Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra UNBOXING - Competitors Take NOTE!

**Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra: A Detailed Review**

There is no expandable storage on the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra, which has been the case for quite some time now. However, this lack of expansion has not stopped Samsung from incorporating other innovative features into the device. One such feature is a large vapor chamber that will become apparent when Zack opens up the device to examine it further.

Upon opening up the device, we can see that the top section is dominated by a single microphone. The left-hand side of the device features the volume rocker and power button, while the right-hand side is completely devoid of any features. Moving on to the bottom of the device, we find a SIM card tray, a USB Type-C port, and a single button that fires the speaker. Additionally, there is a small hole in the device where the S Pen can be inserted.

The S Pen is one of the most distinctive features of the Samsung Galaxy series, and it has remained largely unchanged from last year's model. The pen still measures 4.3 inches long and weighs approximately 1.2 ounces. It also boasts a latency time of just 2.8 milliseconds, making it incredibly responsive. Users will be able to use the S Pen as a trigger for the camera, as well as for handwriting recognition in many Google apps.

**Battery Life and Charging**

The Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra features a large 5000mAh battery, which is identical to that of the S22 Ultra. While this may seem like a significant amount of power, it's worth noting that the device will likely become even more efficient with the new chip set. This should result in improved battery life and potentially longer-lasting battery life throughout the day.

Charging on the device has also remained unchanged, supporting up to 45 watts for fast charging. However, users will need to purchase a separate charger to take advantage of this feature. Wireless charging is still available on the device, with support for up to 15 watts. Additionally, Samsung's "power share" feature allows users to charge other devices on the back of the phone using reverse wireless charging.

**Software and Pricing**

The Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra ships out of the box with Android 13 and One UI 5.1, which is an incremental update from last year's model. Samsung has committed to providing four generations of Android OS updates and five years of security updates, making this one of the most robust software support offerings in the industry.

When it comes to pricing, the device starts at the same price point as the S22 Ultra in the US, with a starting price of $1200 for 256GB of storage. However, users who are interested in purchasing the higher-end model will be pleased to know that they can get up to 512GB of storage for the same price. Additionally, Samsung is offering an exclusive promotion that includes up to $150 of instant credit and a trade-in program.

**First Impressions**

My first impressions of the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra are overwhelmingly positive. While it's not a revolutionary device, it does feel like a well-rounded upgrade from last year's model. The new chip set is certainly exciting, as is the potential for improved battery life. One question that I have is whether or not it's worth upgrading to this device if you're currently using an S22 Ultra.

For those who are coming from an older Samsung device, such as the S21 Ultra or Note 20 Ultra, I think this will be a good upgrade. However, for those who already own an S22 Ultra and don't feel like they need any of the new features, it may not be worth upgrading just yet.

I'll be doing a detailed comparison of this device with the S22 Ultra in a future video, so stay tuned for that. In the meantime, I'd love to hear your thoughts on the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra. Do you think it's worth the upgrade? Let me know down below in the comments section.

"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: en- What's up guys?Saf here on SuperSaf TV andit's here in the studio, the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra. One of the first videoswith this in the world. So a thumbs up for yourboy would be appreciated. Now I know guys, I know itlooks a lot like the S22 Ultra. We will do a side by sidecomparison later on in the videoso stay tuned for that.Let's initially get it out of the box.So a slightly differentdesign for the box.We do have a picture of the S23 Ultrarather than the traditional S.And this box has been madewith 100% recycled materials, which is great. Now we are immediately presentedwith what seemed like a blackversion of the S23 Ultrabut this is just a back cover, which is made out of paper. And then we are presentedwith the S23 Ultra. We're going to put thatto the side for a secondwhile we see what elsewe get inside the box.And inside the top portion of the box,we do have a pack whichincludes the sim card tool, some paperwork, as well as the USB type Cto USB type C cable. And no, we do not get a chargerincluded out of the box.I have to keep saying this becausepeople will still askwhy is there no charger? There hasn't been a chargerfor the past few years people. Now let's get to the device. So we do have a paper screen protector, which we'll remove.Always so, so satisfying. And here it is, the S23Ultra in all of its glory. Now this is the cream version. It's also available ina phantom black, green,as well as a lavenderalthough there are some exclusive colorsthat you can get directlyfrom samsung.com.There's a graphite, a skyblue, a lime, as well as a red.Now if you are thinkingof buying the S23 Ultra, let me just tell you thatyou can get up to $150of exclusive instant Samson creditusing my special affiliate linkdown in the description below. And you'll also be ableto get double the storage512 gigabytes for theprice of 256 gigabytes. So once again, don't forget that link.Anyway, back to the S23 Ultra. Now you can tell straight awaythat this is a very incremental updatein terms of the design, at least. Now if I do bring in the S22 Ultrafor a side by side comparison, you can see that thingare very, very familiar. The S23 Ultra is just a few grams heavierand we have the same triple ring design. The two differences that we do haveare firstly, the edges are now less curvedcompared to the S22 Ultra, which gives you moreof a flat surface areaand even more of a boxylook, which I do like. And also the camera rings are now largerbecause of the new cameras, which we'll talk about a little bit later. So if you have a SamsungGalaxy S22 Ultra caseand you are wondering if it'sgoing to fit the S23 Ultrathen no, unfortunatelyit's not going to fit.Right now this is still IP68water and dust resistant. We have armor aluminum for the frameand we have Gorilla GlassVictus 2 for the front and back. Now this is one of the first deviceswith Gorilla Glass Victus 2,which improves dropperformance on rough surfaceslike concrete.I'm not going to drop this to find out,but I'm sure others will do.And we've also got 22%recycled glass, which is great. And we've got doublethe recycle componentscompared to what we had last year.So there's 12 recycledcomponents instead of six.Now let's turn this around andtake a look at the display.Once again, the displayis very, very familiar. We've got the Infinity-O cutout, which allows me to get verycreative with wallpapers. And this is a beautiful display, dynamic AMOLED 2Xtechnology for great colors. You do have quad HD plus resolution, which makes things very, very sharp. An adaptive refresh rate with 120 hertzmaking things very smooth. And this is using LTPO 3.0 technologyand it can go all the waydown to just one hertzmaking things very efficient. Now the peak brightness isstill the same as last yearso it is 1750 nits, which is very bright, not as bright as the iPhone 14 Pro Max.But Samsung is now using advancedvision booster technology, which adapts the display basedon the lighting around it.And it's supposed to dothis very efficiently. Now we still have the ultrasonicin display fingerprint scanner. This is the 3D sonic sensor from Qualcommand it is my favorite fingerprint scanner. It's the same as whatwe've got on the S22 Ultra, but that's not necessarily a bad thingbecause it works really well.Right, we have to nowtalk about the cameras. So what's new?Well, the front facingcamera is completely new. It's a new 12 megapixel sensorwith dual pixel also focus. Now this is going to allowyou to focus in closerfor your selfies. It's something that theS22 Ultra didn't have, but I know you guys really want to talkabout the refacing cameras. So as before, we do have aquad refacing camera set up.There's an ultra wide camera, which is 12 megapixels. This has ultra focus, whichmeans you can go in closerfor macro shots with this too. There are two 10 megapixeltelephoto cameras. One is at three times andthe other is at 10 times. You can extend that up to100 times for space zoom. And if you really like totake pictures of the moon. Now as far as I can see, these three cameras arepretty much the sameas what we had last year. However, we do have a newISP image signal processorwith the new chip set, which we'll be talkingabout a little bit later. The biggest hardwareimprovement for the camerasis the new 200 megapixel primary camera. Now this is going to allow you to capturelots and lots of detailand in low light it'll allowyou to combine 16 pixelsinto one for improvedlow light performance. And in good light you cancombine four pixels into oneto get high resolution50 megapixel images. There's also improved OIS,so it's two times wideroptical image stabilization. Now we have export raw up to 50 megapixelsallowing you lots of control. And astrophotography as wellif you want to go out in themiddle of nowhere with a tripod, which I'm probably not going to be doing. What I will be doing however, of courseis the Super Saf stylecamera comparison of thisversus the iPhone 14 Pro Max.If you want to see that, make sure you smash that like buttonand also subscribe and hit that bell iconso you're the first to see it.I'm going to get workingon it straight away. We've also got some bigimprovements for video.Firstly 8K 30 frames a second.Traditionally, Samsung deviceshave only been able to shootat 8k 24 frames a second.24 frames a second is mypreferred frame rate to shoot at.However, this was notconsistent with the frame ratesof the other cameras. Now you've got 8K at 30 frames a secondand also it's not goingto crop in as much.Samsung devices traditionallycrop in quite heavily on 8k,but now it's not going to do that. You've now got portrait video in 4k.Before it was just at 1080p.And you've also got supersteady at Quad HD resolution. Before it was at 1080pand it really hadn't changedfor quite a few years.I mean, I was complaining about that.I'm sure Samsung watched my videoand brought this improvement. It's either that, maybe not.But Apple did introduce high resolutionfor their portrait video, which is cinematic videoand their action mode, which is the equivalent of super steady. So it looks like Samsungis trying to match that. There's also super HDRvideo 4K 60 frames a second.Again, I'm going to be testingall of these things out.Now some of theseimprovements as mentionedcome thanks to the newimage signal processor, which is part of the new chip set.And that is the Snapdragon8 Gen 2 for Galaxy. Now both Samsung and Qualcomm have saidthat this is the most powerful Snapdragonon any device right now,and this is because it'sgot a high clock speedcompared to the regular Gen 2.And in terms ofimprovements over last year, you're looking at around34% faster CP performanceand up to 41% faster GPU performance. Now that obviously meansthis is going to beone of the fastest devices out there, but what's more important is the factthat this is the chip setthat's going to be on across the board. So whether you are in Europe or the US,you're still going toget that same 8 Gen 2for Galaxy chip sets.Traditionally, Samsung deviceshave an excellent chip setin Europe and they have theSnapdragon chip set in the USand there's been years of endless debateon which one is better at what. And for me mainly it's justbeen a case of inconsistency. If you are in different region, you're going to be having aslightly different experience, which isn't the best. However, now 8 Gen 2across the board, love it.Now the speed and performanceis also going to be helpedby the RAM and storage. So we do have LPDDR5 plusRAM 8 gigabytes as a base, which is going to come withthe 256 gigabyte version, but you do get 12 gigabytes with the 512or one terabyte version. Now this is also USF 4.0 storage. So again, it's very, very fast storage. And I still have to say thisbecause so many peoplestill comment about this. No, there is no expandable storage. There hasn't been for quite some time. Now we've also got a large vapor chamber. When Zack opens this up, we'llfind out exactly how big.Now let's take a quicklook around the device. So on the top we just have a mic.On the left hand side,we have the volume rockeras well as the power button.Nothing on the right hand side.At the bottom we have a sim card tray. There's a USB type C port, there's one button firing speakerand this pairs up with thespeaker in the ear piecegiving you stereospeakers with Dolby Atmos. And then of course wehave this little thing. This is the S Pen.Now the S Pen hasn't actually changedcompared to what it was last year.So it is practically the same S Pen.Shall I try to put in theS22 Ultra S Pen into here?It might break, but let's try it.- A few moments later.- All right, here goes nothing. This is the S22 Ultra S Penand yeah, it fits. It's exactly the same.So yeah, the S Pen, 2.8milliseconds of latency, which is still really, really good. And you can still use it remotelyso you can use it as atrigger for your camera. And you've also gothandwriting recognition, which is going to workacross many more Google apps.Right, now for the battery,we do have the same size batteryas the S22 Ultra 5,000 milliamps, which is still a big battery. And with the new chip set, itshould make it more efficientgiving you better battery life.Of course I'll be testing that outand giving you my trueexperience in the full review. And charging hasn't changed. So you do have support of up to 45 watts.Again, you're going to haveto buy that charger separatelyand we do have wireless charging. So it's up to 15 watts. And you can also charge other deviceson the back of this withreverse wireless charging, which Samsung calls power share.Right now for the software, this does come out ofthe box with Android 13with Samsung's One UI 5.1.Samsung has promised fourgenerations of Android OS updatesand five years of security updates, which is some of the best out there. Finally, pricing. So this does start at the same priceas the S22 Ultra did last year in the US.So that's $1,200 and for that price, you're going to be gettingdouble the storage 256 gigabytes. However, if you use my affiliate linkdown in the description below, you'll actually get 512 gigabytesfor that price of $1,200.Plus, you can alsoexclusively get up to $150of instant Samsung credit. Now these offers are notgoing to last too longso if you are thinking aboutit, do act on that soon. There's also some good trading dealsalthough they are notas good as last year.If you are in the UK however, the price has increased. So it starts at 1,250 pounds, but that is for the 256 gigabyte version. So if you compare it tothe S22 Ultra 256 gigabytesthat we had last year, thenthat is the same price.Plus, you still do getthe offer of 512 gigabytesfor the price of 256.And that is the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra. What are my first impressions?Well, of course this isan incremental update, but I'm really excitedabout the new chip setand the new cameras. Now, I know a lot of you guysare going to be asking meis it worth operating fromthe S22 Ultra to this? Now my first impressions are no,the S22 Ultra is still a great deviceand you can hold onto itfor at least another year, maybe a few more. But if you are comingfrom maybe an S21 Ultraand you're thinking of upgradingor maybe even the Note 20 Ultra, then I think this will be a good upgrade. Now that's just my first impressions. If you do want me to doa detailed comparisonof this versus the S22 Ultrato look at all of thedifferences SuperSaf style, definitely let me knowdown to the comments below. And also if you want me to compare thisto say the S21 Ultra.what do you guys thinkof at the S23 Ultra?Definitely let me know also.I'm going to leave some relatedvideos linked here and here.Don't forget, there's lotsmore coverage coming upon here Super Saf style. So do subscribe, hit that like bell icon.I hope you enjoyed this videoand found it and saw it.If you did, do smashthat like button for me.Thanks for watching. This is Saf on SuperSaf
