And then news came from the Google Play Store that shook the world, let Let It Go from the hit movie Frozen is now free for download. Dad I need to get in the shower sometime today own who you are if you were a musical theater diva from Hell own it okay okay there actually was some real Android news this week despite it being Christmas and we'll start with OnePlus versus Micromax a judge in India Has Lifted the sales ban on OnePlus One Android smartphones in India but is it enough to win the war.
OnePlus One experienced a major letdown a short while ago when an agreement between Cyanogen and Micromax led to the ban of sales of the OnePlus 1 in India now today's decision does not fully overcome the problems of the OnePlus team and its customers instead we are seeing a temporary lift of the sales ban and nothing more. The decision to lift the ban comes from the opinion that fellow smartphone manufacturer Micromax with its exclusive right to use cyanogen's custom Android software within India is not actually in competition with OnePlus 1 in the market. Micromax primarily produces phones for the low-end market where OnePlus One has been deemed to Target the high-end Market.
Let's just hope this doesn't turn out to be a long drawn out battle like apple versus Samsung now next up is good news for Huawei who's trying to disrupt the market by sidest stepping the carrier alog together Huawei's honor brand of smartphones has seen a massive jump in sales from 1 million units per year to 20 million according to a report by Reuters. Huawei has managed this by emulating the disruptive online strategy of xiomi however there is an interesting side effect that could have an impact on all smartphone makers not just those in China some smartphone makers rake in profits of up to 18% per smartphone sold however the transition to online selling independent of the carriers mean that manufacturers can reduce the price of handsets as they no longer need to factor in distribution expenses that often add up to 30% of the price of the handset.
This is quite frankly fantastic news for you and me Sid stepping the carrier means cheaper devices for you and me in fact xiaomi is doing so well they now have a Target on their back from Mao with the Mau M1 note as we have come to expect from Mao. The M1 note comes pcking with some rather decent hardware for its $160 price tag the lowcost nature of this device appears to be a direct response to Shia's rise to the top of China smartphone market even the M1 note name shares some similarities with xiaomi's hugely popular redmi note.
The M1 note Sports a 5.5 in 1080P display at 403 PPI It Sports a mediatech octacore processor 2 GB of RAM 16 to 32 GB of internal storage a 30 megapixel camera and a front megapixel front-facing camera with a large 3140 mAh battery it is also a dual SIM card phone now you should note it does lack a Micro SD card slot and a fingerprint scanner but for the price come on.
