**A Twitch Streamer's Frustrating Experience with Payment Issues**
This video is a personal account of a Twitch streamer who experienced difficulties with receiving payments from the platform. The streamer, who wishes to remain anonymous, expressed frustration and disappointment with the way they were treated by Twitch's support team.
The streamer claimed that they sent money to their teammate via PayPal, which eventually turned into their own money. However, when it came time to receive payment from Twitch, something went awry. The platform claimed that they had paid the streamer, but in reality, no payment was made. This led to a 78-80 hour streaming streak for the streamer, resulting in 15 streams in February alone.
The streamer attempted to resolve the issue with Twitch's support team, submitting three separate tickets and receiving default template responses each time. Despite their efforts, they were unable to get any meaningful assistance from the platform. The closest category available in the drop-down menu was "Payout Suspension," which does not directly relate to the issue at hand.
The streamer expressed frustration with the lack of clarity and transparency provided by Twitch's support team. They felt that they had done everything correctly, but were met with a generic response from the platform. The streamer took it upon themselves to investigate further and review the categories available in the support menu.
In an attempt to resolve the issue, the streamer resubmitted their tickets and chose a new category, hoping to get someone who could assist them better. However, they were still met with a generic response and eventually gave up on trying to resolve the issue through Twitch's official support channels.
**A Lack of Transparency and Communication**
The streamer's experience highlights the need for more transparency and communication from large platforms like Twitch when it comes to issues like these. The fact that there was no clear category available in the support menu to address payment-related issues is unacceptable, especially considering the platform's stated values of customer satisfaction.
The streamer's frustration with the lack of personal interaction with Twitch's support team is also understandable. Despite their best efforts, they were met with automated responses and default templates each time they submitted a ticket. This lack of human touch and understanding can be frustrating for customers who are trying to resolve complex issues like these.
**A Cautionary Tale for Other Streamers**
For those considering streaming on Twitch or becoming an affiliate, this experience serves as a cautionary tale about the potential risks involved. While Twitch is a fantastic platform with many benefits, there are also some potential pitfalls to be aware of. One of these risks is the potential for payment errors or delays, which can have significant consequences for streamers who rely on their earnings from the platform.
The streamer's experience highlights the importance of being proactive and taking steps to protect oneself in case something goes wrong with Twitch's payment system. This may involve setting up multiple payment methods, tracking payments closely, and having a plan in place in case of an error or delay.
**A Final Message to Twitch**
In conclusion, the streamer wants to express their disappointment and frustration with the way they were treated by Twitch's support team. They hope that this experience will serve as a warning to other streamers who may face similar issues in the future. The streamer also encourages anyone who is experiencing payment issues with Twitch to reach out for help.
As for Twitch, the streamer wishes them well and hopes that they will take steps to improve their support channels and provide more transparency and communication to their customers.
"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enmaking the switch from twitch to youtube has been incredible so far thank you guys so much for your support i truly do appreciate it but there's still one big problem that i've been dealing with for almost two weeks now twitch refuses to send me my final payment and i don't know why what is up everybody how you doing today my name is david defranco if this is your first time here first of all welcome i appreciate your taking your time out of your day to watch a little me but yeah i'm a full-time content creator i do a bunch of things i create videos on youtube i create content on patreon i'm now a part-time gaming streamer on youtube i do website work blah blah blah you don't need to know all that but i'm just introducing myself anyway getting to the point of today's video this isn't the kind of content i typically like making because i don't want it to come off in the wrong way i don't want people to thinking i'm whining i don't know david needs his money david didn't get paid but you gotta understand i mean if you put time in on a platform and per a contract in this case twitch's affiliate contract well you're owed money and if you don't get that money well that sucks that really really sucks and is not fair to you as the content creator so um yeah that's happening to me and it sucks as a full-time self-employed content creator i need that money now more than ever during tax season this is a very very stressful time of year and if i could get that extra money from twitch that would truly help me a lot but unfortunately they refuse to pay me for about two weeks now um so first of all let me back up a little bit every streamer on twitch i believe gets paid 15 days after that month of streaming so for instance if i stream in february i'm going to get paid around march 15th it's typically like 13th 14th 15th 16th it's usually within that five day range and guys for the past three plus years i've had no serious issues i've always been paid here's a screenshot of my history yes that right there that is every single month in recent history of when twitch paid me and if you look at the very top my most recent payment was february now i can't say the screenshot right now but i think it's like february 13th or 14th something like that but that's just my point they did indeed pay me in february and today is march 25th as of this video i don't know when it's going live but today is march 25th for me and they have not yet paid me so i was like okay okay maybe just maybe this is a mistake on twitch's end because let's not forget these are real people on the other side of these support tickets and all that stuff and obviously humans make mistakes i make mistakes you make mistakes it happens that's life so i gave them the benefit of the doubt so i reached out to him i said um look i recently was off-boarded as an affiliate and by the way shout out to twitch support for not giving me a single problem about um you know leaving as an affiliate because right now i'm a non-affiliate meaning i cannot make money on twitch except for if it's like paypal donations and yeah i mean basically like anything off the platform but yeah i'm no longer an affiliate and they made that process stupidly simple thank you so much twitch you guys are awesome for that so i was like okay this can't be a coincidence i mean i'm paid just fine for the past three years and as i leave as an affiliate i just happen to not get paid so i reached out to support um and i got this response basically they sent me the typical reply saying well we set your payment in february or for february meaning i guess i should have received my payment by march 15th and searching my email history as you clearly just saw there is no march payment from my streams in february and well obviously they gave me the typical template email saying well if it's not in your bank yet give it three to five days give it one to two days for a paypal blah blah blah we've all heard it before i mean yeah they just gave me the typical response which honestly does frustrate me because i'm not an idiot i know how this stuff works i'm very experienced on the internet like i know how quickly payments can come there it's not rocket science like i mean guys you're either paid or you're not paid simple as that so i basically reached out to him again saying uh look i definitely did not get paid and this cannot be a coincidence i made that clear you know saying that for the past three years i wasn't affiliates i left as a non-affiliates and now i'm not getting paid i mean what are the chances of that so they responded with an actual responses time i mean it sounded like them talking saying uh yeah we we can't help you any further i mean it shows that we paid you so contact your bank so i was like okay guys my bank has nothing to do with this whatsoever i'll say it again you're either paid or you're not paid and guys keep in mind if i was paid by twitch then i would have clearly received an email from twitch so they say well you can check out your payout history so i go to my twitch settings and ironically i'm not an affiliate so i can't even see how much money i made in february like i quite literally cannot see how much money i made so i don't know how much money twitch owes me i mean i have a rough idea it's between maybe three and four hundred dollars because you guys made my final month on twitch amazing so thank you so much for that and guys this does involve you as well this involves your money that you sent to me which eventually turns into my money and now i'm not seeing that money so where did it go twitch claims they paid me but they clearly did not and to show you some stats real quick i clearly streamed a lot on twitch roughly i strained for about 78 to 80 hours worth 78 to 80 hours now that's rough math but as you can see i streamed a lot i streamed 15 times in february 15 times and i clearly hit the 100 dollar threshold so that is not the issue that is clearly not the issue i obviously made more than 100 so what is their excuse gotta get a drink of water here and yes ironically i'm wearing a twitch shirt it is what it is okay so eventually i came to the unfortunate conclusion and saying that yeah david you're not getting anywhere you hit this virtual wall they're basically saying they cannot help you any further contact your bank when it's clearly not my bank i cannot express it enough so it's like okay restart the support ticket maybe you'll get in touch with someone else because well you never know person a might handle things differently than person b we've all been there right we've all been there sometimes support goes well sometimes it doesn't go well it happens so i did the usual form i filled out my name my email i chose the category payout suspension because that's the closest category i could find that actually relates to my issue so i sent the email hoping somebody would respond and thankfully and surprisingly somebody actually responded within i think it was like two hours which is pretty impressive for a company as big as twitch so we'll give them that at least they're fast to respond this time they sent me a a very annoying template email stating the following when you create a new ticket please select a category from the drop down menu other than payout suspension issues if you are unsure take your time to explore each category in the available subcategories so very annoyingly i went back to the support process a third time and well let's just say this i took a very close look at the categories and what do you guys see right here what do you see do you see anything that relates to my issue exactly do you see anything about not receiving payment i mean guys the closest category i could find from issue was payout suspension there is nothing in the primary category menu and the subcategory menu that relates directly to what i need help with so what am i supposed to do like twitch quite literally does not have a category for people like me so in theory per their suggestion i'm never going to get this resolved at least if i have to go through the official support ticket process because there's clearly no category i i don't know what do i do here what do i do does anybody know someone at twitch this is why i'm making this video like twitch please reach out to me and let's talk about this and yes guys i realize i'm not talking about like two thousand dollars three thousand dollars realistically they probably owe me 300 to 400 which isn't a ton of money but that's still a good chunk of money you know that's still a good chunk of money which could really help me out a lot this time of year so twitch if you see this please reach out and guys i cannot say this enough this is not my typical type of video i mean i'm not i'm not the type to complain i'm not decide to put myself out there looking for help but i i don't know what else to do i reached out to twitch three times now they've always sent me default templates and then eventually they wrapped it up and saying well you have to choose the right category when realistically there is no right category to choose so what do i do from here hey guys this cannot be a coincidence all of this is happening as i'm ending my relationship with twitch so something happened in the process something went wrong somebody made an error i have no idea the only thing i do know is twitch does owe me money and they refuse to send me that money so what do i do about it i have no idea i'm just gonna hope for the best and um yeah i mean i'm making this video for you guys as well so if you're becoming a twitch affiliate i'm not saying to not stream on twitch because it is a fantastic platform you can meet some amazing people on there as i have clearly but just be careful just be careful i mean if twitch does owe you money and you don't get that money just keep it in mind that can happen that can happen because if it happens to me that means it's happening to many other people out there right now i guess i'm done there's nothing else i can say or do thank you guys so much for watching i appreciate your support and i'll see you on youtube youmaking the switch from twitch to youtube has been incredible so far thank you guys so much for your support i truly do
