Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5 - The One To Get!

Samsung has released the Galaxy Z Flip 5 and Fold 5, two new smartphones that are expected to be popular among tech enthusiasts. The flip 5, which is a successor to the Galaxy Z Flip 4, features a new design with a larger cover display, improved cameras, and enhanced battery life.

The Galaxy Z Flip 5 has a more efficient chip set, specifically an LPDDR5X RAM as well as a base of 256 gigabytes of storage going up to 512 gigabytes. This is an upgrade from the previous model's base storage of 128 gigabytes. The phone also features UFS 4.0 storage, which is faster and more efficient than the previous version.

The flip 5 also has better battery life compared to its predecessor. The new design allows users to open the phone less often, resulting in improved battery life. However, charging remains unchanged, with up to 25 watts of fast charging supported.

One notable feature of the Galaxy Z Flip 5 is its cover display, which is more usable than before. This means that users will likely be opening the phone less often, further improving battery life. The flip 5 also features a new chip set and more efficient storage, which should give it better performance compared to previous models.

In addition to the Galaxy Z Flip 5, Samsung has released the Fold 5, another smartphone with significant upgrades. The main upgrade on the Fold 5 is the zero gap design, which makes it thinner than its predecessor when closed. It's also 10 grams lighter, making it more comfortable to hold.

The Fold 5 features a brighter main display powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 for Galaxy. This provides better gaming performance and an improved visual experience. The phone also has an updated flex mode panel with drag and drop features, which enhances multitasking capabilities.

Another notable feature of the Fold 5 is its support for the S Pen, with a new case that's 41% slimmer and more usable compared to previous models. The phone also retains the same size cover display as its predecessor, although some users may prefer a wider screen to reduce the need to open the phone.

Both phones come with software updates, including four years of OS updates and five years of security updates, which is a significant improvement over previous models. Samsung has also promised to support these devices for an extended period.

In terms of pricing, the Galaxy Z Flip 5 starts at $1,000 in the US, equivalent to the price of the 256 gigabyte version of the Fold 4 last year. In the UK, it starts at £1,050, which is also comparable to previous models. Samsung has also introduced better trade-in offers for these devices compared to last year.

For those considering purchasing either device, a comparison with the Google Pixel Fold is due soon. The exact details and differences between the two phones will be discussed in that video.

"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: en- The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5 is hereand it's got the biggestupgrade we've seen in a while.I've had some early hands on timeand here's everything you need to know.I also got to check out the Z Fold 5which has more of an incremental update,so we'll briefly touch on that too.Now the Flip 5 actuallyweighs exactly the sameas the Flip 4, and it's gota similar height and width. But it's now over two millimeters thinnerwhen it's closed compared to the Flip 4because it finally has a zero gap design. We don't have that big gapthat you would usually see. We've got Gorilla GlassVictus too on the outside, ultra thin glass on the inside.Armor aluminum, waterresistance is still here, IPX 8.No dust resistance in a device like this, but water resistance is nice to have. And it's available infour different colors, lavender, cream, graphite, and mint. However, there are someexclusive colors availableon samsung.com, a blue, a green, gray, as well as a yellow. Now if you are interestedin buying the Flip 5or even the Fold 5, then youcan use my affiliate linkdown in the description belowfor some additional creditas well as double storagefor a limited timein particular regions.Shameless plug there. Now all the different colorsdo have a black front, and that is because ofthe new cover display. This is my favorite thing, and it is much largerand much more usable. So it's a 3.4 inch SuperAMOLED 60 hertz display, and it's up from the tiny 1.9 inch displaythat we had on the Flip 4.Now, 1.9 inches to 3.4 inchesmight not sound like much, but when you have thedifferent aspect ratio,it covers almost all of the front display. Now of course, the MotorolaRazr 40 Ultra actually extendsdown to the cameras, and aesthetically that does look better.I'm not sure how much betterit'll be functionally. If you do want to see a detailedcomparison SuperSaf styleof the Z Flip 5 versus theMotorola Razr 40 Ultra, then I will be working on that soon.So do consider subscribingand hitting that bellicon so you don't miss it.Now because of this largermuch more usable cover display,it means you've got muchbetter software features. So you've got graphical clocks, customized images, videos, stylish frames, but more importantly, you'll now be able to seeyour notifications properly. You can also action themand you've got accessto your calendar, weather, messages, and you can also replyto messages now with afull QWERTY keyboard. Now I did try typing onthis and it wasn't too bad.Of course, it's not going tobe as good as the full display, but for me personally, if I'm in a hurry, maybe I'm just at the gymand I don't want to openthe Flip 5 fully, I can just quickly replyto some messages on that smaller display.I think this is somethingthat was really missingon the Flip series and I'm glad it's here. There will also be essentialwidgets such as media control, weather, calendar, timer, stopwatch, voice recorder.I think in particular with media controlswhen I am watching YouTubevideos, I'm not really watching.I'm usually listeningwhen it's off to the side, but having those essentialcontrols over therewill be really useful in my opinion. And also this will havethird party support. So initially we're going tohave Google Finance, Spotify, but there will be more coming.Quick controls such as yoursound, brightness, wifi,Bluetooth, airplane mode, all accessible from thatcover display with always on.So you can have glanceable information. And of course Samsung Wallet. So you can just use afingerprint scanner on the slideif you do want to make payments.Again, you're not going tohave to open up the Flip 5if you don't want to.But when you do want to openit, you have the main display. Now this is relatively unchanged. It's 6.7 inches Dynamic AMOLED 2X.It's got an adaptive refreshrate, so you can go all the wayup to 120 hertz making everything smooth. But it is an LTPO display, which means it can go all the waydown to just one hertzmaking it more efficient.Great display overall, nocomplaints from me really. And we have the Infinity-O design,so there is the front punch out.Now the cameras haverelatively remained unchangedin terms of the hardware. So the front facingcamera is 10 megapixelswith an F2.2 aperture. However, this you'llpossibly just be usingfor video calls and things like that. The big advantage ofthe Flip 5 is the factthat you can use the rear facing camerasas front facing cameras. And now they are much more practicalbecause of that larger cover display. So both the primary and ultrawide camera are 12 megapixels. The primary camera doeshave a new lens, but again, the hardware remains unchanged. But with that larger view finder,it just makes it a lot moreusable, especially for video. You can record 4K videofrom those cameras. You can use the ultra wideif you want to get morepeople in to your shot.If you remember, the OPPO Find N2 Flip,it would cap out at 1080pif you were using the coverdisplay to record a video. This is not the case withthe Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5.Now the other thing to keepin mind about the cameras isthat although we have the same hardware,we do have a new ISPimage signal processorwith the new chip set.So the Flip 5 is poweredby the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 for Galaxy. This is the same that we'vegot on the Galaxy S23 seriesand having used the S23 Ultrafor the past few months,I can tell you that it's super smoothand it handles everythingthat you throw at it.You've also got eightgigabytes of LPDDR5X RAMas well as a base of256 gigabytes of storagegoing up to 512 gigabytes. Now this is up from thebase of 128 gigabytesand it's also UFS 4.0 storagewhich is faster and more efficient. So with the new chip set andthe more efficient storage, this should give you better battery lifecompared to what you had on the Flip 4,although you do have the same3,700 milli amp power size battery.I think in addition to that as wellbecause the cover displayis a lot more usable, you'll probably be openingup the Flip 5 a lot lesscompared to the Flip 4.So this should also helptowards the battery life, but for charging, things remain unchanged. So we've got up to 25 wattsof fast charging supported. The charger will not beincluded out of the box. You've got 15 watts offast wireless charging 2.0as well as wireless PowerShare. So you can charge other deviceson the back of the Flip 5.Now, as well as all ofthe software updateswe have for the cover display,we do have someimprovements for flex mode.So you're going to be ableto see more informationwhen you are watching a videoor listening to some musicsuch as your thumbnail and title. And you also have quick controls,so if you're watching a video, you'll be able to easily skip through. And you also now havean adjustable toolbar. So this is going to give youaccess to some quick settingsas well as being ableto use the bottom partof the display as atouch pad with a cursor.I'm not sure how much I'll be using thison the small Flip 5,but I can definitely seemyself using it on the Fold 5.Now, software, Samsung hasbeen great with updatesand they have promisedonce again four yearsof OS updates on the Flip 5with five years of security updates, which is absolutely great. And the pricing. So as mentioned, there is nolonger a 128 gigabyte version, and the Flip 5 will bestarting for $1,000 in the US,and that is for double the storage. In the UK it'll bestarting at 1,050 pounds, but that is equivalentto what we had last yearfor the 256 gigabyteversion of the Flip 4.Now if you are thinkingof buying the Flip 5 or even the Fold 5,you can use my affiliate linkdown in the description below, and that will give yousome additional creditas well as double the storagefor a limited time in particular regions.Samsung has also gotbetter trade in offersthan what we had last year.So again, do check out that affiliate linkdown in the description below. Now I mentioned the Fold 5,so let's briefly alsotalk about the Fold 5,which does have more ofan incremental update. The main thing being is that now we havethat zero gap designfinally, which means thatit does make it quite a bitthinner, 2.4 millimeters thinnercompared to the Fold 4 when it is closed. It's also 10 grams lighter, which makes it a bit more comfortable. We've got a brighter main display. It's of course poweredby the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2for Galaxy with a 38%larger vapor chamber, which should make itmuch better for gaming. There's also an updated flex mode panelwith drag and drop featuresfor improved multitasking. And of course you havesupport for the S Pen,with a new case whichis actually 41% slimmerand actually felt a lot more usablecompared to what we've had previously. Now it's still got thesame size cover display.I generally prefer something widerso I don't have to openup the device as much.So when I'm doing something quick,I can just use the cover display. And I'm very interestedto see how it will compareto the Google Pixel Fold. And if you do want to see a detailedSuperSaf style comparisonbetween the Galaxy Fold 5and the Google Pixel Fold, then do subscribe and hit that bell iconbecause I will be workingon that very soon. What do you think of theSamsung
