HyperX Cloud Revolver Headset Hands-On _ CES

HEY EVERYONE, I'M STEVE FROM GAMERS NEXUS.NET AND WE'RE HERE AT KINGSTON AND THE HYPERX SUITES AT CES 2016 TODAY.

We're here to take a closer look at the new Revolver headset from HyperX. As a follow-up to their popular Cloud and Cloud 2 headsets, the Revolver promises to bring some exciting new features to the table. Before we dive in, I want to thank our sponsor, iY Power's Revolt 2 small form factor gaming PC.

Now, let's take a look at the Revolver headset itself. One of the most noticeable changes from its predecessors is the suspension headband design. This feature is also found in Steel Series headsets like the Siberia series, and it provides a more comfortable fit for users. The headband consists of two metal bars that move up and down as you adjust the headset to your head size. This design helps to distribute weight evenly and reduces pressure points.

The drivers on the Revolver are 50mm units, but we don't know much about the diaphragm technology or material used just yet. We do know that they're designed to provide a wide soundstage, which should be beneficial for users who play more FPS-style games. The ear cups are closed-back, and the headset is designed to block out external noise.

One thing to note is that the Revolver does not feature Dolby Atmos or 3D surround technology. It's a standard stereo headset, but it should still provide an immersive gaming experience for users. As for pricing, we're looking at around $120 when it launches in Q2. This puts it in line with other high-end gaming headsets on the market.

It's worth noting that there will be another headset in the Revolver lineup, called the Revolver S. This surround headset features Dolby Atmos and 3D surround technology, as well as an inline dongle with a toggle for activating these features. The dongle also includes up/down volume buttons for easy control of the microphone input levels.

Another feature of the Revolver S is that the microphone is detachable, like on previous HyperX headsets. This should provide users with more flexibility and convenience when it comes to using their headset.

That's about all we know about the Revolver headset right now. We'll have to wait until review time approaches for more detailed specifications and information about its performance.
