The Importance of Creating and Sharing iOS 5 Jailbreak Guides

As Apple Pro, I've been dealing with some personal issues lately. Unfortunately, I was involved in a car accident a few days ago, which has left my neck and throat feeling quite uncomfortable. Despite this, I still wanted to create an iOS 5 jailbreak video, and I'm glad to say that it's finally coming together.

Before we dive into the tutorial, I want to acknowledge that this video is a bit late in the making due to my recent condition. However, I assure you that it will be worth the wait. This video is designed for both Mac and Windows users, covering the iPhone 4, 3GS, and iPod Touch fourth and third generations, as well as the original iPad. Please note that this jailbreak won't work on the 4S or iPad 2... yet.

The iOS 5 Jailbreak Tutorial

To start with, you'll need to download two essential tools: Red Snow 0.9.9 beta 6 and your iOS 5 firmware. Red Snow has been updated for the 3GS, which means a plethora of bugs have been fixed. You can find links to these resources on my site, which will also take you to an in-depth guide.

Now that we've got our tools ready, let's begin with the Windows version of this tutorial. If you're using a Windows PC, right-click on Red Snow and run it as administrator. Clicking yes will lead us to the "Extras" section, where we'll select the IPsw option to find your 5.0 firmware. Once open, click next and prepare for jailbreak.

To proceed, plug in your device once again and wait for the process to complete. Next, you'll have some options, which I'll guide you through. Clicking "next" will put it into DFU mode; this is a critical step that can be tricky, but don't worry, we're almost there.

Now, hold down the power button and home button simultaneously for 10 seconds (9-8-7-6-5). Your screen should respond accordingly. If not, just keep holding until you see Red Snow recognizing your device. Once it's done, release the home button but keep the power button pressed.

Next, put your device into DFU mode again by holding down the power button for 5 seconds and then releasing it while still holding down the home button. Release the home button and let go of the power button as well. Now, wait patiently until Red Snow recognizes your device once more.

The Final Steps

Now that we've reached this point, you can let go of the home button, but keep in mind that Cydia won't be available yet. What I'm about to show you is a workaround for getting around these issues. Every time your battery dies or you need to reboot your device, you'll have to go through these steps again.

So, what do we do? We open up Red Snow once more and head to the "Extras" section to select the 5.0 IPsw option. Then, we click on "Just Boot Tethered Right Now." Next, put your device into DFU mode by following the same steps as before: hold down the power button for 5 seconds, then release it while holding down the home button.

Once again, let go of the home button but keep pressing the power button until you see Red Snow recognizing your device. Congratulations! You've successfully jailbroken your iOS 5 device using this tutorial.

will crash so what I'm about to show you guys is how to get around this basically every single time your battery dies or you need to reboot your device you will have to go through these steps in order to get it working properly again and and basically what we do is go ahead and open up red snow again go to extras again select the 5.0 ipsw okay back or actually go to extras and we're just going to click just boot tethered right now and again put your device into dfu mode next power and home for 10 9 8 7 6 5 4 3 2 1 let go of the power button and keep holding the home button now once Red Snow recognizes your device it will put it into tethered boot mode you'll see a little pineapple and once it's done I'll be right back okay so here we are once again except this time Cydia will open and you guys are now successfully jailbroken on iOS 5 now yes this is a tether jailbreak but until a non tether jailbreak is out this is a good solution of course I will make a video as soon as that's out
