**Unboxing and Initial Impressions: HTC Desire 816**
As we begin to unbox the HTC Desire 816, it's clear that this device is packing quite a punch. The phone itself looks sleek and modern, with a light skin that makes it feel surprisingly snappy in the hand. We can see the on-screen buttons for home, back, and multitasking, which seems like a nice touch.
One of the features we're excited to explore further is the HTC Sense 6 interface, which appears to be a clean and intuitive design. As we dive deeper into the settings menu, we notice that auto brightness is enabled, which should help conserve battery life on the go. However, it's worth noting that the available storage space is only 3.37GB out of the box, although this can be expanded with a MicroSD card up to 128GB.
As we scroll through the app list, we're pleased to see that many popular third-party apps are pre-installed, including Polaris Office and VChat. This should give users a solid starting point for their mobile experience. The Blink Feed, which replaces the traditional home screen, looks particularly promising, with its clean design and personalized features.
Let's take a moment to check out some of the phone's key features. We have two browsers: Chrome and the stock HTC browser. While we don't get dedicated buttons for the numeric keypad or take-to-5 on the keyboard, these should still be functional options for users who prefer them. Moving on to the speaker, we're excited to put it through its paces with some LG videos. As expected, the phone produces surprisingly clear audio from this device, and we can appreciate the power of the boom sound technology.
**Camera Performance**
One aspect of the HTC Desire 816 that we're eager to explore further is its camera capabilities. With a 13-megapixel rear-facing camera, this should provide users with excellent image quality. We quickly switch between different modes – including camera, video, and selfie mode – and appreciate the ease of use of the interface.
Our first test shot yields some promising results, despite the lack of flash firing in low-light conditions. As we take a closer look at the image, it becomes clear that this phone is capable of producing some stunning photographs. We'll need to put it through more rigorous testing to determine its full capabilities, but initial impressions are certainly positive.
**Conclusion and Future Testing**
As we conclude our unboxing of the HTC Desire 816, it's clear that this device has a lot to offer. While there may be some minor quibbles with the storage space and lack of dedicated numeric keypad keys, these should be minor annoyances for most users. We're excited to dive deeper into the phone's performance, exploring its benchmarking capabilities, gaming experience, and overall value proposition.
In the coming days, we'll be publishing a more in-depth review of the HTC Desire 816, including our hands-on testing of its camera capabilities, gaming performance, and other features. For now, it seems that this device has all the makings of an excellent smartphone, and we're eager to see how it stacks up against some of the competition on the market.

this device and uh I also got this uh case for free uh fezal Communications said that it's a limited time offer so make sure that you're getting this case if you're purchasing it in India I don't know variant that we have uh and both the Sims uh will be inserted here and uh it says that it has a nano SIM for slot one uh so that is interesting and uh we can add a Micro SD card up to 128 gigs is supported so it clearly shows you the slots again the battery is sealed we have the warranty guide and safety regulatory info uh this is the standard stuff HTC charger uh this is the micro USB cable and uh these are the headphones again ordinary headphones not in here so let me keep these things to the side and let's look at the handset itself so here have the device itself uh the back is entirely made up of plastic it says gray but as you can see it's uh closely resembling to Black I would say this is the black black color I would say it does not look as gray yes this portion is a little bit of gray uh and we have the power button over here volume rockers uh and uh here we have the secondary microphone 3.5mm headphone jack uh this will open and this Reveals All the slots for example let me just open that and it says uh the first s is 3G and the second is gsm and here is here you can add your micro SD card up to 128 gigs so this flap opens and really reveals that uh rear facing is a 13 map camera LED flash HTC branding uh nothing else the battery is Seal inside it's a 2,600 Milah R battery let's try to do the first boot uh we have Boom speakers here also it's pretty bright it says powered by Android uh and the handset feels uh pretty light I would say it's powered by the Snapdragon 400 chipset that's a quad code processor clogged at 1.6 6 GHz based on the arm CeX A7 architecture regarding uh the GPU it's the adreno 305 and RAM is 1.5 gigs uh so it actually booted very fast for the first boot uh this is the first time we are booting this device pretty fast uh let me quickly connect to our Wi-Fi network and I am connected and again I have to say though the phone looks big uh in your hand it does not feel uh that heavy the weight just distribution is well from the backup Etc so I'll just skip that and we can set up our Google account Etc here so we'll just skip that I'll just say that you can name the phone I'll just name it as HTC desar 816 or you can put your name over there so that's done and uh we are almost done location services I'm agreeing to that and actually uh it looks uh it has the same sens six that we find on its elder brother I would say this is the HTC1 M8 as you can see it's bit bigger again this what a 5in screen this has a 5.5 in screen and we have blink feed and this is the HTC S 6 so let's look at the uh Android version and these are the quick settings and let's go to the settings and uh let's go to about the device and software information as you can see it's running the latest version of Android that is 4.4.2 that is kitcat and regarding the sense it is HTC Sense 6 let me get out of that and uh let's also look at what is say the display settings and uh we have auto brightness as you can see here can it'sjust auto brightness I'll just leave it at Auto for now and I haven't added a Micro SD card up to 128 gigs can be added but let's look at the storage uh internally it has 8 gigs but let's see out of that how much do we actually get so let's go to storage Tab and here out of that gigs the available storage that you get is 3.37 which is kind of low I would say uh but you can add a SD card but I doubt all the apps Etc might be move might be movable to the SD card so out of the box you get 3.37 uh GB of space that is available to you uh let's look at the apps what if something is pre-installed uh let's go to alphabetic that shows everything actually yes uh quite a few of third party apps are installed we have this seven digital uh we have Polaris Office 5 that is pre-installed what else uh we have V allow it whatever let's go to tech.com this is the standard keyboard that we get again uh we don't have a dedic dedicated Row for the numbers and we have take to B so let's go there and again let's go there and see I just want to check how is the speaker on this because it has that same supposed to have that boom sound uh stuff uh let's go to this uh LG we have a couple of videos here and uh let's Impressions uh looks nice the screen quality also actually looks nice it's a 5.5 in screen and uh the screen is pretty nice and also pretty uh good at touch uh as you can see pin to zoom looks fine um let's also quickly look at uh the camera it has a 13 map rear facing camera let's see how it handles set and uh the interface is very similar to the HTC1 M8 the uh the new camera interface exactly similar I would say you have this just tap in to focus as you can see and you just tap in and it takes the photograph and these are the modes uh we have the camera video and the selfie mode and we can easily switch between the front facing camera Etc so these are help tools uh let let's take this one also once more and again uh the flash did not fire if you notice but then also looks like it's taking some pretty good shots let's look at it uh this is the one that we took and what else where is the other one yeah and as you can see initial Impressions the camera looks pretty decent I'll be
