A Library Tour: Exploring My Favourite Spot After Saying Goodbye
As I stand in front of my beloved backyard, which has been a constant source of comfort and inspiration for me, I take a deep breath and begin to share with you the story of how I've come to love this place. Located in Carlsbad, San Diego, this is my home sweet home, and I'm excited to take you on a tour of every nook and cranny. If you haven't been to my channel before, then you might not have seen much of my house, but don't worry, that's about to change.
My backyard has always been a sanctuary for me, where I can escape the hustle and bustle of daily life. With a lemon tree, wild wilderness, coyotes, owls, quail, and rabbits roaming around, it's like nature's own little playground. And let's not forget my trusty sidekick, Louie - my lovable dog who always seems to bring a smile to my face. As I look back on my life, this backyard has been a constant source of joy and inspiration for me.
As I live in a place that will be empty by the time you watch this video, I thought it was only fitting to share with you where I call home. So, without further ado, let's get started on our library tour. My journey begins at my beloved Carlsbad city library, which has been a staple of my life for years. The last time I visited was closer to three years ago, due to the COVID-19 pandemic that kept me away from my hometown.
Luckily, the library has undergone some changes since then, and I'm excited to explore its new layout. As I enter the building, I'm greeted by a beautiful sight - a spacious seating area that's perfect for studying or just relaxing. But what really caught my attention is the old children's section, which still retains its charm despite the recent renovations.
My love affair with the library began in the children's section, where I spent countless hours reading and learning. Over time, I've moved on to explore the entire library, discovering new authors, genres, and topics that have expanded my knowledge and imagination. Today, I'm excited to show you around this wonderful space and share some of my favorite books with you.
Before we delve into the nitty-gritty of the library tour, let's take a break and grab some brunch at one of my favourite local eateries. There's nothing like fueling up for a fun-filled day ahead. As I walk out of the restaurant, I'm met with the warm sunshine and a sense of excitement for what's to come.
As we make our way back to the library, I notice that there are actually two Carlsbad city libraries - one being the old location where I used to spend hours as a child. Although my memories of it are a bit fuzzy due to the fact that it's been renovated since then, I'm still excited to explore its new layout.
Back at the library, we're greeted by an array of interesting features, including a gallery that showcases local art and photography. I've only been in here once before, but I'm eager to see what's new and exciting. As I make my way through the exhibit, I notice some of the changes they've made since my last visit - electronic book return boxes that scan your books for you, which is a game-changer.
As we come to an end of our library tour, I want to say thank you to all my fans who have been following me on this journey. It's been an absolute pleasure sharing with you where I live and what makes it special to me. And as I look around at the beautiful surroundings that are about to become a distant memory, I know that I'll always cherish these moments. So until next time, farewell for now!
"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enGreetings everyone! Bookshelf update: the rainbow bookshelf is gone. It's very sad. So today we are going on my promised library tour. I haven't been to my - let me get into better light you can see my my lovely backyard - if you don't watch my main channel, you haven't seen much of my house. We've got this cute little backyard, got a lemon tree,we've got the wilderness, saw a bunch of coyotes and owls recently, lots of quail and rabbits. We have our seating area - anyway. So yeah I live, I can tell you now exactly where I live because I'm moving, by the time that you see this I will not be here. That monarch butterfly is really big but I don't think I can capture it - can you guys see that? She big. So I am from San Diego, more specifically I'm from Carlsbad. I went to San Marcos High School if any of you guys are watching, go Knights. I haven't been to the Carlsbad city library in closer to three years due to not being able to come home because of corona, all that stuff. They redid a little bit of it so some of it's gonna be new to me. I think maybe because of social distancing, the seating isn't gonna be that great but it's a lovely little place, I wrote many many a research paper there. I started off in the children's section and I've moved on to free reign of the whole place so yeah I'm gonna take you there but first we're just gonna make a day of it, and we're actually gonna go to one of my favorite like diner kind of restaurants and I don't know if we'll stop by but there is another library - there's two Carlsbad city libraries. I don't know if we'll stop in that one, probably not because that's not the one that I go to - I don't have as many memories there because they kind of redid it since I was a child and I used to go there. Long story short, we're gonna get brunch, we're gonna go to the library, and then we're gonna come back and read because I have so many books that I need to read and I'll talk to you about them. So there's my dog, everybody loved Louie from my previous video. Want to say hi to your fans? Say hi to your fans! Show off your tail, people didn't see your tail in the previous one. Anyway so yeah I'm going to see you guys later - oh my god he's just the cutest dog.Anyway yeah let's go, let's go eat (look at that wingspan geez) All right, I'll see you guys later! We're here and there is a dog that sounds like a very angry old man, that's wild. So this is new -there is a cafe in the courtyard which didn't exist just a couple years ago, I guess it's been a couple years at this point. But this is our auditorium where we would have - I think I won a short story contest here once. That dog is crazy. They would show movies sometimes, they would have just like little events here and then here is the courtyard.Lovely, this is the cafe, we'll go there later. My parents dropped me off but they're gonna come back to visit. And then across the way here is a gallery. It was always like a photo gallery and stuff. I think I've been in there a grand total of one time. But let's go see~So this is relatively new -I'm glad she did that - so it used to be that you would drop it in in like this middle normal kind of box, like a mailbox, and then it would scan it and it would tell you like you returned x amount of books. But now it's electronic and it tells you exactly the title and all that stuff and you have to press like \"okay confirm.\" Anyway let's go in!So this is, this is the cafe now but this used to be our used bookstore. They have now moved it over there and then we can see our books being returned! Hi,now we're in the adult fiction section. This is where I discovered Murakami for the first time, walking these shelves randomly. All right back outside, I can talk. My mom is arriving, we're gonna get tea at this new cafe. But yeah so much changed. I guess I vaguely - what the - it's called a wi-fi garden?I guess I vaguely remember the new teen section but that was very weird to have it not be arranged as I liked. They also no longer have the bear that I named. They had a giant teddy bear in the children's section that they had a contest of who could name it the best and I won.I named it Hugs. Anyway, hello, now we're gonna get tea and yeah.Bye library!Hi!Hey little cutie!Louie! Nope, Louie! Louie you are so mean, come here. He's our nice neighbor. You are so cranky. Go inside if you're gonna be mean.Exposing Louie forwho he really is. He doesn't like other dogs. So I just wanted to check in, we're obviously home now.I don't know, I feel like because I only posted I've only posted twice while I've been home so far, I don't know if you could really feel it but I have been in a bit of a funk, mainly because of like moving but also just like in general in a funk. So if you felt, I don't know, I felt like my past couple of videos have been a little bit lackluster, just because I haven't been super into making content in general right now. But I am feeling a lot more refreshed. There was kind of this bump in the road about me going home to Korea which kind of threw me off but then it forced me to replan things and I think that that really kind of got my brain back into gear and so - there are ants all over me - so I'm like reinvigorated. I also am planning a video, I don't know if it'll be next or next next week but I'm gonna talk about a series that I just read, a duology, and hopefully - I've decided to make it a spoiler video - normally I try and make videos that don't have any spoilers in them because I want everybody to be able to watch them but I realized that the ones that I have the most fun with, are the ones where I am going into detail about just like the weird things that occur in the books that I read. So I'm going to be doing one of those and I've already like kind of written out the outline and I'm really hyped about it so I'm back - oh bee, please go away. So yeah I'm excited, I'm back in the game, so if you guys stuck around through this vlog - I felt like it was a very slow and in my opinion maybe a little boring, I don't know. I feel like the content creators that I love are the people who make like really fast-paced funny stuff and I just can't, I'm not not that smart, I'm not that quick-witted, I'm very chill and so and I don't have like super strong opinions on things so I feel like I'm always just kind of wishy-washy so I don't know, I was being hard on myself about my own content but I'm back, I'm feeling a lot better and so yeah thank you for sticking with me through - ouch - through this like month or so of being iffy but ready to be back at it. I hope you enjoyed the little library tour. It's been fun for me to - fun and sad for me to like go through the places that I live in that have changed so much and kind of like, I'm saying goodbye to them all because I'm moving but I almost feel like being away from home for so long because of corona was almost helpful because everything has changed so much and I feel like now it's not - like the home that I remembered because I would come home every year like for Christmas or something I could see it growing with me, you know? But for some reason, being gone for two years, it made the changes really apparent and I kind of - like my childhood home has moved on you know? And so I don't know, it's not a bad thing, it's not a good thing, it's just life. But it was nice to go to the library at least one last time, we might go back who knows. But yeah that was a where I spent - I wish I could add up all the hours, I spent a lot of a lot of time there. Soyeah thank you for joining me, I will have a very fun video up soon, I may or may not - no I'm not gonna make any promises because my plans are - just every time I make plans, they just implode. So I'm not gonna make promises further than two weeks away so I promise you a duology video I promise you \"what I read in July\" and I'm honestly gonna have to split up the what I read in July because I've read so much already and I still have like a week left. I am currently in the middle of reading Mistborn because since I started booktube, people have been on my butt about reading this, so fine I will. I also currently have Finale which is the final Caraval book. I did read Legendary, we will talk about it in my July wrap-up. I got The Untethered Soul which is a self-help book which I'm usually not about, but I'm going to give it a grand old try. And my mom got me The Overstory because my excuse for not reading it was that I just didn't have time to finish it, my library loan went away and the holds list is really long so I have no excuse anymore, I have to read it. So anyway and I've got a ton like I said, I read a bunch, a bunch this month. So I will see you guys then. Psyched for that. I don't know what that was. I'm gonna go so yeah I will catch you guys later, thank you always. This channel really is the channel that gives me, I know that I said I was like beating myself up but it was more - I don't know, I, this channel whenever I'm not feeling inspired, I know that I can kind of - I don't know, I feel more free on this channel which is weird because it's the channel that is for a very specific purpose, which is books. But who knows so I don't know I just - I feel very safe and happy here and I love you guys a lot and I love this little book community, you guys are much funnier, much more clever than I am and you inspire me every day and all that stuff. Anyway I'm gonna go before I get too mushy, clearly the caffeine is getting to me. I'll see you guys next time -Bye!\n"
