Microsoft Surface PCS Stripped of Recommended Cites by Consumer Reports Due to Reliability Concerns
In a shocking turn of events, trusted testing outfit Consumer Reports has stripped Microsoft's Surface PCS of their recommended citations due to mounting concerns over reliability. According to a survey of 990,000 service owners, the Surface PCS has been plagued by a string of problems, including sudden freezing, shutting down, and issues with the touch screen. In fact, the device ranked near the bottom of a reliability chart, below even Apple's products.
Microsoft is not taking the news lying down, however. The company claims that the Consumer Reports findings do not accurately reflect owner true experiences and ignores improvements they've made to the line of computers. Microsoft has been working hard to create a cohesive line of Surface computers, including tablets, laptops, and an elegant desktop. This new move by Consumer Reports is definitely bad news for their efforts.
Meanwhile, in other tech news, Facebook has launched a new streaming platform called Watch. The platform will be influenced by what users do on Facebook, rather than group options or genres like sci-fi drama comedy. Watch will also make suggestions based on what shows are most talked about and what's making people laugh. Additionally, viewers will be able to see likes, reactions, and comments in real-time, as well as join a Facebook group about the show.
But for PC builders who have been eagerly awaiting AMD's new Thread Ripper CPUs, the day has finally arrived. The line of CPUs, dubbed "Kick-Ass" by fans, is set to bring serious performance to the table. With up to 16 cores and 32 threads, along with support for every tweak PC Builders can throw at them, these CPUs are a serious competitor to Intel's new Core i9 series. The top-of-the-line Thread Ripper 1950x comes in at $1,000, but for those who need dragster-level computing horsepower, it's really a small price to pay.
In related news, Disney is reportedly parting ways with Netflix in order to launch their own streaming service or services. Meanwhile, Facebook is getting into the streaming game with Watch. The platform will be influenced by what users do on Facebook, rather than group options or genres like sci-fi drama comedy. Watch will also make suggestions based on what shows are most talked about and what's making people laugh.
