How's It Going Mr Thompson?
Mr. Thompson, it's going good, going good, having some fun today, you're a new shop car, isn't that right? Yes, that's correct! We've got a new setup to test out and we're excited to see how it performs. As for the motor, Corz Performance has pulled the blower off and they did a PT88 on it, so now it's single turbo set up. It's the only front-mounted turbo on a C7 or C7Z to the best of my knowledge, at least that's what we've been told.
The current setup is using an 18-pound compressor with an 18-pound blower, and we're going to see how it does today. The car has a stock LT4 engine with a custom camshaft and springs, as well as supporting mods like push rods. However, there's one thing that hasn't been built yet – the motor itself. Mr. Thompson wants to see what this setup will handle before they build the motor, and we want to know where the limitations are for this engine.
We've also got a custom camshaft installed, which should help improve performance. The short lock is B, but there's no specific reason why it hasn't been built yet. Mr. Thompson likes to know what's strong and weak in every car before they start working on them. It's kind of their job to identify the strengths and weaknesses of each vehicle.
Just then, Cal Thompson announced that he would be moving on to Round 2 here in Phoenix, Arizona. He had achieved a great running time of 148 mph, which is impressive, especially considering it was just his first pass down the track. However, there's one car that's been sandbagging all day – the Alpha 12 GTR.
As for the best pass on the car today, Mr. Thompson mentioned that he didn't expect much more than what they had achieved. The time was around 148 and change, which is right where he expected it to be. Despite being only 12 hours old, the car seems to be working great, thanks in large part to Corz Performance's killer job on the setup.
Corz Performance did a fantastic job on this new shop car, and Mr. Thompson is extremely pleased with their work. He's looking forward to good luck with the car in the future and appreciates the effort that was put into it. As for what we can expect from this car moving forward, only time will tell, but it seems like things are off to a great start.
That Corvette leaving even harder...
...was Mr. Thompson's next comment after discussing his new shop car. He seemed to be genuinely impressed with how well the car was performing and couldn't help but compare it favorably to other cars on the track.
