Apple iPhone 11 - Hands on

Apple's Annual September Event: What We Know About the New iPhone 11

Apple's annual September event has just wrapped up, and they announced quite a few things, including their newest iPhone 11. Let's take a closer look at what's changed and what new features this latest model brings.

The iPhone 11 looks stunning, with its sleek design that's similar to last year's version, but it seems like Apple has dropped the "Pro" part from the name. Instead of having an "R" version following the regular model, we're now just down to iPhone 11. The overall look hasn't changed much from last year's version, however.

But what's really new is that these iPhones now feature more shatter-resistant chassis. This means that the new iPhone 11 will be even more durable and resistant to scratches than its predecessor. Additionally, Apple has introduced two new colors for this model: purple and green. These new colors look stunning in video, but they'll likely look even better in person.

One of the most significant upgrades in the new iPhone 11 is its camera system. Instead of having just one camera, as was the case with last year's iPhone 10R, Apple has opted to include two cameras. Both cameras are 12 megapixel shooters, and instead of adding a telephoto lens like some other recent iPhones, Apple has decided to put an ultra-wide-angle lens alongside the standard wide lens.

This means that users will be able to take sharper photos than ever before, thanks in part to the new camera system. The cameras also allow for new ways of shooting, such as capturing ultra-wide-angle shots and taking advantage of the wider field of view. Furthermore, Apple has introduced a new portrait option for the iPhone 11, which allows users to capture high-quality portraits that are not only wide-angle but can also be taken with pets or objects.

Another exciting feature in the new iPhone 11 is its night mode, which kicks in automatically when there's not enough light in the scene. While we haven't had a chance to test it ourselves yet, Apple seems confident that this feature will bring even better low-light photography results than before.

The front-facing camera also features slow-motion selfies, which is essentially a slow-motion video recording of your selfie for up to 120 frames per second. Additionally, the iPhone 11 can record in 4K up to 60 frames per second. And, with the next-generation Face ID system, users will be able to unlock their phone faster and more securely than ever before.

We're still waiting to confirm whether this new Face ID system will work with the iPhone laid flat on a table, but Apple is confident that it'll provide an even better experience than before. Finally, inside the new iPhone 11 is Apple's brand-new A13 Bionic processor, which is 20% faster than the A12 processor found in last year's models.

This new processor means that users can expect improved performance and efficiency from their phone. And with its introduction comes a range of exciting possibilities for augmented reality apps and games, among other things.

The iPhone 11 pre-order starts this Friday, the 13th at 5:00 a.m. Pacific Standard Time, and will be available in stores on the 20th of September. So if you're interested in getting your hands on one of these brand-new iPhones, mark those dates down and get ready to order yours soon.
