**The Importance of Scan Tools in Car Repair**
As any car owner knows, dealing with check engine lights and mysterious codes can be a frustrating experience. However, having the right tools at your disposal can make all the difference. In this article, we'll explore the importance of scan tools, specifically those designed for German cars like BMWs and Mercedes.
One such tool is the $85 OBD2 scanner, which can perform various tasks such as checking engine lights, reading codes, and even resetting them. This affordable tool is a godsend for car enthusiasts who want to avoid shelling out big bucks at the dealership. While it may not be as comprehensive as more expensive scan tools like our 5,000 Scan Tool, it's a great starting point for DIY car repairs.
The OBD2 scanner is designed with specialty cars in mind, making it an essential tool for any car owner who wants to avoid buying a lemon. By plugging the scanner into your car's computer system, you can access valuable information about its performance, including fuel efficiency and emissions data. This information can help you identify potential problems before they become major issues.
The fact that this scanner is made in China but designed with California regulations in mind is a testament to its versatility. Like other specialized tools, it may not be perfect, but it's certainly worth the investment. For $85, you get access to a wealth of information that can help you keep your car running smoothly.
**The Importance of Headlight Adjustment**
In addition to scan tools, another essential tool for any car enthusiast is a headlight adjustment system. These systems are designed to fine-tune the aim and brightness of your headlights, ensuring optimal visibility on the road. According to one mechanic, a headlight adjustment can make all the difference in safety, particularly at night.
The OBD2 scanner also has a feature that allows you to adjust the lighting system, including the airbag system. While this may not be as exciting as other features, it's an essential tool for any car owner who wants to ensure their vehicle is functioning properly.

"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enfirst i'm going to be talking about my new electric transportation and if you notice i got new glasses too now let's start with the scooter this is a turbo and it is not a cheap scooter this is a 499 dollar scooter and it's actually quite well made now this x7 pro model has a 350 watt motor and it's front-wheel drive better handling and here's the interesting part 350 watts is a little bit less than half the horsepower it actually has a top speed of 20 miles an hour now maybe i'm getting old but on this thing 20 miles an hour feels pretty fast balancing on this it is pretty wide and one big advantage of this is it's not a cheapy it has pneumatic tires you put air in the tires you know why they invented thematic tires they invented them because they ride well the air cushion shocks if you have solid wheels they ride like crap this is actually a very comfortable ride but it stops quite well too look it's got disc brake in the back and as an emergency if you want to stop the fastest you can push this down that's a break too hits the tire so you can stop pretty fast if you're agile now going that fast 20 you need a warning system here it is now i gotta say this thing's pretty well designed here's the battery pack which just pops up so you can take it off the bike and charge it in the house if you want you can leave it in the garage pop up the battery pack and plug it in in the house it uses 120 volts to recharge it and you might say oh what a cute toy but what good is it it won't go anywhere well this thing can go 30 miles these lithium-ion battery picture a lot stronger than they used to be and as you can see there's no drive train to lose energy the back wheel just spins the front wheel drives it the motor is built into the hub there's no gears everything's direct it's the most efficient it can be check out the front tire these aren't just bald rubber ones they're going to slip in the rain these things have a nice tread design they're relatively stable cool speedometer it's got modes there's your normal mode there's your racing mode with the red d then check it out for night driving if you're crazy enough to take it out got a little led headlight on it pretty cool and perhaps best of all it's a very compact design when you flip the locking mechanism down the whole assembly then folds down locks in place it locks on the rear fender then look you got a handy little carrier you can put it wherever you want so as you can see it takes up very little space and then when you want to use it all you have to do is push down on the fender that unlocks it then you pick it back up and you got it in riding position right there when this came on a ups truck my wife said oh man what is this nonsense what do you do with that these for is going to the ocean going to the beach called plastic i don't have to worry about anything rusty now if you're having gas gold scotty doesn't like being ripped off for years i hated being ripped off by optometrists they just act like oh we're doctors we'll charge whatever you want well these guys are cool you go online you can even print out a sheet to measure the distance between your eyes so they get the perfect fit these fit perfectly and i bought them online and in my case their prescription so i just sent them the prescription and they made them and i can see perfectly fine now can't see a thing with them off but i can see quite well with them on and of course for normal people unlike me who have good eyesight they sell regular sunglasses too uv sunglasses i didn't have to wait forever let me tell you when i got my regular glasses the 800 plus ones it took almost two months for me to get them between the opticians and the optometrist it took two months it took one week and that was only because they had to make the lenses if i was just buying them off the shelf and i could see like normal people they probably would have been in my house in two days and don't you think they go well with my new electric scooter and one you consider that these gins guys their sunglasses start at 60 bucks including lenses guess what little scotty isn't gonna be visiting the optician anytime soon now if you've got a german car here's a scan tool you might like tks 69 from think scan reach codes the racist codes check engine lights evap system im readiness onboard monitor freeze frame abs system airbag system audio system oil service reset transmission headlight activation now you do have to buy it for your own model car but for 85 bucks man that does a lot of stuff it's a specialty tool for specialty cars you know you go to the dealer if they have to reset something it's going to cost you a fortune you can do a lot of that stuff you do the headlight adjustments for something that is only 80 something bucks and sure it doesn't do everything that my 5 000 scan tool does but you want a german car and you want to fiddle around with a little hey for 85 bucks let's say you're crazy enough to buy a used bmw mercedes bring that with you plug it in it's going to save you from buying a lemon it's got all kinds of information that it can pick up on and you could say okay i'm not going to buy that car it's too much for the 80 something dollars it's certainly worth it and as you can see here yeah it's made in china but it's designed to california it's kind of like the blue driver which is designed in canada even though it's made in china they come up with some pretty good ideas they can make them cheaper in china who cares where the thing is made and since this is mechanic monday i'm going to be giving away one of these gin sunglasses it's not going to be my pair because if it was they'd be of no use to you other than to block in the sun winner will be chosen randomly by computer to get a cool set of new sunglasses all the way from california and here's some bonus questions and answers jackwords244 says i got 2008 dodge dakota is it safe to drive a vehicle that has a po430 check engine code as long as your check engine light isn't flashing on final fantasy driving yeah generally that just means the catalytic converter is somewhat weak i had a customer as a funny story he had that code and he had it for five years he'd have it reset before the inspection and he could get the car passed because it wasn't too bad it took a while for it to come back months but it would eventually come back well he drove the car five years away with the coat on it then after five years he brought it to me to check it out before he got the emissions test done i plugged it in the code was gone i said oh did you put a cadillac inverter in your car i said no i switched the gas i was buying from a different company and i guess just the difference in how that gasoline burnt versus the other one he was using it burned better and then the catalytic converter wasn't inefficient anymore the code went off so generally it's not really going to hurt anything if it's not flashing it runs perfectly fine that guy drove it five years and then it went out by itself when he switched gas brands well if you like that movie ford versus
