iOS 11.1 Beta 4 GM Final Version is Out _ Did Apple Fix The Lock Screen Bypass

Apple has Officially Released iOS 11.1 Beta: What's New and What's Changed?

Today, Apple has officially released iOS 11.1 beta for public testing and feedback. The download size for this software is quite large, at 2 gigabytes, which may seem surprising given the minor changes that have been made to the operating system. However, as we will explore in more detail below, there are some important patches and fixes included in this update.

One of the most significant changes to iOS 11.1 beta is the inclusion of a lockscreen bypass patch. This means that users who previously exploited a vulnerability to access photos by tapping on custom messages in their lock screen will no longer be able to do so. According to the author of the video, they were able to reproduce this process and test whether Apple had patched it before releasing the update. Fortunately, they found that the bypass has indeed been fixed.

The author also notes that the update is currently available on build number 15B92, which is often a sign that it's the golden master copy (GM) version of the software. This means that developers are likely already running this update on their devices, and it will be released to the general public sometime next week.

In terms of other changes to iOS 11.1 beta, the author mentions that there have been some minor tweaks to the accessibility settings. For example, two sections under "Accessibility" were previously grouped together on separate screens; now, they are combined into a single section with all three features: Switch Control, Reachability, and AssistiveTouch.

Overall, it's worth noting that iOS 11.1 beta is still an early release, and there may be additional changes or patches included in the final version of the software. However, for now, this update provides a glimpse into what Apple has planned for future updates to its operating system.

Testing and Comparison: What's Next?

In addition to exploring the new features and fixes included in iOS 11.1 beta, the author plans to test the battery life of different devices running on different versions of the software. Specifically, they will be comparing the performance of devices running iOS 11.1 GM (the final version of the update) versus those running iOS 11.0.3 (the previous major release). This will provide valuable insight into how Apple's operating system handles power consumption and battery life.

The author also plans to continue testing and exploring other aspects of iOS 11.1 beta, including its performance and stability under various scenarios. By doing so, they aim to provide their audience with the most up-to-date information about this early release and help them prepare for future updates to Apple's operating system.

Conclusion

In conclusion, the release of iOS 11.1 beta marks an important milestone in the development process of Apple's operating system. While there may not be many significant changes included in this update, it does highlight some key patches and fixes that will ensure the security and stability of future releases. As we wait for the final version of iOS 11.1 to be released, it's essential to stay informed about the latest developments and test the software thoroughly to ensure a smooth transition to the new operating system.

"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enhey guys today Apple has officially released iOS 11 point a1 beta for now the download for this software was 2 gigabytes that's a very large file now there is a reason for that there's a few changes but that's not all apple also has a few patches that I want to share with you guys including the lockscreen bypass we're gonna go ahead and check and see if that's been fixed and if we can see here by the smaller build number 15 b92 usually when there's a shorter bill number like that it's pretty much the golden master copy the GM and developers are getting it now and the public will most likely get it sometime next week okay so iOS 11 point one is right around the corner most likely Monday Tuesday next week we'll see the official launch of this software to the general public now we can find some minor changes in this software if we go to accessibility is this one on the right is running on beta 3 this is running beta 4 on the left of course if we go to accessibility is here we see that these two sections here have been completely compacted into one single section if we scroll down you see that reach ability now has its own tab separately and we keep scrolling down you see here where it starts with switch control this section down here has also been compacted to be its own category all together so reach ability now has the little tab there you can turn on or off it's going to be this section or this action here if we turn it off and that's not gonna happen so pretty much that's the only thing I've seen around the operating system in terms of changes within the software ok so now what I want to do is go and check and see if Apple fixed the lockscreen bypass properly I came across a lockscreen bypass they gave you access to photos by tapping into custom messages and it's going to reproduce this process and see if Apple has patched it so messages custom and then we type the three emojis here and then we get access to photos and I was playing around with it as you can see here and I let's go ahead and hang up activate Siri open settings lock the device go back I make the phone call again go to messages go to custom it's Type three emojis one more time hang up Siri open settings okay do that again one more time and that's going to do it and yep Apple has definitely patched the lockscreen bypass that I came across and reported to them to fix within the software so they have fixed it before the official release of this software it's a little glitchy there on the lockscreen I do have the bug report here that I've submitted to Apple and they definitely pads that it looks like it was worked on and it was very well put together there than patching the lockscreen bypass for iOS 11.1 luckily I got that in on time so Apple now when we all update tool 11.1 we won't see that bypass affect any of our devices in the future that was the main reason why I wanted to push it out rather quickly to have them fix it but they have fixed it they might be wondering if the download was 2 gigabytes why don't we see that many changes well bug fixes as you saw other minor changes within the OS and this is the golden master copy pretty much I'm pretty sure this is the golden master copy we won't see any major changes to the software before it releases to the public unless another major flaw is discovered before it's official release so that means that Apple once you're running a beta all they do is pretty much overwrite the entire operating system with the golden master copy and reinstall the software on your device as a new software as a new build not a beta so that's the reason why you see such a large download right there so other than that I haven't notice anything else of course you know I'm going to be testing the battery performance I'm going to do 11.1 GM vs. 11 point zero point 3 which is the official release right now and let's see how those two compare in terms of battery performance and that about brings it into this video I hope you guys have a great weekend and I'll see you real soon pacehey guys today Apple has officially released iOS 11 point a1 beta for now the download for this
