The Nokia Lumia 900: A Revolutionary Addition to the Windows Phone Family
As I stepped onto the stage at Pepcom, CES 2012, I couldn't help but feel a sense of excitement and anticipation. My fellow TechnoBuffalo crew members, John Ringer and John Q, were already big fans of some of us, particularly when it comes to our love for Windows Phone Mango. However, there was one thing that had been holding me back from fully embracing the platform - the lack of a front-facing camera on the Nokia Lumia 800.
I must admit, I've always been drawn to the sleek and stylish design of the Nokia Lumia 800. The cyan blue polycarbonate, black display, and overall feel of the device were all major selling points for me. But, as much as I love talking about video chat being the killer app that it is, there's something about looking at myself on camera that really resonates with me. Luckily, my concerns were addressed when Nokia announced the launch of their new phone, the Lumia 900.
The Lumia 900 is an AT&T exclusive, featuring a stunning 4.3-inch display with AMOLED technology and clear back design. The device boasts an impressive array of camera features, including 8 megapixels on the back, capable of capturing 720p video. But what really sets this phone apart from its predecessor is the inclusion of a front-facing camera, which I can only assume is part of Nokia's effort to cater to our visual selves.
Now, I know some might say that having a front-facing camera isn't necessary, but for me, it's always been about taking selfies. And with the Lumia 900, I'll finally have the opportunity to do so without any issues. The phone also comes equipped with Windows Phone Mango, providing a unique and refreshing user experience.
But what really caught my attention during the press conference was when Stephen Elop, CEO of Nokia, took questions from attendees. When I asked if the Lumia 900 would be available on Verizon Wireless as well, he provided an answer that will undoubtedly spark excitement among fans - it's coming to Verizon, and soon. This news comes on the heels of the phone being released exclusively with AT&T, making it a must-have device for anyone looking to experience Windows Phone in the US.
The Lumia 900 also boasts impressive specs, including a faster processor, bigger battery, and improved performance compared to its predecessor. And with 4G LTE capabilities, users can enjoy seamless video streaming and fast data transfer speeds.
As I continued my conversation with Stephen Elop, I couldn't help but think about the significance of this moment in Nokia's history. The company has been working tirelessly to make a push in the US market, and it seems that their efforts are finally paying off. With the Lumia 900 leading the charge, it's clear that Windows Phone is here to stay.
