iPhone SE (2020) - FULL In-Depth Review!

The iPhone SE (2020) - A Device that Brings High-End Features at an Affordable Price

If you're considering upgrading from your old iPhone 6s or 6, the new iPhone SE (2020) is definitely worth checking out. This device comes with a brand new haptic engine, which was not present in its predecessor. The haptic engine provides a more immersive and realistic feedback experience when interacting with the phone's interface. Additionally, the iPhone SE (2020) gets 2.7 times faster Wi-Fi 6, 5.0 Bluetooth connectivity, and a much faster second-generation Touch ID.

The iPhone SE (2020) is also equipped with advanced features that are typically found in higher-end smartphones. These include wireless charging, water resistance, and a stainless steel frame that provides a premium feel to the device. The phone's display may be a concern for some users, as it switches from an OLED screen on previous models like the iPhone 11 Pro to an LCD display on this model. However, those who are used to the standard iPhone design will likely appreciate the return of the stainless steel frame and the overall build quality.

In terms of performance, the iPhone SE (2020) is capable of delivering fast results thanks to its A13 Bionic chip. While it may not be as powerful as some other recent Apple devices like the iPhone 12 Pro or iPhone 11 Pro Max, it's more than enough for most users. The phone also comes with a large 1821mAh battery that provides all-day usage.

One of the biggest advantages of the iPhone SE (2020) over its competitors is its affordability. At a price point similar to some Android devices, it offers many high-end features and specifications that are typically found in more expensive phones. For example, both the Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra and the Samsung Galaxy S71 have higher prices than the iPhone SE (2020), despite offering similar or better performance.

When it comes to battery life, the iPhone SE (2020) may not be as long-lasting as some other recent Apple devices. In my usage, I found that the phone's battery life was relatively short, especially when compared to my older iPhone 11 Pro. However, this is likely due to the smaller battery size and the fact that I don't use my phone as much as most people.

The question remains, whether or not the iPhone SE (2020) is worth it for everyone. If you have an iPhone 8 or newer, there's no compelling reason to upgrade to this device at a higher price point. However, if you're coming from an older iPhone model and want to get modern features without breaking the bank, then the iPhone SE (2020) may be the perfect choice.

For example, if you have an older iPhone 7 or even earlier models like the iPhone 6S or 6, the iPhone SE (2020) is a great option. You'll be getting all the latest Apple hardware and software features without paying top dollar. Additionally, this phone would be suitable for your grandparents or other older adults who may not need all the bells and whistles of newer smartphones but still want a reliable and easy-to-use device.

Lastly, if you have young children, the iPhone SE (2020) is also an excellent choice. It's small and lightweight, making it easy to handle for kids, and it comes with advanced features like Touch ID and Face ID that provide an additional layer of security. With the ability to get all software updates directly from Apple, this phone will remain secure and up-to-date for years to come.

In conclusion, the iPhone SE (2020) is a device that offers many high-end features at an affordable price point. If you're considering upgrading from your old iPhone or want to get modern specs without breaking the bank, then this phone is definitely worth checking out.

"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enthis is the iPhone I see two or the ific 2020 now it's the iPhone se second-generation whatever guys this is the cheapest iPhone that Apple currently sells so you can give this for just $400 or 420 pounds in the UK making it almost three times less expensive than the iPhone 11 Pro max however it actually comes for the most parts when the exact same camera and the exact same specs as the iPhone 11 pros so the real question here is is it really worth it or are you just better off with getting an older smartphone or even a different smartphone instead from let's say Samsung like the a 51 or the 871 that have a much more modern design for pretty much the same price well that's why we're all here to find out so get us next ready and enjoy my full in the review of the iPhone se - covering the design that is play the camera performance special features battery life and finally the value now I'm just gonna say it right off the bat that if you already have an iPhone 10 or newer then the SE is overall a pretty big downgrade so this phone is not for you but if you're coming from an older iPhone like the iPhone 8 or even older than that then you've always preferred a small form-factor smartphone without breaking the bank then the SE is a very good choice so in this review I'm mostly going to focus on the upgrade that you get coming from the older iPhones further than the downgrades that you get coming from the newer ones so sit back relax and enjoy if you just got your brand-new iPhone I see 20/20 and you're looking for some very amazing cases such as this one and more than checkouts ESR or sponsor for this video they have you covered quite a lot of pretty awesome cases they have a very wide variety of cases by the way but by far my favorite one is this one right here the ESR bumper case you see this is essentially an actual bumper case that reminds me of the old style iPhone 4 and iPhone 4s bumper cases which were by far my favorite cases ever on a smartphone the bumper case is actually made out of metal instead of rubber or plastic and it provides draw protection while also keeping the back perfectly clear so yeah definitely my favorite one then ESR also has the mimic tempered glass case which is a transparent back case but unlike the competition which has silicon transparent cases this one is actually made out of tempered glass on the back and then hard silicone on the frame in order to absorb impact damage yes our then has the metal kickstand case which is a usual transparent silicone case but with a kickstand for when you want to prop it up and watch a movie and finally we also have the essential zero case which is a very very thin and light clear silicone case the links for each case is in the description box down below and if he's a coupon code in the description you also get a discount so yeah check out ESR his line of cases for the iPhone se 2020 and again thanks to the SR for sponsoring this video starting up from the design the iPhone se - I'm just going to call it the iPhone se - from now on by the way looks identical to the iPhone 8 from 2017 the iPhone 7 from 2016 the iPhone 6s from 2015 and the iPhone 6 from 2014 at least from the front essentially the iPhone se which is a 2020 phone uses a six year old design which I know it really sucks like I would have loved to see Apple come up with a brand new design rather than recycling the exact same old design over and over and over again you know I think if Steve Jobs was still around and you know that's that era is over but I think Apple would have honestly designed a brand new phone to come in this very very small form-factor but you see when when you plan on releasing a low price smartphone like the SE is you do need to make some cuts you need to downgrade some of the components in order to reach that price point and manufacturers such as Samsung for example they decided to go for a 2020 design but instead they downgraded the performance and the overall user experience Apple on the other hand they did quite the opposite they went with an all design and they kept the same 20/20 specs that their most highest and and expensive smartphones come with at the end of the day it all comes to you which one do you prefer we prefer having a car that looks like a Lamborghini but the engine is so weak that he have to keep pedaling manually or we prefer having a 1920s car but with the jet engine attached to it I'm obviously exaggerating both cases but you get the idea now leaving that aside Apple has made some small design tweaks to the SC so while from the front it does look identical to all the other iPhones from 2014 onwards the back now has a centered Apple logo compared to how it always used to be before and then the colors have also changed a bit so the white model is now brighter and also comes with a black front burner and the white front that we used to get before and the black model is now darker than the old Space Gray the red is pretty much the same red that we had before the only difference being that a percentage of the sales generated by the product red model or actually donated towards fighting kovat 19 now instead of HIV so yeah that's pretty awesome Apple now if you're coming from an iPhone 8 that I mentions of the SCE are identical even the weight so all of your previous cases would actually fit DSC if you're coming from an iPhone 7 the SC is now 0.2 millimeter thicker and 10 grams heavier if we're coming from a success the SC is now zero pointing wheeler seeker and five grams heavier and then if you're coming from an iPhone 6 vs C is zero point four millimeters and 19 grams heavier using the SC brought back so many memories of me being at university and just using my old iphone 6 and iphone success it was a pretty nostalgic experience so to say but at the same time I honestly cannot go back to using such a small form factor device I mean look at look at this thing it's just tiny I do really like how portable it is though compared to my iPhone 11 Promax which is just humongous and heavy as well and I can't even feel the SC at all in my pocket like I kind of missed the days of thin light and portable smartphones that are also easily usable in one hand but here's the thing even though DSC just doesn't compare with any other modern smartphone from 20/20 design wise as it feels incredibly outdated something that some people would absolutely prefer is that a very small and portable for a factor that ESC comes in for those of you who are indeed used to using the small form-factor the SE is just a refresh of an old memory the display is pretty much identical to the iPhone HD display so it is a 4.7 inch panel when it's 16 by 9 at the ratio meaning that you will have no black bars when watching 16 by 9 YouTube content however the resolution of this display is 1334 by 750 which means that you won't be able to watch 1080p YouTube content at all and it will essentially max out at 720p natively as there aren't enough pixels to push for it's an AP image but nonetheless this is still a redhead display with 326 pixels per inch so therefore from the normal viewing distance you won't be able to see any pixels at all we also have a truther functionality which adjusts the call temperature of the display so that it matches the ambient flight around you making it so much easier on the eyes essentially we get exact same display that we got on the iPhone 8 from 2017 with the exception of 3d touch which has now been removed entirely so the display can no longer feel actual pressure but no worries the 3d touch functionality that one is still there is just that you now have to hold longer on an icon or an end press harder if you're agreeing from an iPhone 7 true tone would be the new feature here if you're upgrading from an iPhone 6s or Nikon 6 you'll notice that the SC actually has a much more colorful display and this is a DCI p3 panel and it is also brighter at 625 minutes versus 500 nits overall this is honestly one of the very best LCD panels that I've ever seen on smart phone it wouldn't be nice for this to be OLED as even the low end Samsung phones even though is come with an OLED display now so that's a shame but are in that this is an outstanding LCD now the cameras a bits interesting you see the SC has the same camera system as the iPhone 8 from 2017 so that means that we have a single Carroll module on the back or than the dual or the triple modules that the iPhone eleven's come with and this is a 12 megapixel F 1.8 camera the sensor itself is actually smaller than on the iPhone 11 so it won't be able to capture as much light however it can indeed shoots 4k 60 video just like the iPhone 8 could and then on the front we have a 70 megapixel F 2.2 aperture camera which is quite a bit lower resolution than the 12 megapixel camera that we have on the iPhone Elevens now but it's still pretty decent the video recording on the front however is limited to say maybe 30 compared to 4k 60 on the iPhone 11s so this is a pretty big downgrade okay so so far the camera system is identical to the icon 81 and that's great but you see Apple is actually using the same ISP or image signal processor as on the iPhone Elevens so the software processing the HDR tone mapping all of that is exactly the same as on the iPhone 11 and the iPhone 11 pros so here are a few side by side shots versus the eye fell upon pro max a phone that cost three times more than the iPhone se does and also a phone would arguably the very best camera on a smart phone especially if you take video performance into account and as you can see the iPhone se photos look pretty much identical to the ones taken with the iPhone 11 pro max now sure you do have the ultra wide-angle module on the 11pro as well as the telephoto module both of which DSE lacks but in terms of the quality of the main module they look almost identical and I would say that that's pretty insane even when it comes to video recording they both record in 4k 60 and as you can tell actually can even tell which one is which if it weren't for the labels above them so yeah daytime photo and video quality is pretty much on par with yak 11 Pro max now when it comes to low in performance unfortunately this is where we can see a pretty big advantage that the iPhone Elevens have so DSC does not have a night mode at all which is pretty unfortunate and because of this the iPhone se is quite bad in low-light the iPhone 11s are mild better fun fact since the ice peas are the same and the processors are also the same which I'll get to in just a second the fact that the SE doesn't have night mode is purely a decision that Apple made the SC pulley has the hardware to support it so it seems like Apple decided against adding it in order to give you more incentives to go for the more expensive - 11 s now another reason why you might want to upgrade here - levins is the front-facing camera while the image processing is almost identical between the SC and the iPhone 11 Pro max the pro max does have a sharper image thanks to the increased resolution and when it comes to comparing front-facing video well this is a pretty massive difference between the two we have 4k 60 versus 1080p 30 but I would say that for the most part this is still an outstanding camera especially for how little disk phone costs now if you're upgrading from the iPhone 8 aside from the new ISP which does make a pretty big difference when it comes to image processing even on the exact same hardware when you get quick take video so you can just hold the shutter button to start recording a video which is pretty cool again it's the software thing so that can easily be added in a software update to previous iPhones Apple hasn't done this and then we also get extended dynamic range when it comes to recording 4k video at 30 frames per seconds a pretty much HDR video but limiting to 30 fps and probably my favorite thing here is that even though we only have one camera module on the back and no face ID camera on the front the iPhone se features portrait mode on both the back and the front everything is done through software now so here's a few side-by-side comparisons versus the iPhone up and Promax and as you can tell there are extremely close now if you're coming from an iPhone 7 you get all the improvements over the 8 plus 4k 63 recording and supposed to 4k 30 as well as a more powerful flash here are a few side-by-side shots versus the iPhone 7 and as you can tell the SC is a pretty noticeable improvement if you're coming from an iPhone 6s you get all the improvements over the eight and a seven plus a larger F 1.8 vs f/2 going to aperture optical image stabilization on the back as well as a 7 megapixel camera compared to the 5 megapixel front-facing camera that you had on the iPhone 6s here's a few samples versus the iPhone 6s so yeah pretty noticeable difference here as well and finally if you're up running from an iPhone 6 this is where you'll see the biggest improvements by far as you can probably tell from these images right here aside from all the improvements already 8 to the 7 and the 6 says we also get seen 12 megapixel resolution on the back versus the 8 megapixel camera on the 6 we also get a 4k 60 video versus 1080p 60 we also get a 7 megapixel front-facing camera over the 1.2 megapixel camera of the iPhone 6 we get a TP 13 video on the front or 720p 30 we get a retina flash so front-facing flash essentially thanks to the screen lighting up and then we also get slow-motion video in 1080p 240 as opposed to 720p 240 as well as anyhoo true tone flash on the back here's the same photo now taken on all these iPhones so feel free to pause the video if you wanna take a closer look at how these cameras have be evolved over time and now here is another shot but this time in low-light on all these iPhones so you and redeposit you compare the light performance over the years and now we have the same selfie and all these iPhones so again we can see a pretty nice improvements that all of these iPhones have gotten since 2014 pretty nice now when it comes to the actual performance this is quite interesting you see the original iPhone se from 2016 it had the design of the iPhone 5 from 2012 but the same camera and the same specs as the iPhone 6s from 2015 the most modern iPhone that Apple was selling at a time the iPhone se was released and Apple has done the exact same thing again on the iPhone se 20/20 as this one all features the same Apple 813 processor that the iPhone Elevens come with now that's just nuts because you see the Apple a 13 chip is so powerful that it even outperforms some laptop processors from Intel most of them actually and I never believed that Apple would actually put his chip inside the second generation iPhone se I was expecting Apple to add maybe the a-10 that the entry-level iPod features a 13 is just an overkill but hey I can't complain performance on this iPhone is just outstanding so I've cloned my iPhone Levin promax and used the iPhone se too over the past few days and it honestly felt even faster than my eyeful of and Promax did likely due to the fact that a screen is 3.33 times lower in resolution and then the GPU because of this has 3.33 times less pixels to push however if we do a side-by-side Geekbench comparison even though Geekbench clocks the cpu adds 2.66 guards on both phones the SC actually scored significantly less on the multi-core side compared to the iPhone Levin Promax more than 1,000 points less the GPU compute scores on the other hands were actually in favor of the iPhone se scoring quite a bit more than the I feel have been Promax every single time now when it comes to the RAM while we do get four gigabytes of RAM on the end 2011 the iPhone se only comes with three gigabytes which means that ESC won't be able to keep as many apps open in the background as the iPhone eleven's can surge wise the SE comes with 64 gigabytes of storage as the base line which interesting enough is the exact same as the iPhone Elevens and then you can further bomb the storage to up to 256 gigabytes so if we compare this to you let's say the iPhone 8 we get a 1.4 time faster CPU and a 2 times faster GPU and the same amount of RAM now compared to the iPhone 7 we get a 1.8 times faster CPU and a 2.8 times faster GPU as well as 3 gigabytes of RAM compared to 2 gigabytes around converts to the 6s we get a two point four times faster CPU and a four times faster GPU as well as three gigabytes of RAM compared to two and finally compared to the iPhone 6 we get a four times faster CPU and a 10 times faster GPU as well as three times the amount of RAM three gigabytes compared to one gigabyte so yeah a gigantic performance improvement if you're coming from the iPhone 6 but probably the best part when it comes to performance on Yesi is in terms of software updates you see even the first iPhone se which came out in 2016 it had 2015 Hardware so essentially a five year old spec device is still fully supported in the latest version of iOS 13 today meaning that it got five years or four years in this case of software updates the SE 2020 comes with an even more powerful processor and is likely going to be supported for at least four years or not even more in terms of updates ok now when it comes to special features compared to the iPhone 8 the SE 2020 does indeed have a few for example it features Wi-Fi 6 with 38% faster Wi-Fi speeds as well as 60% faster Siller speeds of up to 1 gigabit per second now who needs 5g when you have those speeds like really we also get dual sim nano SIM and isom as well as express cards would pour reserve which allow you to use Apple pay on public transports even when your iPhone is fully it is charged and it won't even turn on so that's that's pretty cool compared to the iPhone 7 you get all the improvements over the eight plus two point one times faster is Hillier speeds Bluetooth five versus Luigi 4.2 as well as double the base storage to 64 gigabytes compared to 32 and we also get wireless charging which is pretty pretty awesome now compared to the iPhone 6s we get all the improvements and we got over the eight and a seven plus three point two times faster solar speeds ip67 water resistance force immersion of up to one meters of death up to thirty minutes we get four times the base storage of 64 gigabytes compared to 16 gigabytes we also gets your speakers with the earpiece being a speaker in itself and we also get had two responses in the OS with a brand new haptic engine but unfortunately we do lose the headphone jack if you're upgrading from the six you get everything that I mentioned before plus 2.7 times faster Wi-Fi 6.5 times faster seller speeds Bluetooth 5.0 vs. 4.0 a much faster second generation touch ID as well as a haptic engine which the iPhone 6 didn't have at all so overall we do get some pretty big special features especially if you're coming from the iPhone 6s or the iPhone 6 now I would say that the biggest advantage that ESC has over pretty much any other smartphone at this price is that you get things such as well as charging water resistance your speakers and even yes even an advanced haptic engine all of which are usually features that are reserved for higher and smartphones and this is something that for example we don't get on the Samsung a 51 or a Samsung a 71 both of which are around the same price as the iPhone se they have a much better design and display than yes see but they do lack in terms of performance and features now when it comes to the battery life the SE comes with a fairly small 1821 million power battery the same size as on the iPhone 8 by the way now in terms of my usage I gotta be honest I don't really use my phone as much as you would expect or you would think I'm pretty much on my laptop most of the day the only time when I actually is my phone all day is when I'm traveling and of course that do to your car lock down I couldn't really do that but I did set up my se with all my stuff and from my I feel up and Promax and I've used it over the past weekend and the battery life was pretty bad at least when compared to my eleven Promax it kind of reminded me of the battery life on the iPhone success maybe a bit better but yeah definitely doesn't compare to the iPhone eleven's mostly because of how small the battery really is and finally when it comes to the value is the iPhone se 20/20 worth it well if you have an iPhone 8 an iPhone 10 or anything newer I would say no I mean especially if you're coming from nine from ten this is a pretty big dumb rate I mean yes the camera is better and the performance is also better but going from an OLED display to an LCD display is is a pretty massive downgrade not even to mention the design the stainless steel frame that you gets and the overall build quality and the larger display and all of that that the iPhone 10 comes with and you don't get any of that on the iPhone se now if you do have an older iPhone such as a 7 or even older and you want to buy a new iPhone without spending way too much and you also prefer the smaller form factor then the iPhone is C 2020 is actually an amazing choice you're pretty much upgrading the internals and keeping the same chassis so to say while also getting new things such as wireless charging and water resistance if you're coming from iPhone 6 or success I would say that aside from this the iPhone se is also worth buying for your grandparents or your aunt or uncle someone who's not really that into tech someone that's not tech savvy and just needs a good iPhone that can last them for a good number of years I do you really think that's the SE is also the perfect phone for a young child that needs a modern iPhone that can get all the software updates and all the apps and all that and also you know a phone that's very small and very easy to use I think that yeah I only see it's basically the perfect phone smart phone for children so yeah overall the SE is definitely not for everyone but for those who it is it is definitely an amazing Buy and if you want to buy one yourselves definitely consider using the affiliate links below that you support a channel you have to pay anything Amazon actually gives us a commission from their sales on their end so yeah it's pretty cool so thank you guys thank to hold longer on an icon or an end press harder if you're agreeing from an iPhone 7 true tone would be the new feature here if you're upgrading from an iPhone 6s or Nikon 6 you'll notice that the SC actually has a much more colorful display and this is a DCI p3 panel and it is also brighter at 625 minutes versus 500 nits overall this is honestly one of the very best LCD panels that I've ever seen on smart phone it wouldn't be nice for this to be OLED as even the low end Samsung phones even though is come with an OLED display now so that's a shame but are in that this is an outstanding LCD now the cameras a bits interesting you see the SC has the same camera system as the iPhone 8 from 2017 so that means that we have a single Carroll module on the back or than the dual or the triple modules that the iPhone eleven's come with and this is a 12 megapixel F 1.8 camera the sensor itself is actually smaller than on the iPhone 11 so it won't be able to capture as much light however it can indeed shoots 4k 60 video just like the iPhone 8 could and then on the front we have a 70 megapixel F 2.2 aperture camera which is quite a bit lower resolution than the 12 megapixel camera that we have on the iPhone Elevens now but it's still pretty decent the video recording on the front however is limited to say maybe 30 compared to 4k 60 on the iPhone 11s so this is a pretty big downgrade okay so so far the camera system is identical to the icon 81 and that's great but you see Apple is actually using the same ISP or image signal processor as on the iPhone Elevens so the software processing the HDR tone mapping all of that is exactly the same as on the iPhone 11 and the iPhone 11 pros so here are a few side by side shots versus the eye fell upon pro max a phone that cost three times more than the iPhone se does and also a phone would arguably the very best camera on a smart phone especially if you take video performance into account and as you can see the iPhone se photos look pretty much identical to the ones taken with the iPhone 11 pro max now sure you do have the ultra wide-angle module on the 11pro as well as the telephoto module both of which DSE lacks but in terms of the quality of the main module they look almost identical and I would say that that's pretty insane even when it comes to video recording they both record in 4k 60 and as you can tell actually can even tell which one is which if it weren't for the labels above them so yeah daytime photo and video quality is pretty much on par with yak 11 Pro max now when it comes to low in performance unfortunately this is where we can see a pretty big advantage that the iPhone Elevens have so DSC does not have a night mode at all which is pretty unfortunate and because of this the iPhone se is quite bad in low-light the iPhone 11s are mild better fun fact since the ice peas are the same and the processors are also the same which I'll get to in just a second the fact that the SE doesn't have night mode is purely a decision that Apple made the SC pulley has the hardware to support it so it seems like Apple decided against adding it in order to give you more incentives to go for the more expensive - 11 s now another reason why you might want to upgrade here - levins is the front-facing camera while the image processing is almost identical between the SC and the iPhone 11 Pro max the pro max does have a sharper image thanks to the increased resolution and when it comes to comparing front-facing video well this is a pretty massive difference between the two we have 4k 60 versus 1080p 30 but I would say that for the most part this is still an outstanding camera especially for how little disk phone costs now if you're upgrading from the iPhone 8 aside from the new ISP which does make a pretty big difference when it comes to image processing even on the exact same hardware when you get quick take video so you can just hold the shutter button to start recording a video which is pretty cool again it's the software thing so that can easily be added in a software update to previous iPhones Apple hasn't done this and then we also get extended dynamic range when it comes to recording 4k video at 30 frames per seconds a pretty much HDR video but limiting to 30 fps and probably my favorite thing here is that even though we only have one camera module on the back and no face ID camera on the front the iPhone se features portrait mode on both the back and the front everything is done through software now so here's a few side-by-side comparisons versus the iPhone up and Promax and as you can tell there are extremely close now if you're coming from an iPhone 7 you get all the improvements over the 8 plus 4k 63 recording and supposed to 4k 30 as well as a more powerful flash here are a few side-by-side shots versus the iPhone 7 and as you can tell the SC is a pretty noticeable improvement if you're coming from an iPhone 6s you get all the improvements over the eight and a seven plus a larger F 1.8 vs f/2 going to aperture optical image stabilization on the back as well as a 7 megapixel camera compared to the 5 megapixel front-facing camera that you had on the iPhone 6s here's a few samples versus the iPhone 6s so yeah pretty noticeable difference here as well and finally if you're up running from an iPhone 6 this is where you'll see the biggest improvements by far as you can probably tell from these images right here aside from all the improvements already 8 to the 7 and the 6 says we also get seen 12 megapixel resolution on the back versus the 8 megapixel camera on the 6 we also get a 4k 60 video versus 1080p 60 we also get a 7 megapixel front-facing camera over the 1.2 megapixel camera of the iPhone 6 we get a TP 13 video on the front or 720p 30 we get a retina flash so front-facing flash essentially thanks to the screen lighting up and then we also get slow-motion video in 1080p 240 as opposed to 720p 240 as well as anyhoo true tone flash on the back here's the same photo now taken on all these iPhones so feel free to pause the video if you wanna take a closer look at how these cameras have be evolved over time and now here is another shot but this time in low-light on all these iPhones so you and redeposit you compare the light performance over the years and now we have the same selfie and all these iPhones so again we can see a pretty nice improvements that all of these iPhones have gotten since 2014 pretty nice now when it comes to the actual performance this is quite interesting you see the original iPhone se from 2016 it had the design of the iPhone 5 from 2012 but the same camera and the same specs as the iPhone 6s from 2015 the most modern iPhone that Apple was selling at a time the iPhone se was released and Apple has done the exact same thing again on the iPhone se 20/20 as this one all features the same Apple 813 processor that the iPhone Elevens come with now that's just nuts because you see the Apple a 13 chip is so powerful that it even outperforms some laptop processors from Intel most of them actually and I never believed that Apple would actually put his chip inside the second generation iPhone se I was expecting Apple to add maybe the a-10 that the entry-level iPod features a 13 is just an overkill but hey I can't complain performance on this iPhone is just outstanding so I've cloned my iPhone Levin promax and used the iPhone se too over the past few days and it honestly felt even faster than my eyeful of and Promax did likely due to the fact that a screen is 3.33 times lower in resolution and then the GPU because of this has 3.33 times less pixels to push however if we do a side-by-side Geekbench comparison even though Geekbench clocks the cpu adds 2.66 guards on both phones the SC actually scored significantly less on the multi-core side compared to the iPhone Levin Promax more than 1,000 points less the GPU compute scores on the other hands were actually in favor of the iPhone se scoring quite a bit more than the I feel have been Promax every single time now when it comes to the RAM while we do get four gigabytes of RAM on the end 2011 the iPhone se only comes with three gigabytes which means that ESC won't be able to keep as many apps open in the background as the iPhone eleven's can surge wise the SE comes with 64 gigabytes of storage as the base line which interesting enough is the exact same as the iPhone Elevens and then you can further bomb the storage to up to 256 gigabytes so if we compare this to you let's say the iPhone 8 we get a 1.4 time faster CPU and a 2 times faster GPU and the same amount of RAM now compared to the iPhone 7 we get a 1.8 times faster CPU and a 2.8 times faster GPU as well as 3 gigabytes of RAM compared to 2 gigabytes around converts to the 6s we get a two point four times faster CPU and a four times faster GPU as well as three gigabytes of RAM compared to two and finally compared to the iPhone 6 we get a four times faster CPU and a 10 times faster GPU as well as three times the amount of RAM three gigabytes compared to one gigabyte so yeah a gigantic performance improvement if you're coming from the iPhone 6 but probably the best part when it comes to performance on Yesi is in terms of software updates you see even the first iPhone se which came out in 2016 it had 2015 Hardware so essentially a five year old spec device is still fully supported in the latest version of iOS 13 today meaning that it got five years or four years in this case of software updates the SE 2020 comes with an even more powerful processor and is likely going to be supported for at least four years or not even more in terms of updates ok now when it comes to special features compared to the iPhone 8 the SE 2020 does indeed have a few for example it features Wi-Fi 6 with 38% faster Wi-Fi speeds as well as 60% faster Siller speeds of up to 1 gigabit per second now who needs 5g when you have those speeds like really we also get dual sim nano SIM and isom as well as express cards would pour reserve which allow you to use Apple pay on public transports even when your iPhone is fully it is charged and it won't even turn on so that's that's pretty cool compared to the iPhone 7 you get all the improvements over the eight plus two point one times faster is Hillier speeds Bluetooth five versus Luigi 4.2 as well as double the base storage to 64 gigabytes compared to 32 and we also get wireless charging which is pretty pretty awesome now compared to the iPhone 6s we get all the improvements and we got over the eight and a seven plus three point two times faster solar speeds ip67 water resistance force immersion of up to one meters of death up to thirty minutes we get four times the base storage of 64 gigabytes compared to 16 gigabytes we also gets your speakers with the earpiece being a speaker in itself and we also get had two responses in the OS with a brand new haptic engine but unfortunately we do lose the headphone jack if you're upgrading from the six you get everything that I mentioned before plus 2.7 times faster Wi-Fi 6.5 times faster seller speeds Bluetooth 5.0 vs. 4.0 a much faster second generation touch ID as well as a haptic engine which the iPhone 6 didn't have at all so overall we do get some pretty big special features especially if you're coming from the iPhone 6s or the iPhone 6 now I would say that the biggest advantage that ESC has over pretty much any other smartphone at this price is that you get things such as well as charging water resistance your speakers and even yes even an advanced haptic engine all of which are usually features that are reserved for higher and smartphones and this is something that for example we don't get on the Samsung a 51 or a Samsung a 71 both of which are around the same price as the iPhone se they have a much better design and display than yes see but they do lack in terms of performance and features now when it comes to the battery life the SE comes with a fairly small 1821 million power battery the same size as on the iPhone 8 by the way now in terms of my usage I gotta be honest I don't really use my phone as much as you would expect or you would think I'm pretty much on my laptop most of the day the only time when I actually is my phone all day is when I'm traveling and of course that do to your car lock down I couldn't really do that but I did set up my se with all my stuff and from my I feel up and Promax and I've used it over the past weekend and the battery life was pretty bad at least when compared to my eleven Promax it kind of reminded me of the battery life on the iPhone success maybe a bit better but yeah definitely doesn't compare to the iPhone eleven's mostly because of how small the battery really is and finally when it comes to the value is the iPhone se 20/20 worth it well if you have an iPhone 8 an iPhone 10 or anything newer I would say no I mean especially if you're coming from nine from ten this is a pretty big dumb rate I mean yes the camera is better and the performance is also better but going from an OLED display to an LCD display is is a pretty massive downgrade not even to mention the design the stainless steel frame that you gets and the overall build quality and the larger display and all of that that the iPhone 10 comes with and you don't get any of that on the iPhone se now if you do have an older iPhone such as a 7 or even older and you want to buy a new iPhone without spending way too much and you also prefer the smaller form factor then the iPhone is C 2020 is actually an amazing choice you're pretty much upgrading the internals and keeping the same chassis so to say while also getting new things such as wireless charging and water resistance if you're coming from iPhone 6 or success I would say that aside from this the iPhone se is also worth buying for your grandparents or your aunt or uncle someone who's not really that into tech someone that's not tech savvy and just needs a good iPhone that can last them for a good number of years I do you really think that's the SE is also the perfect phone for a young child that needs a modern iPhone that can get all the software updates and all the apps and all that and also you know a phone that's very small and very easy to use I think that yeah I only see it's basically the perfect phone smart phone for children so yeah overall the SE is definitely not for everyone but for those who it is it is definitely an amazing Buy and if you want to buy one yourselves
