How to Record Your iPhone Screen: A Simple Tip and Trick
There are many reasons why you might want to record your iPhone screen. Maybe you're playing a video game and want to share that epic kill shot with your friends, or perhaps you need to show your mom how exactly to do the things she needs to do in iOS because you know she's old. Regardless of the reason, Apple thought it was a good idea to build this feature directly into iOS, so we're going to go over how to record your iPhone screen using this built-in function.
Enabling Screen Recording on Your iPhone
The first step is to enable the screen recording function by adding it to our control center. To do this, we need to go to settings and tap on control center, then customize controls, and finally tap the plus symbol next to "screen recording". Now you can use the screen recording function directly from your control center. If you have an iPhone with iOS 11 or later (excluding the iPhone X), you'll simply swipe up from the bottom of the screen to access it. However, if you have an iPhone X or later, you'll need to swipe down from the right side next to the top of the device to get to the control center.
Once you've accessed the control center, press the screen recording button to begin recording your screen. You can also 3D touch on the screen recording icon and then tap on the microphone icon to get microphone audio recorded in the video as well. This will allow you to dictate while you're recording, which is super useful for tutorials or instructions.
Knowing When It's Recording
You'll know that it's recording by the fact that the status bar at the top of your screen will turn red. To stop recording, simply tap on the red status bar and then tap "stop". This will end the recording session and return you to your normal screen activity.
Playback and Sharing Your Recorded Screen
Once you've finished recording your screen, open the Photos app and you'll see the screen recording in there as a video just like you would any other video that you took. It'll be in your camera roll, so go ahead and tap on it to edit the video as needed. You can trim the video by tapping "edit" at the bottom of the screen, then tap "done" once you've made any changes. Finally, you can share the recorded screen with whomever you want using the built-in sharing options.
Tips and Tricks
That's it! This is a super simple tip and trick, but many people don't know how to do it.
