The Transformation of Tyler's Abode: A Gentleman's Pad Takes Shape
As we step into Tyler's Abode, it becomes apparent that this is more than just a bachelor pad - it's a reflection of his unique style and sophistication. The transformation process began with the addition of a few finishing touches to the room, including hanging curtain rods, putting up curtains, and adding a natural element with a clay pomegranate. "I wanted to bring in a little bit of nature," Tyler explained. "The tray from the flea marketplace center is round and has a great shape, and the orange bowl with metal accents was the perfect container." These thoughtful additions set the tone for the rest of the space.
Next, attention turned to the dining room, where a beautiful light fixture took center stage. "I've always wanted to have like a cool vintage movie stage light," Tyler revealed. "I looked at hundreds of them and went to different shops over the years." The result was a stunning piece that adds a touch of Hollywood glamour to the space. "It's like literally the first thing I bought for the house," he said with a smile. The room is completed by high-backed chairs, which Tyler admitted were initially inspired by dining room sets sent from Kate.
Now, as we enter the heart of the home - the area where meals are shared and memories are made - it becomes clear that this space has been carefully curated to reflect Tyler's sense of style. "I love your style," his companion said. "You genuinely like it and want to have people over." The room is filled with a warm, inviting atmosphere, thanks in part to the clever use of light colors. "It's such a good example of how a space can be manly but still elegant and welcoming," our host observed.
One of the standout features of this gentleman's pad is its unique blend of old and new. The art gallery-inspired area is a masterclass in mixing vintage items with modern touches, creating a look that is both sophisticated and approachable. As we admire the space, it becomes clear that Tyler's Abode is more than just a home - it's an extension of his personality. "I think it's such a unique style to him," our companion noted. "It's a style of sophistication." And as we look around at the carefully curated decor, we can't help but feel like we're experiencing a glimpse into Tyler's world.
The Transformation Process: Behind the Scenes
While the final result is certainly impressive, it wasn't always easy to achieve. As we watched Tyler and his companion work on the space, they shared their thoughts and ideas about what was going on. "We've been working on this project for weeks," Tyler said. "It's been a labor of love." Their conversation revealed the process behind each decision, from choosing the perfect curtains to selecting the ideal chair.
The Power of Collaboration
One of the keys to the space's success is the collaborative effort between Tyler and his companion. "Kate was very hard-lined about not doing a full set," Tyler explained. "She didn't want it to match too much." This thoughtful approach paid off, as the result is a room that feels both cohesive and uniquely individual.
The Art of Mixing Styles
Another key element of the space's success is its ability to blend different styles and periods. The vintage light fixture stands out against the modern decor, while the high-backed chairs add a touch of elegance. "I think it's such a good example of how a space can be manly but still elegant and welcoming," our host observed. This balance of old and new is what makes the space truly special.
The Result: A Gentleman's Pad
As we look around at Tyler's Abode, it becomes clear that this is more than just a home - it's an extension of his personality. "I hope you guys like it," he said with a smile. "I hope you can glean some tips from there for your space." Whether you're a bachelor or not, the lessons learned in Tyler's Abode are sure to be valuable. As we leave this incredible space, we can't help but feel inspired by its unique style and sophistication.

"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enlast time on Hollywood home this is the dining room dining that's not the look you're going for right this is an old rug that uh used to belong to my mom don't put the rug in this space I'm mainly attracted to things that are a little bit more toned down even just like the color of the sage darkwoods leather okay great but he also likes pattern Blues red textures like the Ceramics and some glazed poy some Crystal and also some gold are we ready for our home home knock knock I'm Mr Kate you don't even need the introduction you already know who this is I'm Mr Kate I'm here I'll take a look at your place our for a while and help you find your style we and we'll paint Mr Kate oh I'm Mr Kate we are here at Tyler's house I am so amped to get started he had gross paint on the walls before there was patching done from electrical work I mean he is in desperate need of just like fullon everything so last time Kate and Joey were here we talked through all the Inspirations for the house and the way I wanted it to look and I'm feeling really good about it now I feel like the teacher yeah about to admonish the student who didn't finish I didn't get quite as far as his homework it was more work than anticipated but the color looking good right I mean this white is one of my favorite because there's so many different shades of white this one I love it's really elegant it's the designer white there's an infinite amount of white because there are different tones and designer white is a great glamorous white and it's going to really highlight the Spanish design of this house I am so obsessed with that fixture it's one of my favorite chandeliers ever on planet Earth I think at first I was pick piing the chandelier to be kind of more traditional something Spanish style that would have made sense in this house and when Kate sent me the link to the one that we ended up going with I just fell in love with it it totally changed my mind about which direction to go in be a lot of light scon is guys we have mixed Metals I went also architectural with the sconces which are kind of rectangles outlines they're manly but the shades sort of soften them a bit and they don't distract from the chandelier after you're done with the bulbs let's bring the table in so that nobody clonks their head on this beautiful thing all right so this is the rug FR here yeah Tyler has so many great vintage drugs to choose from which were really the spark of the design for the overall color palette of this SP I love how you know vintage they are and I also like the kind of pastel tone down colors we only had one of them in the house that I grew up in and then the other two were in storage we'll bring in the table we'll see how it all looks now that we have the light up line yeah I think that's good all right drop it down well obviously it's not this let's unveil nice Tyler got this awesome table it's really just a solid dark wood it has a pedestal base which is really nice if you have legs sometimes you can kick them and since that room is really a pass through room I wanted it to be nice to move around I'm excited that we're not doing matchy matchy with the cuz I don't like dining sets that's like my pet PE people buy like the table and chairs together and it's like you're missing an opportunity you don't have to match your dining room chairs to your dining table actually please don't let's start a movement it's an opportunity to add interest we want to kind of line up on top of this right I think that makes sense right so there are a few big things that I know I want to have in the dining room one of them is a big painting that I got in an auction a few years ago and I love it and I think it'll be a cool statement piece I also have a portrait of my great-grandfather that his wife at the time actually did it's been in storage for years and it's never really been up on the wall and I just think it'll look cool somewhere what do we say 12 right 12 and and you're saying the top of the door frame right yeah yeah you just basically measure between the moldings find your Center spot and then figure out how high the doors are and do the same thing in the middle of room is our Center yeah yeah 58 2 is what wait stupid that I'm just standing here yeah 29 Tyler come up up up we're centered all right I think you're good let's put our anchors in what did we measure wrong let's leave it and see what Kate thinks you probably won't even notice yeah check it out wow but it's slower do you think it's too low we thought we could get away with it but Kate noticed pretty quick guys it's too low we're going again let's do it again it's not that big of a deal we can move it up 6 in so 96 right yeah 96 in pain so I'm hanging my first curtain rod and Joey's leaving me hanging he's standing there on his cell phone and I'm trying to do something I've never done before thanks Joey yep so Tyler has these pomegranates that grow around his house and they played a big part in our mood board so I love the idea of creating these clay pomegranates you may be wondering why we've taken a break from your dining room decor what is this cookie dough no it is not cookie dough she's got a balll of dough I don't know where this is going we have some baking products I think we're probably going to make some cookies or something it's salt dough so I wanted to give you a centerpiece on your dining room table that represents this house that you love because the pomegranates aren't going to be fruiting all the time I thought we could make clay pomegranate you just mix flour and salt and water you mold it and then you bake it it and it becomes hard and then after we're done baking it we're going to paint it with just some basic acrylic paints yeah making M beat balls I'm pretty sure I'm going to win this pomegranate making challenge look it that looks like a boob it's not done yet clearly Kate thought my pomegranate looked a little bit like a boob but I was proud of it okay so now we're going to stick them in the oven bake them and then we'll cool sounds good love it all right Tyler get out of here vanished for the first time which is a weird feeling being asked to leave your own room we're putting all the final touches on this room finishing hanging the curtain rods we got the curtains going in aren't these pretty did you see these they have like a linen which is going to bring in the chairs I wanted the curtains to have a more geometric shape and really bring height to the space cuz we hung the rods up nice and high just using a spouncer in different colors of red and a little bit of tan I'm just sort of creating a nice modeled look on the dried and hard pomegranate I really like the tray from the flea Marketplace center it's round it's a great shape and then I found this Orange Bowl that has a little bit of metal accents which is the perfect container a little buganvilla and a vintage peacock is the perfect little accessory without being over the top we're going to bring in his crazy light that he bought which is like a old film set light which I think is a really cool thing for him to have in this Hollywood home and I also wanted to bring in a natural element for besides our clay pomegranate which of course is a stick Tyler come on in close your eyes close your eyes close your eyes close your eyes close eyes close close one two 3 go wow holy that looks great grandp great grandpa right I love it it's perfect it's toned down and it's elegant and it's not cluttered and it's got the two pieces of artwork in it that I really wanted to feature as well as the lamp which looks so damn cool sitting in the corner so I've always wanted to have like a cool vintage movie stage light I looked at hundreds of them and went to different shops and over the years I think I've always known I wanted to get one so even though it probably wasn't the most practical first purchase it was actually like literally the first thing I bought for the house look at these well I didn't have a ton of face but they actually kind of turned out real I know mine looks a little like a horror movie but your put one one in there I think that the pairing works I love these high back chairs it's like very and I love the texture of these too so originally I sent Kate some links to some dining room sets that I thought looked kind of cool and she was very hard-lined about not doing a full set cuz she didn't want it to match too much now that I've seen the chairs in the room she was completely right it looks perfect great it looks great it looks perfect I love it I think it's going to look yeah the curtains look great those curtain rods are amazing here wait oh wait wait here switch me seeds yeah there you go yeah I I I don't have the right the right chair but but yeah something like that Tyler looks amazing sitting right in front of his great-grandfather talk about the head of the table I can see where Tyler gets his gentlemanly composure Tyler I can tell that you genuinely like it and that you genuinely want to have people over and that you genuinely want to invite me over and cook me dinner at that table you are not just a bachelor you are a gentleman can't wait to do the rest of your house I love your style having seen what they did with the dining room I'm super confident about the rest of the house the next time we're here you're going to make us dinner maybe we'll bring a date May we'll bring a date we'll bring a date when we do the master bedroom how about that okay okay easy cell all right Bachelor Pat okay you know what what I think instead of calling it The Bachelor Pad we now have to call it the gentleman's pad it is very gentlemanly that's like an art gallery in his dining room that is it's incredible all those old items look amazing with the new stuff and I think it's such a good example of how a space can be manly but still elegant and welcoming and have light colors in it and we totally nailed his style I mean obviously we did it with him but like it's just such a unique style to him it's a style of sophistication yes and gentlemen gentl well I hope you guys like it I hope you guys can glean some tips from there for your space if you are a bachelor or not ladies I mean there's stuff in there for ladies as well I
