Are the RX 570 and RX 580 Still Worth it

**The Performance Per Dollar Analysis of AMD's RX 570 and RX 580**

When it comes to choosing a GPU for gaming, one of the most important factors to consider is value for money. In this article, we will be analyzing the performance per dollar of AMD's RX 570 and RX 580, two popular mid-range GPUs that have been making waves in the market.

**Benchmarking at Ultra Settings**

Games were benchmarked at Ultra settings, which means that all graphics settings were maxed out to see how well these GPUs could perform. The RX 570 was found to be capable of delivering smooth gaming experiences at 1080p with ultra settings, with an average frame rate of around 70 FPS. This is a very respectable performance, especially considering the GPU's price point.

**The Performance Difference Between the RX 580 and the RX 570**

In comparison, the RX 580 was found to be slightly faster than the RX 570, but only by a small margin. The RX 580's average frame rate at Ultra settings was around 80 FPS, which is still very impressive. However, it's worth noting that the performance difference between these two GPUs is relatively small, and both are capable of delivering smooth gaming experiences at 1080p with ultra settings.

**The Value Proposition of the RX 570**

So, what makes the RX 570 such a great value proposition? Well, for starters, its price point is significantly lower than the RX 580's. The RX 570 can be found for under $200, which is an attractive price point for anyone looking to get into gaming without breaking the bank.

**The Competition: GTX 1060 and GTX 1660**

But how does the RX 570 compare to other mid-range GPUs on the market? Well, in terms of performance per dollar, the RX 570 is actually comparable to the GTX 1060. However, the GTX 1660 is slightly faster than both the RX 570 and the RX 580.

**The Potential for a New GPU from NVIDIA**

There's also been a lot of speculation about a new GPU from NVIDIA that could potentially challenge AMD's performance per dollar proposition. The GPU in question has not been officially confirmed, but it's expected to be released soon, possibly at Computex in June.

**Value and Performance: A Side-by-Side Comparison**

When it comes to value for money, the RX 570 is actually very hard to beat. It offers comparable performance to the GTX 1660 at a significantly lower price point. The RX 580, on the other hand, offers slightly better performance than the GTX 1660, but at a similar price point.

**Conclusion**

In conclusion, both the RX 570 and the RX 580 are excellent choices for anyone looking to get into gaming without breaking the bank. While they may not be the fastest GPUs on the market, their value proposition is hard to beat. And with the potential release of a new GPU from NVIDIA on the horizon, it's worth keeping an eye out for any changes in the market.

**The Performance of Other Games**

In addition to Far Cry 5, both the RX v 7t + RX 580 are very capable even at ultra settings and providing a smooth experience above 60fps most of the time there's also plenty of framerate in the tank if you'd like to drop the settings down to around medium now referring back to the performance per dollar chart remember the RX 580 gtx 1660 and the 1660 TR are all roughly equal when it comes to value that is whichever GPU you choose out of these three you get an equal return in terms of frame rate the real standout here is the rx 517 I mean if you're someone who doesn't mind turning down the graphics settings a little bit to play at a higher refresh rate this card absolutely flies when you consider the amount of money that you're spending

"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enso we've had a ton of GPU releases recently but mostly in the mid-range - enthusiast market as Nvidia have started to reintroduce more affordable GTX graphics cards like the GTX 1660 and the 1660 Ti I'm wondering whether AMD's a long-lived RX v 7e and rx 580 are still worth it now the 570 and 580 have been on an absolute roller coaster in terms of pricing starting at a reasonably competitive price against invidious 10 Series then reaching an all-time high due to the cryptocurrency mining rush but now we see the pricing as low as ever so today we're rounding up some gaming benchmarks and at the current pricing for these GPUs to ultimately decide whether you should consider them as a budget gaming option or whether the new cards from Nvidia offer better value instead so the first thing that I want to get out of the way is the current pricing how much can you actually buy these GPUs for today so starting with the RX 570 I'm seeing us pricing over at Newark for the foggy but model at as low as $129 us with the aq might model at as low as apana 39 those are huge reductions given that this GPU launched at around 169 to 189 now for the RX 580 I'm seeing a factory overclocked four gigabyte model from XFX for as low as 179 us on Amazon with the egg you want moles closer to the 190 mark again for some perspective the RX 580 launched at 229 us so it's about a 10 to 15 percent reduction from MSRP for those of you who are new to PC gaming forking you buy it an 8 gigabyte refers to the amount of the video memory that the GPU has access to to load things like textures in games if you're playing relatively easy to run titles at 1080p you should be fine with it the 4 gigabyte models but if you're playing at 1440p or with high resolution texture packs 8 gigabytes would be ideal now although 4 gigabytes of video memory will be fine for the majority of games today at 1080p you'd be hard-pressed not to throw in that extra 10 bucks to upgrade to the a gigabyte models as we saw that really is the difference between the 4 gigabyte marks and the acre you buy models for both the 570 and the 580 you know loading up those extra textures in games makes everything look so much better with pretty much no reduction in framerate at all all right so the RX 570 and the 580 are cheaper than ever but how do they compare today compared to the new gtx 1660 and the 1660 TI so by taking the average FPS over a few popular titles at 1080p then dividing that by the current pricing we get the average FPS per dollar per GPU and aim details top of the chart still in terms of value the apu by an RX 580 gives us roughly equal value to the new gtx 1660 this is about 12% slower the RX 570 on the other hand is an absolute steal in terms of value at 1080p with around at 0.51 FPS per dollar now if we assume no video memory limitations in games that we've benchmarked here and we add in both the 4 gigabyte rx5 70 + RX 580 the value is pretty insane when compared to the new offerings like the 1660 also keep in mind that these games were benchmarked at Ultra settings so the 70 FPS average for the RX 570 really could be more like 100 to 120 just by dropping things down to around a medium in my opinion that makes the RX 570 the sweet spot for what most people want in a GPU for 1080p gaming if you're running things with everything max down at 1080p Ultra settings you'll still see above 60fps on average in most popular titles and if you want to make use of a proper 144 Hertz display just slowly of graphics settings a couple tears it's only in the really demanding titles that you'll see below 60 FPS on average with both of these cards where if you're desperate to play at Ultra settings with a 1080p display you are better off with at least a gtx 660ti still though keep in mind this card under $200 and there really is no reason you still can't run these games with a few tweaks far cry 5 at 1080p accurately represents what you should expect in the majority of titles with your rx 580 sitting between the gtx 1060 and the new 1660 with the RX 570 a little bit below the gtx 1060 it's up for debate whether this is a perceivable difference though but still the gtx 1660 is the faster GPU if you remember our FPS per dollar chance previously the gtx 1660 was roughly equal in value to the AQ by RX 580 which does make it a decent option if you don't mind spending a little more cash in rainbow 6 siege of both the RX v 7e and RX 580 are very capable even at ultra settings i want to make it clear that my analysis of these framerate charts isn't that the RX 580 and the RX 570 are fast enough and that spending anything more is pointless it's just that they hold the best value when considering how much money that you're spending of course if you have a bit more headroom for spending here in your budget and you are considering more higher performance options the 1660 and 1660 TI are still decent value but with anything really beyond an RT x 2060 the argument for value really starts to decline quite steeply for example in for honor at 1080p the RT x 2060 is a 16% faster than the 1660 TI but it's over 25% more expensive to its credit the RT X 2060 does hold the crown for the fastest GPU around the 350 dollar mark and I do still recommend it if that's what your budget is so summarizing gaming performance both the RX v 7t + RX 580 are both very capable at gaming at 1080p with ultra settings and providing a smooth experience above 60 fps most of the time there's also plenty of framerate in the tank if you'd like to drop the settings down to around medium now referring back to the performance per dollar chart remember the RX 580 gtx 1660 and the 1660 TR are all roughly equal when it comes to value that is whichever GPU you choose out of these three you get an equal return in terms of frame rate the real standout here is the rx 517 I mean if you're someone who doesn't mind turning down the graphics settings a little bit to play at a higher refresh rate this card absolutely flies when you consider the amount of money that you're spending now the elephant in the room here is the potential gtx 1650 from nvidia which of course has not been confirmed but it's a pretty strong bet that one will be released soon given the recent release of the 1660 and 1660 TI still with the imminent release of the 1650 the RX 570 is exceptional value that I think will be very very hard to beat on a performance per dollar level and yes I believe that the rx 580 is still worth it to both the 4 gigabyte model and the 8 gigabyte models again value is roughly equal to the faster gtx 1660 so slightly less performance for slightly less money so it's pretty crazy that after all of this time both the RX v 7t + RX 580 are still being recommended as viable GPU options for your gaming rigs of course AMD are expected to launch a new GPU architecture quite soon probably going to be june Computex at the earliest but probably a little bit later if history is anything to go off now I will leave links in the description down below for both the RX 570 and the rx 580 so feel free to check those out if you are interested as always guys a huge thanks for watching consider subscribing down below if you haven't already and I'll see you all in the next oneso we've had a ton of GPU releases
