The Unboxing of the Moto Z: A Modular Masterpiece

What's up, guys? David here and I am super excited for today's video because today we're unboxing the Moto Z. Now I don't normally get excited about phone unboxings, in fact, we rarely do them here on the channel. But the reason why we're doing this unboxing today is because we're not just unboxing the Moto Z. We're unboxing the accessories that you can get with it.

Here, you have the Incipio Power Pack which you can just attach to your phone with its modular design. And then, my personal favorite, the thing I've been waiting for since the day Motorola announced this phone is the Sound Boost by JBL that supposedly you snap on to your phone and you get a little portable speaker with you, anywhere you go. Super excited like I said.

Let's go ahead and start unboxing which one first? Which one first? We'll do the phone. Thank you Motorola for sending us a phone. And... Phone itself. Wow, so my first impression is damn this thing is thin. (mumbles) makes things super thin so that way when you have your attachments on here, it's not gonna feel like it's too thick. Which, I'm actually curious about that.

So, let's go ahead and clasp that one on. For now, looks nice and clean. And see what else is inside the box. (man) Is that a wood design on that? That is a wood design. I mean, that looks clean. (man) That does. I like the look of that. So I mean, this is how thick the phone's gonna be normally so you're gonna be rocking it, I imagine, without any attachment. But this is clean. This is clean.

And yeah, the camera doesn't bulge out. When you take this thing off, you're gonna have a crazy camera hump. Look at that. Yeah, you're not gonna want that. Got your power brick. Oh so it's a USB type C, it's not detachable, which that kind of sucks.

Let's open this guy up. (bag crinkling) Yeah, so, this is not detachable is it? (man) So, if it breaks... Yeah, if it breaks one thing but I don't think you can connect it to your computer. There's no headphone jack on this phone. They beat Apple to it.

You know, I remember when I was seeing my cousins, they had their like original screen or packaging material on their screen, instead of getting a screen protector. That's so ghetto guys, don't do that. Just get a screen protector.

First thing - the Incipio Offgrid Power Pack. Oh, I kind of ripped the box. (shuffling) There you go. So this is gonna add some thickness to the phone. Nothing else here. Alright, moment of truth. I wanna see how this thing actually works. I've only seen it in the videos so far, so I am very very curious as to - How am I gonna get this off? Let's see how easy this is to attach.

You've got your connectors right over here. In theory, they just attach, and it works. Should I turn the phone on first, probably? I don't know, we'll do it before and after. Alright, there you go. It adds definite weight to the phone. This feels pretty heavy. Oh, it turned the phone on. Yeah, so it has a nice little texture to the back. Kind of a little bit grippy.
