**My Favorite Books and TV Shows**
Growing up in Kentucky is a unique experience that can shape one's love for literature. For me, my favorite book set in a rural area is "Everything I Never Told You" by Celeste Ng. This novel takes place in a small town in Ohio, but its themes of family, identity, and social class are deeply rooted in the experiences of growing up in a rural area.
**Discovering New Books**
I've also had my fair share of discovering new books while browsing through bookstores or online platforms. One little-known book that caught my attention is "The Running Dream" by Wendelin Rerfner. This novel is an inspiring story about resilience and perseverance, and it's a must-read for anyone looking to be motivated and inspired.
**Books I Won't Finish**
On the other hand, there are some books that I've refused to finish or continue reading due to various reasons. One series that comes to mind is "The Immortal Series" by Aaliyah North. I read the first three books, but I just didn't connect with the story or the characters anymore, and I decided not to invest my time in finishing the rest of the series.
Another series that I won't finish is "The Caster Chronicles" or "The Beautiful Creatures Series". Although I enjoyed the first book, I didn't feel the same way about the rest of the series. There's always a risk of getting stuck with a mediocre series, and I'm not afraid to admit it if I don't enjoy something.
**Favorite TV Shows**
There are also some TV shows that have captured my attention and become favorites. One show that stands out is "Harry Potter". The adaptation of J.K. Rowling's novels into a TV series was a great idea, and each installment gets better than the last. Another favorite show of mine is "The Darkest Minds Trilogy", which is also an adaptation of a popular young adult novel.
**Book-to-Movie Adaptations**
As for book-to-movie adaptations, I think some shows get better with each iteration. One example that comes to mind is "Harry Potter". The series does get better with each installment, and the cast and crew have done an excellent job in bringing the characters to life on screen.
On the other hand, there are some books that don't quite make it to the big screen or TV adaptation. Unfortunately, I've had a few experiences where a book didn't translate well to the screen, and I'm not afraid to say so. One example is "The Selection Series" by Kiera Cass. While I enjoyed the first book, the subsequent books in the series just didn't live up to my expectations.
**Favorite Books**
When it comes to favorite books, I have a few that stand out from the rest. One of them is "All the Bright Places" by Jennifer Niven. This heart-wrenching novel explores themes of love, loss, and mental health in a poignant way. Another favorite book of mine is "The Perks of Being a Wallflower" by Stephen Chbosky.
**Favorite Authors**
As for favorite authors, I have a few who stand out from the rest. One of them is John Green, whose works are known for their wit, humor, and emotional depth. His novel "Looking for Alaska" is one of my favorites, and his collaboration with Maureen Johnson on "Let It Snow" is another must-read.
**Favorite Characters**
There's something about certain characters that just resonates with me, and I find myself drawn to them again and again. One favorite character of mine is Fred George Weasley from the Harry Potter series. He's a brilliant and hilarious wizard who always brings a smile to my face.
