What's Up Cupcakes: A Sunday Afternoon
It is Sunday and I didn't put out a vlog yesterday because believe it or not, sometimes I do boring stuff like go to the grocery store and things like that. So, I didn't really think it was worth filming because it wouldn't be like a full day's worth of Vlog material. However, I did manage to film some stuff yesterday. We took the kids to story time and we went to the library. We listened to a woman with a therapy dog read stories to us, which was really cool. After that, we played Fortnite together as a family. Ozzy got two Victory royales, his first ever and then a second, on the same day. That's about the kind of summary you can expect from my day yesterday.
Today is a new day, and we're in the shop, where I'll be working with lasers. Not only will I be shooting this Vlog, but also some behind-the-scenes footage for another project. I'm waiting for my computer to finish updating itself before we begin. It's an update that I needed, yay! Now that it's done, let's get started.
First Stop: The Old AP Laser
Our first stop is the old AP laser, which still brings a bit of sadness as I think about what used to be here. Nevertheless, I bought sheets of engravable plastic yesterday because I wanted to try something new. Specifically, I got 12 by 24 sheets, which seems like the right size for getting some decent keychains out of it. This is what we're going to work with today.
I also ran a thing of Supernatural keychains and tried something out when playing Fortnite with my son yesterday. The process involved letting the keychains sit in isopropyl alcohol for 10-15 minutes to get them clean, but I made an error this time around. Instead of soaking the keychains in a container as I normally do, I left them out in plain sight for too long - about 45 minutes. This caused the top layer of plastic to degrade, which resulted in the keychain not being as crispy when I took it off. It was a complete waste of that particular batch.
My daughter has informed me that we've named The Mannequin. His name is Manny, and he's quite the gentleman. We're going to put him on display for you all today. In other news, I'll be calling this Vlog "The Mother's Day Special" because we'll be spending some quality time together as a family.
Behind-the-Scenes Sneak Peek
I'm also working on doing cylinders in the P2, and I wanted to give you all a little sneak peek of what that looks like so far. This is my first attempt at it, and let's just say it didn't quite go as planned. I'm not sure exactly what happened here yet; I'll need to review the footage later on. Optimism for Tomorrow
