**A Affordable Gaming Desk Setup**
Shelley here and welcome to this episode of Desk Envy. Today we're going to take a look at a gaming desk setup that's not only affordable, but also packed with features that will make it perfect for anyone looking to upgrade their gaming experience.
The first thing you'll notice about this setup is the Razer mouse. This mouse is designed specifically for gamers and allows for quick and easy changes to DPI settings, giving you the ability to adjust sensitivity on-the-fly right in the heat of combat. The idea behind this feature is that you can fine-tune your sensitivity during the most intense moments of gameplay, which could potentially make a big difference in your gaming performance.
The mouse also has a space for headphones to hang off the side, which is a really nice touch. Again, we're going with a Razer theme here, so it's great to see that they've included this feature. Our primary audio solution is actually the Razer Noma Chroma speakers, which fit in perfectly with our overall gaming setup.
The desk itself has a space for a cup holder, which is always a welcome addition when you're in the middle of a long gaming session. We've added a cup holder attachment to our Eureka desk, which comes as part of their affordable gaming desk package. The cool thing about this desk is that it's actually pretty affordable, starting at just $139.99. It may not have all the bells and whistles of some higher-end gaming desks, but for the right person, it could be a great option.
One of the things we're most excited about with this setup is how well it works together as a whole. The desk has multiple places to route your cables, which will help keep everything tidy and organized. We've also added a power strip to the back of the desk, which allows us to easily manage our cables and keep them out of sight.
To finish off this setup, we've added some finishing touches. We've got a vertical laptop stand from Amazon that's made of aluminum and has some padding on the inside. It's fully adjustable and will fit most laptops, making it perfect for gaming sessions where you need to switch between different devices. We've also thrown in some SteelSeries controllers, which are always handy to have around.
That's it for today's episode of Desk Envy. "WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enwelcome back to another episode of desk Envy this is a series where we take a look at some really cool desk setups and show them off to you guys and we have something really exciting and special today something focused on gaming so if that's something that's interesting to you make sure to stick around before we go any further we do have some housekeeping to do we have a couple of winners from our last giveaway from our previous episode all about the iMac so if this is you make sure to check your inbox you should have a message there from us soon about how to get your prize speaking of giveaways we do have another giveaway in this episode so make sure to stick around to the end do you see what exactly we're giving away and with all that let's go set up a desk now this is a setup that's all about the desk itself I know gamers tend to like really large desks and honestly PC gaming often demands it but it's honestly just not always reasonable it's not always practical you might be in a smaller space you might be in a dorm room or maybe you just have a section of your bedroom that's kind of marked off for your desk there's a lot of reasons why you might not have quite as much space as you want and I think the solution that we're gonna have today with this particular desk from Eureka ergonomic I think it offers some pretty interesting solutions to that problem the company specializes in sit-stand desks but they also have a ton of options for gaming and the one we're gonna look at today is the Eureka I won gaming desk now the danger with a gaming dustin's this small is that you know you can tend to just put all your peripherals on top and pretty soon you're like super cramped and have no room for anything it's a huge mess we've all been there before and here a test can be we want to avoid that at all costs as you'll see our setup uses a number of add-ons and attachments to take that stuff off of your desk itself and put it on the side hanging off which might sound a little counterintuitive but it actually works really well in keeping your desk clean first up is the monitor this is a super important part of any gaming setup I mean this is where your eyes always are focused and for our setup we're using a monitor arm from Eureka and this is gonna let the screen pull off the desk itself gonna give you some more adjustment capability but more than anything it's just gonna give you that cleaner look now the monitor that we've got here is the Acer predator xb3 it's a 27 inch 4k 144 Hertz HD our panel and it honestly just doesn't get much better than this for PC gaming now we're set up here we're probably not gonna be able to take full advantage of that 144 Hertz refresh rate in 4k and honestly neither can you with your setup it's kind of overkill but you'll be future-proof for many many years if you get this monitor and honestly you won't have to choose between the high refresh rate if you want to game in 1080p for kind of fast paced games or just enjoy 4k resolution and slower paced games you get both which is cool before we move on to anything now so that we have two dress the magic of this setup which is using an external GPU enclosure basically you've never seen one of these before it lets you plug any laptop with a Thunderbolt 3 port directly into a desktop great graphics card and in this case we are using the razor core X chroma it's a brand new GPU enclosure this year from Razer and basically it has everything you need to power those games on your laptop using the Thunderbolt 3 port and what's cool about using this monitor with it is you can actually plug the DisplayPort from the monitor directly into your desktop grade graphics card to get you that performance that you need at that high refresh rate so even though this thing is pretty expensive I really like this GPU enclosure it has a 700 watt power supply can power pretty much any graphics card do you have it also has USB ports on the back which might not seem like a big deal on the surface but basically this turns this GPU enclosure into a full-on USB hub and as you'll see in this setup we're plugging everything directly into it in this setup we've got it hanging off the side typically where you'd put your desktop tower but it fits perfectly here and it allows the plug-and-play kind of magic that happens with these enclosures to really be felt in full force now all the desk itself powering this whole setup is the Razer Blade stealth which of course is not a gaming laptop it's just a standard thin enlight laptop with a 4 core processor in it but what's cool is because of this external GPU we can place we plug any laptop with a Thunderbolt 3 port in and all of a sudden that thin enlight laptop becomes a gaming rig and I know that you could you know just as easily have a laptop and a desktop separately you know one for gaming and one for everything else but if you're like me and you like to have everything on one computer this is a really cool set up I mean just imagine if you used this razor blade stealth as your primary laptop in your life you know you can bring it to school bring it to work wherever you use your laptop or maybe just elsewhere in your house and then you sit down on your desk you plop it down one cable and you're into basically gaming mode where you can push the frame rates that you would not be able to do on a standard gaming lunch now this point you might be wondering we got a lot of razors stuff this is a sponsored video now it's not a sponsored video we just really like these razor products and more importantly we like how they work together as you'll see all the stuff can be synched up using the chroma RGB and that really makes a desk like this pop so with the desk that's small we're not gonna be putting our keyboard and mouse on top of the desk itself it gets way too cramped you've already tried it trust me it's not a good idea so in this case we have a pullout tray might feel a little old-school to you but it works really well in this setup and it has a palm rest so you can put your keyboard and mouse side-by-side and it's even adjustable so it can fit pretty much any sized of keyboard the keyboard and mouse we've chosen our brand-new from Razer this year but it's nothing too out of the ordinary if you're familiar with razors peripherals the keyboard is the Black Widow which is really similar to the Black Widow elite except it's fifty dollars cheaper I think this is a version that most gamers are gonna want to buy it still features razor's clicky switches fully customizable perky RGB lighting and razors hypership customizing which lets you reprogram just about any key to be used as a macro I really like this keyboard not only for gaming but also for typing and really the only thing you lose from the elite version is the wrist rest and some media controls at the top the mouse is the basilisk basilisk basilisk essential the mouse is the basilisk essential which is a riff on the original bass class which was made for first-person shooters not only is it a great looking and feeling Mouse it has this added button called the clutch that's in reach of your thumb and it's the reason competitive FPS shooters are gonna be interested in this mouse it lets me quickly and easily change the DPI settings and the idea here is that you can adjust sensitivity on-the-fly right in the heat of combat if I was better at first-person shooters maybe I could actually use that to fine-tune the most intense moments of combat or right when I want to take that shot with this name now you may have noticed off the left side we have a space for headphones to hang which is a really again nice thing to keep that off of your desk but our primary audio solution is going to be the Razer noma chroma speakers to you fit in with that Razer theme and to of your gaming desk set up a little bit of kick because honestly speakers built in on a monitor and never gonna be that good but we always know that I had that's gonna be important for PC gaming because you gotta have that microphone so you can talk that smack right fitting into our Razer theme we've chosen the razer kraken headset this is a brand new headset this year from razer again and the cool thing is that it does come in quartz pink which would have fit perfectly with our laptop if only we had it but you know these green ones will do and you can come and just imagine that they're pink while they say thanks for Shelley last but not least a cup holder you got to have a cup holder too last but not least is the cup holder attachment this also comes from Eureka you can add on to any desk that you buy from them and you know this is actually really helpful you can get it off of the desk you don't want that ring of liquid sitting there next to all your expensive electronics so you better off to just get it off the deck now what you put into the cup holder is completely up to you you know if you want to drink your Mountain Dew that's totally fine I'm an adult so I'm gonna drink sparkling water now the best part about this desk in this setup as a whole is that it's actually pretty affordable gaming branded peripherals and desk especially tend to get really really expensive for really no reason well this one starts at just a hundred and thirty nine dollars and because a lot of these parts are removable and you can add-on where you want this is a desk that could potentially last you a really long time and fit into a number of different spaces in your life now it's not quite as sturdy or well-built or has quite as many features as some of these high-end desk out there that cost way way more but I think for the right person especially if you're looking for something cheap this could be a really good option for you now it's time for some finishing touches a couple things I want to mention here we got a vertical laptop stand I just bought off Amazon but it's a really nice one it's actually made of aluminum it's got some padding on the inside it's fully adjustable it'll fit pretty much any laptop you've got also we have a controller stand from Eureka that we you know add it onto the desk and we threw some steel series controllers on there because you know like sometimes you want to play a game with a controller and some games made for that so it's really nice to have one of these on your desk now I'm not gonna get into all the details and the hours of labor and sweat that went into making this thing look somewhat you know presentable and not having cables everywhere but this desk actually does have a couple of cool things that will help you manage your cables a little bit better keep everything a little bit cleaner so the desk gives you a lot of different places that you can route your cables through but the one that I really appreciate it was the little carrying spot on the back that is perfect for a power strip so we routed all of our power right through there leaving us just with one extension cord coming at the back really nice to have but basically this desk it's not going to do it for you but it's going to give you the tools you need to properly manage your cables and keep everything clean and that's it that's this episode of desk Envy thanks for watching but before we go we gotta do our giveaway and we have a really good one this time we have both the Black Widow keyboard from Razer and the basilisk essential from Razer this is the keyboard and mouse we talked about these are really awesome peripherals and we're gonna give both of these away so if you want to win these head into the comments section leave us a comment saying which of these you want to can only have one and we will get to the winner in the next episode of desk Envy and let you know if you are the winner so thanks for watching make sure to hit subscribe to Digital Trends to get the next episode of desk Envy and all
