Is The Galaxy Nexus Still Considered A High End Phone

The Galaxy Nexus: A High-End Android Device with Its Pros and Cons

Phones like the Galaxy Nexus are considered high-grade devices, but when compared to other flagships like the iPhone 4S and Nokia Lumia 900, it falls short. The camera is good, but not as good as expected. I use this phone a lot, and it takes decent shots, but it's just not as good as my old Nokia Lumina or the new iPhone 4S. I compared them on Phonebook.com if you guys want to check that out, but it's just not as good. I'd have the same phone if I haven't tried the S3 obviously, but once I do, I'm pretty sure it's gonna perform better than this guy considering that the S2 did.

Features like Bluetooth and NFC are also important to consider when buying a high-end phone. The Galaxy Nexus has NFC, just like the S3 and iPhone 4S, which is something to look for in a high-end device. However, the Galaxy Nexus only has Bluetooth 3.0, while the S3 and iPhone 4S have 4.0. This might not be a deal-breaker for some people, but it's still an important consideration.

The Galaxy Nexus also has a decent front-facing camera, with a resolution of 1.3 megapixels capable of 720p video recording. This is one area where the phone excels, and it's definitely worth considering when buying a high-end device.

So, is the Galaxy Nexus worth buying? The answer really comes down to software. The Galaxy Nexus will give you a pure Android experience, which might be appealing to some users. However, if you're on AT&T or Verizon, you'll have to deal with Sense UI instead of stock Android 4.0. This can add value to the device, but it also means that you won't get updated as quickly as you would on a Nexus device.

The Galaxy S3 is a new flagship device that's about to be released, and it might compete with the Galaxy Nexus for attention. However, if you're looking at buying a phone right now, I'd still take a look at the Galaxy Nexus. It's available unlocked from Google for $399, which is an incredible deal.

If you're on T-Mobile, this might not be as appealing, but it still depends on your specific situation. If you're on AT&T or Verizon, the Galaxy S3 might be worth waiting for, since it's going to have a better processor and more features. However, if you're looking at buying a high-end device right now, I'd definitely consider the Galaxy Nexus.

I recently reviewed the HTC One X, which is also an Android device with similar specs to the Galaxy Nexus. It has a slightly better camera and a larger display, but it's also more expensive. The iPhone 4S is another option that's worth considering, especially if you're on AT&T or Verizon.

In conclusion, the Galaxy Nexus is a high-end Android device that excels in some areas but falls short in others. If you're looking for a pure Android experience and don't mind dealing with Sense UI, it might be worth considering. However, if you're on a specific carrier like AT&T or Verizon, you might want to wait for the Galaxy S3 instead.

"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enwhat's up guys davey here from foambuff.com and in this video i'm talking about the samsung galaxy nexus and answering some questions you guys have had about the device um mainly it's two questions i want to talk about one you guys been asking is the galaxy nexus still considered a high-end phone and two if it is is it worth buying at this point in time and now those are two good questions to answer the first one you have to compare the galaxy nexus to some of the other high-end phones out there on the market being the galaxy s3 which is yet to drop but once it does definitely be one the best available on android the iphone 4s is obviously the best available on ios and the nokia lumia 900 is one of the best available on windows phone so how does the galaxy nexus stack up well let's look at it the screen on the galaxy nexus is 4.65 inches super amoled 1280 by 720p uh in resolution giving you a ppi which stands for pixels per inch basically the more pixels per inch the clearer the screen of 316 and the only phone out of the three uh compared to the galaxy nexus that beats it is the iphone 4s which is 326 ppi and that's mainly due to the smaller screen size uh on the iphone 4s 3.5 even though the resolution is 960x640 so overall i have to say you know the galaxy nexus is one of the better screens um you know everyone has their preferences some people like smaller screens some people like bigger screens like galaxy s3 which has the same resolution but it's bigger so the ppi is a little bit less but you know i really like the screen size in here i love the ppi um i have to say it's one of my favorite screens um i haven't tried the galaxy s3 screen just yet but out of the other two i do like the one on here more of course this is personal preference but anyway definitely competes for uh a high-end phone so the next thing i want to talk about is processor the processor is something that i've complained about in the past about the galaxy nexus it's not the aquinos uh the dual core one it's not the snapdragon s4 it's the tio mac 4460 but from my speed comparison test that i've done with phones like the uh hd1s with ones like the iphone 4s it does compete it is close it does get edged out a little bit it you know can compete more or less with the iphone 4s um the htc one s does kind of blow this guy out of the water and out of the water wouldn't say that but the galaxy s3 definitely would pull this guy out of the water um and of course the nokia lumia 900 only has a 1.4 gigahertz single core processor but windows phone is just so fast the os um that it just makes up for that so i have to say the processor is kind of like okay but i still say it's high end um the next thing is the ram obviously with the giga ram it has more than both the iphone 4s and the nokia 900 and ties the galaxy s3 so high-end in that regard the one thing for sure i could say that is the high-end on the galaxy nexus is the camera on the back it's only five megapixels and you know it got a lot of criticism when it first came out nowadays you know with new phones coming out like the 1x and the galaxy s3 is definitely going to be considered uh you know not high grade in that regard um it the camera is good i mean i use it you know a lot and it does take decent shots but it's just not as good as the nokia lumia it's not as good as the iphone 4s it's close you know i compared it on phonebook.com if you guys want to check that out but it's just not as good um i'd have the same i haven't tried the s3 obviously but once i do i'm pretty sure it's gonna you know perform better than this guy considering that the s2 did the next thing i want to talk about is like certain features like bluetooth and nfc this guy has nfc so does the s3 the iphone 4s and the nokia lumia 900 do not so that's something to consider i i'd say that makes it high-end because nfc is definitely a new technology and high-end phones typically have the newer technology uh bluetooth uh the s3 and the iphone 4s have 4.0 this guy has 3.0 the lumia 900 has 2.1 so it's got a it falls right in between uh those two uh categories so i'd say it's still high in that regard um overall i mean i'd say yeah it is a high-end phone um the camera being the one thing but remember the front-facing camera is still 1.3 megapixels capable of 720p so uh it is a high-end front camera if that means anything to you and uh the next thing i want to talk about is is the galaxy nexus worth buying i mean at 399 unlocked from google for the hspa plus version which i have right here that's definitely a steal it just came out on sprint and you know it's been on verizon obviously but is it worth buying at this point i mean should you wait for the galaxy s3 and honestly the answer really comes down to uh software i mean you know what the galaxy nexus you're going to get a pure android experience um with an htc like 1x you're going to have to deal with sense for the better or worse same thing with the galaxy s3 but you know a lot of those uis add some value that the stock ics doesn't but of course you know you're going to get updated faster on the galaxy nexus than you are on those other guys uh and with android 4.0 being able to disable apps kind of makes up for the difference but um i'll tell you i mean if you don't if you're not if you're in a contract on a gsm carrier like 18 t or t-mobile i'll take a strong look at the galaxy next because at 400 at full retail value unlocked without a contract it's definitely worth it um i would really consider if you're on 18 t or on verizon and sprint should i say um maybe i'll take a look at i will take a look at the htc one x personally um or on the sprint is called the evo and uh i i might just wait for the galaxy s3 if i were you guys but if you're looking for a phone right now um you know like this month i would still take a look at the galaxy nexus if you're an att or sprint take a look at the evo or the 1x whatever your carrier calls it but if you're on t-mobile i still think this is one of the better devices i did a review on the 1s and the one that's definitely really nice but it doesn't compete with the screen size it doesn't have nfc so some of those features are missing it does have a better processor the s4 but anyway hopefully this video gives you a better idea as far as you know if you're gonna get the galaxy nexus if you haven't got one already or if you're gonna get the galaxy s3 i mean i might not get the galaxy s3 because i'm not that impressed with it um i don't know i mean i usually end up getting new phones there i see it i see i'm not gonna get it but i end up getting it anyway i end up budging but anyways not super impressed other than the processor but the us processor is gonna be s4 so i don't know if i'm gonna get the galaxy s3 anyways hopefully this video helps you um it looks like i went for a really long video
