**Dorm Room Takeover: A Transformation from Ugly to Beautiful**
I'm Mr Kate and I'm here today to take over Alicia's dorm room with a little bit of magic. This is what everybody confronts when they move into a dorm, it's really ugly, basic furniture and totally blank walls. We're going to work around these rules that we're not allowed to punch the walls, because let's be real, we've all been there.
As I look at this space, I can already see the potential for something beautiful and unique. Alicia wants a casual and laid-back vibe, nothing too fancy or glittery. She's also looking for inspiration from anthropology style, but with her own twist. We're going to start by hanging these gorgeous ombre curtains that she got at Target. They add a pop of color and texture to the room, and we'll be using them as a focal point.
To create some height in the room, we've added a desk lamp from the thrift store, which not only adds ambiance but also serves as a practical lighting source. Alicia wants something that's going to make her feel cozy and comfortable in her new space, so we're incorporating faux sheep skin over the chair to add a touch of warmth. We're also using area rugs to bring some color and life to the floor.
One of my favorite parts of this transformation is the use of DIY design elements. Alicia wants to incorporate some fun and playful touches into her room, like paper feathers cut out of colorful paper and strung onto thread to create a beautiful garland that we're hanging from an ATT tension rod. We've also added some gorgeous flower artwork to the walls, which adds a touch of elegance and sophistication to the space.
As we work on this transformation, I want Alicia to feel like she's stepping into her own little world. She wants family photos around her room to make it feel more personal and cozy. So, we're incorporating pictures of her loved ones into the design, along with some beautiful twine and dried rose buds that add a touch of whimsy to the walls.
The finishing touches are what I love about this transformation - they're the little details that make all the difference. Alicia wants to surprise her roommate with some special touches, like textbooks covered in wrapping paper and a cute little garland on the desk. It's these small details that make a room feel truly unique and special.
After just 45 minutes of work, Alicia's dorm room has been transformed into a beautiful space that reflects her personality and style. She's going to love waking up every morning in this cozy and inviting room, surrounded by all the things that make her happy. And with these DIY design elements, she'll be able to put her own personal touch on her space and make it truly feel like home.
As I look around Alicia's new room, I can see why she's so excited - it's a space that's full of life, color, and personality. It's the perfect reflection of who she is as a person, and I couldn't be happier for her. With these little tweaks and transformations, we've created a space that's truly special - a place where Alicia can relax, study, eat, hang out with friends, and feel like herself.
