that flashlight going until you get power back to your house but it doesn't have to always be that way all right so now that we got the power back on let me do my absolute favorite thing in all these videos and thank you guys for supporting the Channel all these years and give you a chance to win 500 bucks leave me a comment down below tell me the first thing that you would want to be backed up your anchor solic power system tell me your best pun tell me a fact about yourself whatever comment you leave though make sure either you put your social handle in it or by click your link to go to your YouTube page there's a way to contact you there give the video a thumbs up let this competition run for 10 days open to anyone in the world all information you need that will be down in the description down below when you think of anchor you probably like think of this or this I bought three of these uh over the past few years they know battery packs they know battery packs really well so it made sense to transition to just larger battery packs that can power different things so meet anchor solic the anchor solic X1 in particular Anchor's been delivering portable battery solutions for a while now with the ankor solx X1 the idea of battery packs has taken to the highest level with a mounted battery pack that is made to run and power your entire home all right so this is idea is not new in fact I've got similar batteries I've installed in my house for years now so I know that this can be helpful I don't know where you guys live I'm in California our Grid's not the best we have rolling blackouts all the time having battery backups has saved me and it's saved my family but most importantly it's also saved me a ton of peace of mind and if you pair the anchor solx X1 with solar and if you have an EV um you can kind of take most of your power that use for your home in your car all from the Sun and the power that you're not using you can just store in the battery packs but despite us kind of seeing these things before ankor solic X1 has brought a few innovations that I think make these the pack worth considering so when you first see it there's a clear difference between the X1 and other batteries on the market and that is absolutely design and size so this is a 5 Kow battery pack that is only 5.9 in thick that is 50% thinner than a traditional home energy storage system we have three of them here so you might not think that thinness matters that much because this is going to be mounted in your home or outside of your home the bigger it is more space it takes up with the X1 I can easily install this in the garage for example and it does not take up much space and I think probably the coolest thing here is that it is modular which means a few things so first you can add and subtract battery capacity as needed and you can start small you just want to have one 5 KW battery pack to start you can do that and to add more packs down the road is very easy each battery mod like I said is 5 Kow so start with one or if you want to scale all the way up you can do it to 180 Kow of battery capacity and also it can power from 3 to 36 KW and that is a ton and cons serve pretty much everyone's needs so these batteries connect to a power module that can each support three battery modules and you also have a backup controller so I can talk about power going out to your house and how this works but what if I actually cut out power to the house so right now we just had a power rge you can see nothing really happened so what I did was I just killed grid power to the house and you can see the system kicked back on extremely fast and if you were in the house and weren't paying attention you'd really never know that anything happened and that is the best compliment I can give this system it does the work for you so you don't have to think about it so with these you get Smart Control the batteries also so that means let's say I can start with 5 KW but in the future I can add more modules and I'm not going to have like any energy loss by using old and new batteries together it makes it crazy flexible another awesome advantage of modular system battery module fails the rest of the system will still work I don't have to replace my entire network of batteries I can just address a singular battery and it won't hinder how everything else works and that is tremendous and huge and also again because it's modular when systems installed if you want to have more battery packs added it's generally just a twers install so you're not paying huge install cost to get these things added so there's cost savings there as well as opposed to other systems these batteries though are built to last and again they're built by a company who knows batteries a lot of people like to install these indoors but they can absolutely be installed Outdoors it's got ip65 design and can operate and deliver full power from -4° to 131° F and if you drive an EV you tried to charge an EV you know that the batteries don't do well in cold inchor thought about actually can keep the batteries at a consistent temperature make sure they can operate at full capacity so wherever you want to install these you're not going to have really any loss of function uh plus anchor solic has a pretty Innovative energy Optimizer in each battery module so each pack can independently charge and discharge to eliminate capacity loss so they should provide 2350 KW hours more energy over time but I like for some reason issue does occur there's a 10-year warranty with the system so your investment will obviously last I think there's a big misconception for a lot lot of people that having a setup like this is only for when the power goes out and while it is absolutely super helpful in a really use case it's just like the very beginning of what the setup can do so for the backup situation solix has built in a few key features that Mak the X1 as efficient as possible so there's a Mode called storm guard that can autod detect outages detect local weather and it'll charge up your battery so things are ready to go in case the power goes out if you do lose power the exponent will switch over in less than 20 Mills seconds she won't even notice that you lost power and while the power is out X1 can deliver 1.1x the rated power to high wattage appliances so you can keep the most important things running in your house we're talking refrigerators we're talking air conditioners whatever else you need to run in the event of a long-term power rout you continue to power your home with solar that gets routed to the battery for storage I think solar is a real big part of this equation but solar power is only useful when the sun is out I think the next part of that is being able to store that excess solar energy and that's where the X1 really starts to shine uh another awesome way to use this whole setup uh is to make some money so there are two ways you can fill a battery you can either use the grid which is what is going to your house or you can use solar and there's not a right or wrong way to fill up the batteries um but what you can do is make it more efficient so there are three modes that are built into the X1 there's a time of use mode it's going to recharge the batteries when electricity prices are at their lowest that you can use the energy stored in the battery electricity prices are at their highest so this means you can leverage extra capacity you have to save money over the long term this is how I have my home setup there's also a self-powered mode that maximizes green energy use there's also an NM 3.0 mode let you sell electricity back to the grid and actually make money uh if you live in California and you can monitor all this in just the settings in the app to make sure you're using the batteries for everything possible after all these going to be installed in your house you want to make sure you're putting them to use but also what if you're in a power outage and your internet goes down and you can't use your app it's not going to show you what's going on uh fortunately Anker also thought of that and there is a screen that is built in to the solx X1 so as you walk by screen lights up you can see how much battery is left how much power is being used all the information you need so again no internet if you can't use the app you'll be able to see what's going on with your system and this might seem like something that is farfetched you might need down the road but for me it's given me a lot of peace of mind and it makes a lot of sense if you have an EV if you use lot electricity in your house you're running air conditioning all the time you live in a hot climate setups like this can realistically save you money and pay for themselves over a long period of time and if you're looking to install something like this you want to do it with a company that you trust Anor has a reputation they know batteries they know how to make the setup work and they've built a system that is modular offers you flexibility offers you reliability and they back it up with an absolute killer
