Good News: Nasogastric Tube Removal and Hospital Stay

I've got some good news to share with you all, thanks for being so kind and supportive. The nasogastric tube has been taken out of my nose and gut, which is a big relief for me. If you don't know what an NG tube is, it stands for nasogastric tube, which is essentially a device that gets shoved into your nose down the back of your throat all the way through your sinuses and into your stomach. It sucks out everything that you've ever eaten, and it's good for when you have a battle obstruction because it prevents food from getting packed into one spot and causing your intestines to rupture. That's no good for anybody, especially me, so I'm glad that's taken care of.

We did a bunch of tests this morning, including x-rays and scans, as well as some contrast to see if things were moving through me. It seemed like things were moving through okay, which is good news. The doc said we're going to take it out and observe a little longer, but only if I can have a bowel movement. You know what I mean - if you can poop then your intestines are working properly, so that's the goal here. We're just waiting on that to happen.

I'm still not allowed to eat anything at the moment, which is fine because it means I don't risk causing any complications in my gut. The doc said that if I can have a bowel movement, then everything is on the up and up, and we'll avoid surgery this time. That's always a plus - avoiding surgery is never good news. But for now, I'm just going to be in the hospital for another night or so, just to make sure everything checks out.

Thanks again to everyone who has been sending kind wishes my way. It means a lot to me, and I appreciate it more than you can know. And just to put it out there, I don't think it was the Pop-Tarts that came after me because I dared to take down Mr. Kellogg himself. I mean, I know there are conspiracy theories floating around about it being some kind of revenge from beyond the grave, but I don't really think that's it. Still, you never know, so I'll keep that in mind.

For now, I'm going to go take a nap and try to rest up for my hospital stay. Thanks again for all your support - I'll keep you posted if there are any changes or updates, okay?
