desktop components in it it's not the most portable of laptops If we're honest and while the HC V and all of its components will fit neatly into a backpack the 17x really doesn't with this huge size and weight of about 10 lb which doesn't include the charger that it comes with by the way I wouldn't quite call it portable it also has an estimated battery life of about 3 hours which means you can't really be too far from a plug for too long but considering that for something with the same kind of specs you're looking at something like this it is able to move from Land party to land party or from your house to a friends a whole lot easier when you do manage to get over to a land party or a friend's house though you will most likely turn some heads the laptop is covered in this matte finish that I personally like and it's some serious red accents along with a light up predator logo on the hood it also has a fully customizable RGB backlit keyboard that has specific zones you can customize as well as an outline for the all important WD buttons that can be controlled from the included Predator sense program it sort of looks like it could get up at any moment transform into a Decepticon and pick a fight with the other appliances in your house the keyboard and trackpad are proper the keys have decent travel and feel solid while the trackpad is actually really precise compared to other Windows laptops that I've used most Gamers will most likely use their own separate Mouse though and Acer actually accounted for this with a quick toggle to disable the track pad and avoid any accidental grazings there are also programmable keys that can be set up for three profile groups each with their own colors for a total of 15 hot Keys something that Gamers will undoubtedly appreciate now what is all that power if you're stuck having to wait for things to buffer half the time well the Predator 17x has an 80211 AC Wi-Fi adapter and as well as an ethernet port which is nice to see and even has a program that will automatically prioritize your gaming traffic over your other web data to ensure that your game runs better than say your email program in addition to that ethernet
