Despite its stylish looks, the Mercedes C-Class Coupe has a modicum of practicality. It's 400 L boot capacity sits slap banging in the middle of its main rivals, there's not much in the way of useful underfloor storage. However, if you lift up the floor, you will find a handy collapsible boot tidy and a luggage net for keeping things secure next to the saloon.
The coupe isn't quite as roomy as its sibling, the C-Class Saloon, but it's still pretty practical in terms of the boot space. You can fit a baby stroller quite easily, and the rest of the baby paraphernalia will fit comfortably. Golfers can also rest easy knowing that their clubs will fit, and if you fold the seats down, you can squeeze a bicycle in - albeit with some compromise on removing its front wheel. The boot opening is a little small, but there's enough room for two small suitcases or two large ones, although the latter are a snug fit.
The shallow depth of the boots means that you can't get all four in at once, unlike in the C-Class Saloon where you get 40-20-40 split folding rear seats as standard. These drop down by pulling a latch that's easily located at the front of the boot. At full capacity, the C-Class Coupe can fit in a TV box, one large box, and a small one with room left over for a couple of soft bags.
Perhaps the weakest link of the C-Class Coupe is its rear seats, which are really cramped even for smaller adults. There's virtually no headroom at all and no knee room either, plus the really small rear windows make it feel quite claustrophobic inside. A lack of rear doors obviously hampers getting a child seat in, but Mercedes makes the best use of it with front seats that slide forward automatically, leaving a decent amount of room for maneuvering the child seat and the base itself.
The base itself is easy to fit because the eyes of fixed anchor points are very easy to locate via some rubber tabs which move out of the way. Mercedes has been generous with cubby spaces too, so the front doors can swallow a 2 L bottle of water there's space for a 1 L bottle under the front center armrest and the glove box can take yet another 2 L bottle of water. It seems we're just using bottles of water as examples in this review - but they do illustrate the ample storage options available in the C-Class Coupe.
Overall, the Mercedes C-Class Coupe is a mixed bag in terms of practicality. It's got decent in-car storage and the boot is a reasonable size. However, it's just terrible for carrying rear passengers if you enjoy this video, please like it, share it, and subscribe to our channel.
