I'm Caleb Denison. The flights are booked, hotel is booked. By the time you see this video, I'll be on my way to the airport to fly to Cupertino. The following day, Monday, is the Apple \"It's Glow Time\" event, and I will be there. I'm kind of nervous. No, nervous isn't the right word — I'm anxious is what it is. Let's just — let's go, let's do this. Now, if you follow me on this channel, you know TVs are my bread and butter, but I've also been reviewing headphones for the past 15 years, and that includes past versions of the Apple AirPods, Apple AirPods Pro, and Apple AirPods Max. And while I would love to think that there might be something to the idea that I was invited down because there's something Apple TV related, or maybe even a new display technology, I just don't think that's the case. I think I'm down there for audio stuff, which is just fine by me.Of course, the headliners for this event are going to be the new iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro, and iPhone 16 Pro Max. I'm sure we'll be hearing all about the new A18 chip in these phones, a new capture button, new screen sizes, and some new camera tricks. I also think we'll be seeing some incremental stuff around a new Apple Watch, but as cool as all that stuff is, that will not be my focus. Though I'll for sure take some video of them all up close so you'll get to see that here, and of course, we'll have tons of coverage of everything Apple unveils at DigitalTrends.com.But right here on this channel, Monday afternoon and possibly Tuesday morning, I'm going to be showing and telling everything you could need to know about new AirPods products. Here's what I'm expecting to see around Apple's audio stuff. There are two products I expect to see, and one that I just really hope to see. That would be the new entry-level AirPods, a new mid-tier AirPods, and I'm really hoping to see a new set of AirPods Max.The highlights for the new AirPods buds, I think, will be a complete transition to USB-C charging cases. I think we'll see the AirPods Pro shape, but without the ear tips on them. And I think what will distinguish this new mid-tier model will be active noise canceling — probably not on the same level as the current AirPods Pro, but any kind of noise canceling at a lower price level is likely to be very well received. And possibly a speaker built into the case for Apple \"Find My\" functionality. Now, I'll get a briefing from Apple on all of the details, and it's those crucial details, along with lots of pretty video, that I'll be focused on at the event. As for a refresh to the AirPods Max, well, it's been like four years since they came out. I think this is a really big opportunity for Apple to do something amazing with AirPods Max. A lot of pundits are speculating that they will go to USB-C — they need to, to comply with European standards — and that there will be new colors. But honestly, I'm hoping, and really I'm expecting, more than that. Whenever we do get AirPods Max, I think Apple took enough heat over the Not Case Case — aka \"The Bra\" — that it's possible we'll see a more protective case for the AirPods Max. Of course, Apple might also just dig its heels in there, so it's just as possible the case won't change.I am definitely hoping for an actual off switch. It doesn't need to be a new button or anything; I just really want to be able to shut them off completely and not just have them in standby mode. I'm also hoping, and really this is what Apple does best, that they may be slightly less bulky and slightly lighter. I think Apple is down to slim them down a bit, so long as they perform as well as the first-gen AirPods Max. And Apple's pretty great at making generational improvements where things get smaller and lighter without sacrificing performance. And that's really as far as I'm willing to take the speculation on the AirPods products. As a matter of fact, the latest speculation is that we may not see AirPods Max. Most of this stuff comes from Mark Gurman over at Bloomberg, and he has a pretty good track record. But just this morning, all of a sudden, he kind of changed directions on the AirPods Max, citing the fact that Apple has so many current-gen AirPods Max in stock that that might mean we don't see a new AirPods Max until later. I'm not sure I buy that rationale, and it's not just because I really want to see a new AirPods Max — it's because we've seen Apple in the past selling prior-generation stuff along with the new generation stuff. So, I'm still going to hold out hope. Now, I've got to come clean on something. I know that the whole \"It's Glow Time\" theme is expected to be about the new glowing animation on the edge of iPhone screens when Siri is active, and I get it, that makes sense. But I so want the whole \"Glow Time\" thing to mean more, like a new display technology — something I could really sink my teeth into as a display expert. Now, based on who it is at Apple that I've been in contact with, I really do think I'm there because of the audio stuff. But part of me just kind of hopes for some kind of amazing display news. That's all I'm going to say because I don't want to jinx it, but wouldn't that be cool? I think so.So yeah, that's what I expect in terms of the products. Outside of the products, I think I need to expect to try to not be overwhelmed by it all. These events are designed to get folks excited, and I just know there's going to be something kind of enchanting about Apple Park. I mean, it's my first time there — an enchantment that I imagine is more powerful to first-time visitors than veterans. So, I have to be careful not to drink too much of the Apple juice. But guys, I'm a pretty ardent fan of some of Apple's products, so I have to cop to being a little bit excited here.Anyway, I'll try to record as much as I can, and I'll be posting to my personal Instagram in coordination with Digital Trends' Insta, so keep an eye out there for some quick social video hits and behind-the-scenes looks. But if nothing else, definitely tune in tomorrow. Click that notification bell if you haven't already. I'm looking forward to bringing my insight into audio products to the analysis of this new stuff that Apple is announcing, and who knows — we could be in for some surprises. I'll see you there! Thanks for coming along for the ride, and hey, wish me luck, will you? Thanks so much for watching, everyone! Like, subscribe, ring that bell. I'll see you soon, and until then, here are two other videos I think you might like.\n"
