatter Phone, also known as the Chaos Energy, we couldn't help but feel a sense of excitement and nostalgia. This unique mobile phone is not only functional but also a rare treat for adults who have been missing out on the joy of connecting with others through a good old-fashioned conversation. With its slimline design and advanced rotary dial, this phone is sure to bring back memories of our childhood days when phones were more than just devices.

The Chatter Phone's design is a testament to Fisher-Price's dedication to creating products that are both fun and functional. The phone's wheels are a clever touch, allowing users to easily move around with their device while making calls. While this feature may seem gimmicky at first, it's actually quite practical and makes the phone feel like an extension of our hands. As we explored the phone's features, we couldn't help but notice that it has a certain charm to it - a sense of playfulness that's been missing from modern smartphones.

One of the most impressive aspects of the Chatter Phone is its ability to connect to other devices via Bluetooth. With a range of 15 feet, this phone can easily pair up with our smartphones and make hands-free calls. The sound quality is surprisingly good, and we were able to hear each other's voices clearly even at a distance. We also appreciated the fact that the phone has a headphone jack, making it easy to listen to music or take calls without disturbing others.

But what really sets the Chatter Phone apart is its approach to user interface. Gone are the days of complicated menus and button-mashing - instead, this phone uses a simple and intuitive design that makes it easy to navigate. The phone's owner's manual is also a thoughtful touch, providing clear instructions on how to use each feature without feeling too overwhelming. As we explored the phone's features, we couldn't help but feel like we were rediscovering an old friend - one that was both familiar and exciting.

The Chatter Phone's pros are plentiful, with features like its advanced rotary dial and rechargeable design making it a joy to use. However, there are some drawbacks to consider. For example, the phone doesn't have any apps, which may be a disappointment for those who rely on their devices for entertainment or productivity. Additionally, the phone's lack of a camera means that users won't be able to take selfies or record videos.

Despite these limitations, we can't help but feel that the Chatter Phone is a unique and special device - one that deserves its place in our lives. Whether you're looking for a nostalgic conversation starter or simply want to experience something new and different, this phone is sure to bring a smile to your face. And at $60, it's an affordable way to indulge in some old-school fun.

In our testing, the Chatter Phone proved to be a reliable and user-friendly device - one that passes with flying colors. We were impressed by its sound quality, range, and ease of use, and we couldn't help but feel like we were having a blast while using it. Whether you're a child or an adult, this phone is sure to bring some joy into your life. So why not give it a try? You never know - you might just find yourself smiling at the simple things in life once again.

need chatter the fisher-price telephone more than ever this is a hero of 2021. he's had a few different looks over the years he's also done some work in hollywood perhaps you've seen him in toy story 3. if you'd help us one toy to another i'd sure be grateful and today he's still out there doing the lord's work of teaching kids what a phone used to do before apps not only was the original chatter telephone your first mobile phone it's got a sorta slimline design an advanced rotary dial colors numbers eyes all good things uh it's rechargeable via usb cable it's got a charge time of about four hours and uh you get nine hours of talk time and uh has a 15 foot bluetooth range so the idea here is that you're connecting this via bluetooth to your actual phone iphone or android in case you get confused not a toy all right chatter let's get you out of there oh give your childhood a call let's get you out little buddy there you go now you're free let's see what do we got inside all right you got your usb charge cable oh usbc an owner's manual oh look out look how it folds out oh you can just frame that it's like art charging okay we gotta charge the back set up oh there's a red power button on the bottom placing and receiving calls oh it's just what i hoped for you get to rotate this baby usb charger input rolling wheels headset okay all right we can figure this out come on toddlers can figure it out we don't need no instructions all right so we have here a couple of buttons we have a lock and unlock oh no i do need those instructions hold on oh it's to lock the wheels okay hello youth are you there all right so there's a power button here oh it's actually also a speakerphone which is pretty cool you have a speakerphone button here oh i'm so glad it's not like buttons it's the real deal what's here oh actually has a headphone jack so you may be wondering what kind of features does chatter have well it has lte let's talk everywhere technology because he travels i mean this is just such a smooth experience and as you roll notice chatter looks you up and down not with judgment but with approval of your decision to buy him really putting wheels on a phone is one phone feature apple has not copied yet so i mean apple did put wheels on the mac pro optional wheels make it easy to move the mac pro around your studio chatter was first okay not exactly hands-free really leaning into the hands on with this design a little practice you should be okay so to reiterate this is not a toy this is a working gadget this is a real item you can buy for sixty dollars at best buy and if it costs that much then we are going to put it to the test let me bluetooth connect this sucker let's let's do that all right you can on the bottom uh this is the power button to get them going hi there let's connect you good to go let's give it a shot let's see if my dad's home three two zero two eight seven seven oh it's so soft hello hey can you hear me hardly hardly you know for the house that's what you're on oh well well i'm using a new phone too can you hear me better now i uh i didn't know how to adjust volume the last time i called you now you sound great i had to turn it up through the phone because it's bluetooth that was one thing that didn't make sense of course a proper test of a phone like this means i need to put it to the kid test what you want me to do all the work even though it's for adults no way but was designed for kids originally three three zero zero two two welcome to verizon wireless we're unable to complete your call to speak to a customer i put chatter through a thorough cnet test and i gotta say passes with flying colors uh if i was ranking the chatter i would definitely give it a nine out of ten the pros and cons uh pro chatter has got these wobbly eyes a rainbow palette numbers definitely good to have more of that in my life cons it doesn't have apps uh no camera at least this phone doesn't hide the fact that it is in fact watching you so i appreciate the honesty there there is one thing i noticed that is a little awkward if it's actively connected and paired to your cell phone well it becomes a speaker for when you are playing music or other videos on social media so if you're just goofing around on your phone you'll probably be uh turning this off you know we're having fun with this here but there actually is a trend happening right now uh with these novelty gifts that give you something tangible to hold while making a phone call that isn't your actual phone now maybe the chatter isn't for you maybe you know this is a little bit much for your home decor uh you're looking for something a little more subtle i would suggest uh something like a banana phone yeah that's also a real thing want to thank you for sticking around on this journey together about the chatter telephone it really is a historical item uh one that is iconic in our culture and it's nice to see that fisher price and the folks at mattel have not given up on an old product and are really infusing new life into something from our past i would like to hear from you uh what items from your childhood would you like to see be made into actual working products and if um uh you want to call me anytime uh i'll be here just just waiting by um by my new friend hello oh sorry i think i have your phone oh yeah yeah i'm still here uh-huh oh no bye-bye bye-bye bye\n"
