Xiaomi Mi Box 3 Android TV Box Review

The Xiaomi Mi TV Box is an Android-based streaming device that offers a sleek and compact design, making it an excellent alternative to traditional set-top boxes. The box itself is an exceptionally sleek matte black finished device with an Android TV operating system, giving users access to a wide range of apps and content. One of the standout features of the Mi TV Box is its ability to support 4K video output, allowing users to stream high-quality content from services like Netflix.

Setting up the Mi TV Box is a straightforward process that can be completed in just a few steps. Simply plug in the device to your main monitor and use the Google app to set it up. The box will automatically connect to your Wi-Fi network and log into your Google account, allowing you to download and stream content from various apps. Users can also purchase movies and music from the Google Play Store or download subscription services like Netflix directly onto the device.

Despite its impressive features, the Mi TV Box does have some limitations. For example, it does not support Prime Video from Amazon due to regional restrictions. However, if the box were to become available in India, a software update could potentially enable this feature. The HDMI output is also worth mentioning, as it supports 4K and faster video and audio transfers, providing a lagless viewing experience.

The Mi TV Box is equipped with a quad-core processor and comes with a Bluetooth remote control that includes a microphone. However, in our testing, we found the microphone to be somewhat inaccurate, and using the Android TV app was more efficient for navigation. The device also features a pull-out keyboard, allowing users to type usernames and passwords without having to individually enter each letter on the remote control.

The Mi TV Box is powered by two AAA batteries, which are not included in the box. However, it does come with a power adapter that will work anywhere in the world, regardless of the voltage or frequency. The device has 2 GB of RAM and 8 GB of onboard storage, allowing users to download games and apps directly onto the device. If you have a Gamepad, you can connect it to the Mi TV Box via Bluetooth and play games on the larger screen.

The Mi TV Box also supports DTS and Dolby Surround Sound, which is excellent for high-end content. Overall, the device offers an impressive range of features and capabilities that make it an excellent choice for streaming and gaming enthusiasts looking for a compact and affordable solution.

In conclusion, the Xiaomi Mi TV Box is a powerful and feature-rich Android-based streaming device that offers a sleek design and an impressive range of apps and content. While it may have some limitations, such as regional restrictions on certain services, it remains a compelling option for those looking to upgrade their streaming experience without breaking the bank. Whether you're a casual viewer or an avid gamer, the Mi TV Box is definitely worth considering.

port an HDMI port and an audio output the MTV box does support 4K video output so if you do have a 4K television or a 4k monitor you can easily push content in 4k to the TV box from apps like Netflix that do push out 4K content Now setup for the MV box is essentially plug inpl once you do plug it into your main monitor you can easily use the Google application to set up the device and as easy as pressing a couple of buttons uh the MV box automatically connects to your Wi-Fi and then connects to your Google account to allow you to download and stream content now of course you can buy movies and music music from the Google Play Store but you can also download apps like Netflix to get subscription services from those particular applications to continue to watch your favorite content now the MV box is still missing a bunch of uh features and applications so for example Prime video from Amazon does not work on the MV box and that's probably because of regional restrictions and if the do get support for 4K and faster video and audio transfers from the MV box giving you a lagless experience the MTV box does have a quadcore processor and it does have a remote which is a Bluetooth remote which also does have a microphone that allows you to search for things using the microphone although in our case we found it to not be particularly accurate and we found using the Android TV app a lot more efficient than using the remote that is included with the Box we also found that using the app to control and navigate through the interfaces much better and then you also get a pull out keyboard that allows you to type into things like usernames and passwords without having to use the remote to individually enter each and every letter the remote control takes in two AAA batteries which are not included and you do get a power adapter that will work anywhere in the world so whether you're in 110 volts or 220 volts it'll work just fine the MTV box also does have 2 GB of RAM and 8 GB of onboard storage allowing you to download games and apps as such and if you if you do have a Gamepad you can connect it to the MV box using Bluetooth and then essentially play games on the MV box screen size once you get bored of playing them on the smaller screen now the MV box also supports DTS and Dolby Surround Sound which is excellent if you do have high-end content if you do have high quality content with DTS and digital plus it should work perfectly with the MV box without any problems now essentially because of the 4K capabilities and a whole bunch of apps and games that you can download onto this device and the ease of views with which you can set this up and get this going the MV box seems to be a much bigger upgrade than many of the cast dongles that are available including Google's own chomecast so if you're looking for a cheap Android TV box that gets you going from the get-go the xiaomi MTV box is a good-look small footprint device that basically solves that purpose you are missing a whole bunch of applications that a lot of people do use on Android TV today which may be enabled in a later update but for now you'll have to stick with the content that's
