The iPhone XS: A Comparison to its Predecessor, the iPhone X
Now, I believe this is because of the additional connectivity that you have with the iPhone XS. I do also notice that we don't have symmetrical grills on the iPhone XS compared to the 10. We've got three on the left hand side with six on the right hand side. Now, this does seem to be because we have this antenna band here. This is not a huge deal. And then, we have the lighting port here in the middle. Now, for these grills, one of these is a mic and the other is a speaker. And we do have wider stereo speakers compared to what we had last year, so there is also a speaker herein the earpiece. The notch here also houses all of those sensors for face ID. This is also improved compared to last year. And we've got an improved on front facing camera, seven megapixels with an F2.2 aperture, but it does have a faster sensor. And thanks to the Apple A12 Bionic chip, it is going to give you some advanced features, like a portrait mode which you can edit after the fact, so you've got depth control.
This does look really, really promising. I'm looking forward to testing it out. We've also got improvements in video. 1080p adds up to 60 frames a second, and you should also have stabilization with stereo audiorecording, this is something that we don't have on the iPhone X. Definitely let me know if you want me to do a SuperSaf style camera comparison of the iPhone XS versus the iPhone X.
Now though, cosmetically both of these look similar. Inside is where we got the real improvements. We've got the Apple A12 Bionic chip versus the Apple A11 bionic chip on the iPhone X, and this going to give you up to 15% faster performance, up to 50% faster graphics, up to 50% lower power usage. Now, the Apple A11 Bionic chip is a great chip already, so the A12 is only going to improve on this, and I'm looking forward to testing it out and seeing what its capable of.
So, let me know if you want to see a speed test between these two as well. For the cameras, they might seem the same on paper, so we've got dual 12 megapixel cameras. The secondary camera, I think, is roundabout the same. It's got an F2.4 aperture that's going to give you two times optical zoom. The primary camera on both of these is a wide angle with an F1.8 aperture. I've been hearing that it's slightly wider here on the iPhone XS. We'll check that out.
But you do have a larger sensor on the iPhone XS. This is going to give you better low light. You've also got Smart HDR, which is going to combine images together to give you better dynamic range. And as with the front facing camera, you do have the improved portrait mode which is going to give you depth control.
Once again, I'm really looking forward to testing this out. In my initial testing it does seem to be very, very promising. Now, in terms of the batteries. I'm not sure of the exact sizedifference, but I am hearing that there is an ever so slightly smaller battery in the iPhone XS. But because of the A12 Bionic chip, you should be getting up to 30 minutes more usage on the iPhone XS versus the iPhone X.
Now finally, talking about the pricing, the iPhone XS is coming in at the same price that the iPhone X came in, so that's starting a $1,000. Apple have actually discontinued the iPhone X, so if you do want pick up the iPhone X, you're not going to be able to get it directly from Apple. You may be able to get it secondhand or maybe off a reseller. And of course, it is going to be cheaper compared to the iPhone X if you do manage to pick it up.
And there we have it guys. That's the iPhone XS with a very quick comparison to the iPhone X as well. What do you guys think of the 10S? Do you think its a good upgrade compared to the iPhone X? Definitely let me know in comments below and let me know what coverage you'd like me to do with iPhone XS and XS Max.

"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: en- What's up guys?Saf here on SuperSaf TV,and here is the brand new iPhone XS.We have unboxed the XS Max,which we have here. That was done yesterday,so if you want to check outthat video, that's goingto be linked in the cards. In this video, we're goingto be checking out the XS,but we're also going to be comparing itto the iPhone X.I kind of feel like I'm aBlue Peter or something,I just keep pulling these things out.But anyway, let's get straight to it.So first, you're looking at the boxes, very similar, so we dohave the iPhone logoshere on the left and right hand side. The Apple logos on the top and bottom. However, they are in goldon the new gold version. We've got them in black on theiPhone X space gray version.Similar information onthe back, but we do havethe 512 gigabyte versionof the iPhone XS here, whereas the 64 gigabyteversion is what we haveon the iPhone X.The iPhone X only wentup to 256 gigabytes. The 512 option is brand new this year.On the front we have a pictureof the iPhone X and 10 S.However, on the 10 it'sgot a different background. We can see the notch on the 10.On the 10 S we've got this planetand then, we've got this black backgroundwhich cleverly hides that notch. Now, let's go ahead and unbox this.Alright, so we are initially presentedwith design by Apple in Califonia. And then we have, ohshiny, the iPhone XS.We're going to put that tothe side for just a second. Now, inside the boxes thingsare very similar as well,so we've got design byApple in California, this pack which has the Apple stickers,a quick start guide,SIM card ejector tool,as well as some safety information. And then we have the power bricks. These are regular power bricks. They are not the fast chargingpower bricks, unfortunately. There's a USB type A to lightning cable, then we've got some lightning ear pods, and finally, on the iPhone10 we do get a dongle,a 3.5 mm to lightning dongle. This is something that you do not geton the iPhone XS,something to bear in mind. Now, let's get to the device.Take the plastic off.Oh, yes.It just came and landed back here. That was a proper fail.Better.Now looking at the build and design, very, very similar to the iPhone X here.Of course, the biggest difference hereis that we've got this new gold color. This is something that wedid not have last year. Now, lets just quickly go aheadand set up the iPhone XS.Now, we do have Quick Start on here, which is basically goingto allow you to bring closeanother device that has IOS12 and it's automaticallygoing to set everything up for you.Very, very cool.I am going to set this upas a fresh, new device.Connect onto WIFI.May take a few minutesto activate your iPhone. So, it's just activating this right now.- A few moments later.- Welcome to iPhone.Boom, we're in.Now, just quicklybringing in the iPhone X.The display's very, very similar. We've got a small border with the notch, and we've got 5.8 inch displayswith OLED technology. So blacks are really deep, colors are very vibrant, viewing angles are also great. Now, the only difference between these twois that the iPhone XS has60% better dynamic rangecompared to the iPhone X.I'm not sure how much of a differenceyou're going to be noticing day to day,but if you're watching HDRmovies or playing gamesthat support HDR, thenthese will definitelystand out better here, on the iPhone XS.Now, just having a quick look around,we do have a stainless steel frameand we have a glass panel at the backlike we had last year, but this year, we've gotthe most durable glass on any smartphone, not just any iPhone, any smartphone. Now, I personallywouldn't take any chances,so I'd recommend picking up acase from our sponsor tech21,who have just launched their new casesfor the iPhone XS and 10 S Max.Which guarantee the most effectiveprotection drop after drop. This is thanks to theimpact absorbing materialsFlexShock and BulletShield, which protectfrom drops of up to 3.6 meters. And the fact that tech21 droptest their cases 20 timesto ensure durable, longlasting protection. If you want to pick up a case from tech21,I'm going to be leaving them linkedin the description below. They've also got a couponcode which is goingto give you 15% off. That's also going to bein the description below. Now we've also got IP68water and dust resistancethis year compared to IP67 last year. This basically means that you can submergethe iPhone XS in upto two meters of waterversus one meter on the iPhone X,and that is up to 30 minutes. On the right hand side,we have a power buttonand a SIM card tray. Now, the iPhone XS doessupport dual SIM cards,so you have one physical SIM card in here, but you can also get aneSIM card, that's goingto come with a softwareupdate soon, I believe. This is something, of course, that we did not have last year.On the left hand side,we've got the volume buttonsand we've got the mute switch. At the top, there isnothing, but we do havean antenna band on the iPhone XS,whereas, we don't have one on the 10.And on the bottom, wehave another antenna bandon the 10 S, that we don't have on the 10.Now, I believe this isbecause of the additionalconnectivity that youhave with the iPhone XS.I do also notice that wedon't have symmetrical grillson the iPhone XS compared to the 10.We've got three on the left hand sidewith six on the right hand side. Now, this does seem to
