Vegan Treats: A Taste Test

The world of vegan treats is vast and diverse, with a wide range of options available to those looking for plant-based alternatives to traditional snacks. In this article, we'll delve into three different types of vegan treats that caught our attention.

First up, we have the Soy Jerky from a popular brand. The packaging promised a meaty texture and flavor, but upon closer inspection, it looked more like dog treats than jerky. However, the description of "meaty" was accurate, as it had a strong Smoky kind of soy Saucy smell and a chewy texture reminiscent of jerky. Unfortunately, the flavor wasn't quite right, with a bitter taste that was reminiscent of coffee and a heavily smoked natural flavor that didn't sit well with our palates.

Next, we tried Betty Lou's Energy Balls, which claimed to be packed with spirulina and jing Energy. We were excited to try these balls, which looked like they were coated in nuts and had a chewy texture. To our surprise, the spirulina flavor was masked, and all we could taste was almond, making it a great option for those looking for a nutty snack. The energy balls were also lightly sweetened, making them a great choice for those with dietary restrictions.

Finally, we encountered Primal Strips Meatless Vegan Jerky in Thai Peanut Flavor. This product was described as having a meaty texture, but it didn't quite live up to the hype. Instead of being dry and chewy like traditional jerky, these strips were wet and had a strange, stringy texture that wasn't quite right. The flavor was also an odd combination of lunch meat and jerky, with a sweet and peanutty taste.

Another treat we tried was called "That's It", which contained one apple and one mango. This product looked like a granola bar, but had a soft and chewy texture similar to fruit leather. We were surprised by the level of sweetness in this snack, which made it a great choice for those with a sweet tooth.

Last but not least, we tasted Cliff Kid's Organic Fruit Rope, which claimed to be all natural and gluten-free. This product was shaped like licorice and had a fruity scent that reminded us of fruit punch. The taste was also surprisingly good, with a gelatinous chew similar to some German vegan treats we've tried before. Overall, this snack was a great option for those looking for something sweet and fun.

if you are you're very talented look how stinking cute I wish they would grow with them as they go adorable I should also mention I have eaten another vegan package and that was sent to me from Germany and if you missed that video I'll put the link down below and you can find it down there okay so let's go ahead and get started incidentally I'm wearing a puffer because I'm up in the attic and it's cold up here and my eyes might be red because it's really early in the morning cuz my babies are sleeping yeah and yeah any other things I need to explain thumbs up if you like the new audio but Coco Hydro I don't have any water up here so I'm up in the attic so I don't have any water but I can vouch and say this is pretty good stuff so this is supposed to be a natural electrolyte drink so it tastes like coconut water but then it has a little bit of lemon lime and in it makes it a little bit more like those electrolyte drinks this is really really handy in the dried form and a little pricey for what it is but yeah I like this stuff this drink is made by Pacific natural foods and it's a hazelnut drink rice milk almond milk I've had those before but I've never had hazelnut milk so let's give that a taste this is chocolate and it comes with a straw that telescopes love that I guess you just poke it in here oh no you actually peel it back so I guess you can chug it too yeah okay if I can open it so you can just peel that off and just chug it or you can be very dainty and use a straw I think I shall use a straw all right let's give a taste M that's good it's delicious it tastes like chocolate milk a little bit thinner in consistency rather than cow's milk but nice and chocolatey it's similar to almond milk or it has some of that richness but doesn't really have any almond or in this case hazelnut flavor at the end it has a slight chalkiness in terms of texture but I like the balance of sweetness and chocolatess in there this is Ziggy Marley hemp rules shelled hemp seeds like a lot of nuts hemp seeds are really nutritious and full of energy and lots of Omega-3s so let's give that a taste h they smell good a little bit piny I've had hempies before but I haven't had the zigy Marley's ones before and so they're going to be difficult to see on camera looks a lot like quinoa they're like little kind of flat small spheres sorry it's difficult to see and these have been shell so they're a little bit green on the outside similar to pistachio all right so let's give them a taste it's the luy MS they're really rich and nutty with they're really soft kind of crunch and they have a little bit of a piny taste similar to a pistachio and an almond kind of mixed together but less of are crunch because they're so tiny this is called a kouta bar and in swah it means to give so I guess when you buy every bar you help a child in need which is really great and this is the blueberry almond flavor with Chia and flax seed chia seeds are awesome if you haven't seen my chia seed pudding video I'll put that link down below it's a really simple coconut pudding recipe and flax seed which again is really good for you too high in Omega 3es and sixes and this is gluten-free vegan and no preservatives inside is a very humble looking bar doesn't smell like much smells like dried fruit and it looks like a grola bar and it's a little bit soft in texture it tastes very healthy it's a little bit crunchy there's some rice snacks in there very lightly sweetened and just with fruity flavor which is quite nice I like that aspect of it in terms of flavor I really don't taste the blueberry too much there's a little bit of nuttiness and grittiness from the nuts that are in there and the rice krispies as well yeah it's not bad I think especially if you've been on a long hike or been on the trail this would be amazing this is stonewalls jerky all natural animal free gluten-free and I believe this is supposed to be a vegan beef jerky and Rachel said she didn't delicious mhm so this is Primal strips meatless vegan jery Satan Thai peanut flavor so Satan for those of you that don't know what it is is a meat product that's made by fermenting soybeans and compacting them into a cake and it's interesting it doesn't have necessarily the texture of meat but it does have a density this one Rachel said kind of creeped her out because it was a little bit too meat-like so let me give that a taste oh wo interesting it is quite meaty it's a little bit succulent and juicy wow wow look at that that is quite meat-like not like any jerky ever seen most jerkies tend to be dry this is wet it's got some striations in it that make it look like musculature so let's give that a taste here we go oh wow that is more like fake meat rather than jerky in my opinion it's kind of a combination of lunch meat and jerky together because it's kind of wet but it's a little bit stringy like jerky tends to be and very meat-like in texture this is the Thai peanut flavor so it's a little bit sweet and peanutty and a little soy Saucy not spicy at all but the texture is very curious see this one's called that's it and it contains one apple and one mango it looks a lot like a granola bar and it looks like it's going to be soft yep M I like that a lot kind of a curious texture though it's kind of like a chopped up fruit leather put back together again it's a little bit chewy and you can crunch through the apple bits but it's a little bit leathery too mostly I taste apple and then you can taste a little bit of mango in there as well I think there's some mango puree that maybe holds it all together but great level of sweetness because it's just fruit and and it's a little bit sour as well delicious and for my last one is an organic fruit rope and it's made by Cliff kid which is cff bar company and this is strawberry look how beautiful it's similar to a licorice in shape oh it smells great smells like fruit punch and I assume it says it's all natural Twisted rope glutenfree it's like candy but it's made out of fruit right let's give a taste m m M that's really good I think my boy will love this it's actually nice and sour has a really great gelatinous chew similar to some of the vegan treats that I had in Germany it says it's strawberry but to me it tastes more like fruit punch and in terms of texture I think they use a little bit of
