**A Smooth Ride: Unveiling My Latest Car Acquisition**
As I sit here with my latest car acquisition, I have to say that I'm feeling pretty pleased with myself. You may recall my first video, where I unveiled this car and took it for a little drive around, highlighting the noticeable vibration that was present at the time. Well, let me tell you, that's 100% gone now. The smoothness is almost like driving a Mercedes – it's a whole new experience.
I've had this car for about four or five days now, and I have to say that it feels like a totally new car. The broken-ness has been fixed, and it's now feeling very solid under my hands. When you see my video of me going underneath the car with a lift, and the car on it, you can get an idea of just how much work went into getting this car to where it is today.
**DIY vs. Dealer: What You Need to Know**
One of the things I want to emphasize is that you don't need to take your car to the dealer for every little thing. Not only can you do many tasks yourself, but you can also diagnose and fix problems on your own with the right tools and knowledge. The electronic components in this car are all available online, either through aftermarket or OEM solutions, which means you have a wide range of options at your disposal.
When it comes to the mounts, for example, I didn't get them from the dealer or Mercedes directly. Instead, I opted for aftermarket parts that fit my needs and budget. The Cordo mounts I used are a great alternative to the LM mounts, which were more expensive but exactly the same part. The estimates I received suggested that the total cost would be around $1,000, including parts and labor – but by doing it myself, I was able to save some money.
**A Lesson in Patience**
I know what you're thinking: "Why take the time to fix everything yourself?" Well, let me tell you, it's not just about saving money. It's also about taking control of your own car and knowing that every decision you make is going to be exactly right for your vehicle. Of course, there are times when you'll need professional help, but for many things, DIY can be the way to go.

"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enhow's it going guys my name is tar and today I'm going to save a hell of a lot of money by working on my Mercedes-Benz SL55 AMG myself now for those of you new to my channel I'd like to say thank you for uh tuning in and welcome I hope you guys like it this is my 2003 SL55 AMG and I bought it for $8,900 and it did come with some slight issues um I addressed these issues or at least I outlined them in my last video the video entitled everything wrong with my $8,900 SL55 AMG um most people when they see a car like this uh a car that was $130,000 when new they would take it to the dealer uh get a prepurchase inspection or get a uh independent mechanic that uh deals specifically with this making model uh to tighten up the odds and ends and make sure that it's fighting fit I am not like most people I will do the work myself now the reason why it's in the garage is because it is uh it's not it's not a really gloomy day I don't even know if you can if you can see that let me adjust the exposure there we go yeah it's uh it's cloudy and it's raining a little bit so I am going to do my work in my parents onecar garage and I'm just going to move the car back and work on the car from there now the first thing I'm going to attempt today would cost at a dealer about $750 to $1,000 and that's including parts and labor um I bought the parts that I need to do this repair for about $100 actually maybe even less than $100 it might have been 90 bucks so in essence I might be saving myself $900 actually before I go into too much detail I'm going to show you what the problem is uh and in order to do that I have to move the car slightly back so here is the car well here is the car power plant this is the 5.4 L supercharged 493 horsepower AMG handbuilt Beast um it has seen better days it is uh very dirty but that's not what's important um when I drive this car uh you can see it on the first drive on my first drive in one of my videos that there is a fair bit of vibration coming from this and a common problem with these cars is that they have issues with their engine mounts now there are two engine mounts one on either side and also one transmission mount that's uh further down uh underneath the car and these are fluid filled mounts meaning that they have a certain hydraulic fluid and they control the vibrations coming from the engine uh and they make it basically smooth as a Mercedes as a Mercedes should be these mounts are busted and it basically makes it as smooth as uh I don't know falling down a flight of stairs while riding a piano like that's that's really how bad it is um so we are going to fix this and it is no small feet it is sort of in the bowels of the engine uh like sort of down there I'm not quite sure how to do it I've looked it up online and it doesn't seem that hard it just seems timec consuming but since we have a whole weekend to do whatever we need to do on this car and try to save some money I think that's what we're going to do but to show you what the problem is uh I am going to start the car put the car in drive and you can see how much the engine uh kind of can't dels over and that's not what it's supposed to do theoretically you're supposed to be able to move the engine with your hand like sort of like yeah I can't I can't do that all I'm doing is uh give myself stress yeah you can't move the engine with your hand um it's supposed to be sort of smooth uh do this sort of thing it it's not supposed to be stiff that's what a lot of people think it's supposed to be like really stiff to the chassis that's how you get a lot of vibrations and that's what we have today so uh yeah take a look at this okay uh that is a bit of a result I think that that mount is U is worse for wear than that mount is that Mount sort of held the engine in place but that one definitely you saw a lot of movement um I'm still going to replace both of them because it is very common that these things go out especially with the torque that this puts out it's uh sort of insane amount of torque but um what we're going to do now is I have to get the car in the air and in order to get the car in the air um I'm not going to use a jack I'm just going to use some ramps uh just so I don't have to worry about getting the wheels off and just put a tarp down because I don't want to uh get that dirty especially if it starts raining and I also want to be able to move the car if anything I want to be able to move the car inside uh quickly if it does start to downpour which sort of kind of looks like it uh it will sort of kind of what am I what am I talking about but yeah that's enough rambling let me get this car in the air and then I'll show you what we're putting in this bad boy all right the car is up on these not sketchy at all plastic ramps that I got from Harbor Freight uh but they are holding so I guess that's uh that's good enough um car is not going anywhere um as I said before the engine mounts are on either side of the engine now Mercedes if you get them from Mercedes they want somewhere around $200 per Mount and just as with Aston Martin you can save a lot of money by not going through Mercedes now this these are cordico mounts and cordico actually is the uh OE manufacturer so this is the manufacturer that supplies Mercedes this won't have a Mercedes stamping on it but it is 100% OEM quality um they also had uh you can see um it's uh branded cording or LM for and these are basically rebrands of the same same company same design same quality this is the transmission mount this is the uh the one that's really easy to change it's just in the uh uh underneath the engine in the middle of the car this uh should take maybe 10 or 20 minutes these boys or I don't know I don't know what the the gender of these mounts are do do Mount some genders um so these are the hard ones to change and if you take a look at them they are different part numbers for the non-amg and AMG variants I'm not sure what the difference is maybe they're a little bit more stiff in the AMG variants but these are uh these are it so it's just two bolts uh one on the bottom and one on the top and to get to the one on the top since it's so uh since there's exhaust manifolds and lines and stuff running everywhere um it's a little bit hard to get to it's a 16 mm bolt so what I got is I went on eBay and I got this and this is a uh Ben's engine mount wrench and what it does is it allows you to put a 16 mm well this is a 16 mm and allows you to get some extra purchase you just put a ratchet on uh on this side and yeah it makes light work of this hopefully I've never done this before so uh don't hold me to whatever I say before I do the mod um right now I am going to uh just start taking off the top engine components there's actually no tools necessary just uh take off these engine covers and then we'll get a better look at uh what the mounts look like and also I'm going to take off the negative battery terminal because in order to get to those mounts we can we can get to those mounts uh without taking anything off but uh to get those out since it's such a tight space I will have to be moving the AC compressor and also the alternator so that's not too bad of a job um hopefully again I'm uh these might be famous last words so let's get started on that okay now that I've got everything everything off the top of the engine I did a little bit of work uh I undid the bottom uh two bolts there are uh 13 mm bolts on the um engine mounts and I lifted the engine with a jack I didn't have anything to uh put between the Jack and the engine you definitely don't want to put metal on metal so what I did is I got a bunch of these towels and I just made them really thick so I got maybe 10 of these towels folded them over each other and that should make a nice buffer so it's not metal on metal because this is aluminum and you don't want an aluminum oil pan to crack but um I lifted the engine about 1 and 1/2 in maybe maybe a little more and not sure if you can see it but right down there see that uh that brown thing that's the exhaust manifold it's underneath there and I sort of have to feel for the 16 mm bolt that's there it shouldn't be on there too tight uh I think the uh torque spec is like 55 ftlb so I should be able to get it off with my hand with a little bit of effort but um this is the pain in the butt because I don't know if I have enough space to get the AC compressor out this is the power steering and hydraulic pump in the AC compressor is underneath and it's held on to uh held on by three bolts and uh from what it looks like it looks like a uh a real real hell of a time um I would put the camera down there but it's very dark uh I'll try if if there's anything down there that's relevant I'll I'll let you guys know but um for now I think I'll just be working up top the other side actually it is pretty simple I mean there's not a lot of stuff in the way it's just that alternator and uh where's the alter yeah there you go alternator is right there uh alternator comes out and then I can get that 60mm bolt in there there's no steering rack in the way there's no uh AC or hydraulic lines and that one should be the easy one so um I don't want to start on the easy one I want to start on the hard one if we can get that one out it's not going to be a problem getting that one out so fingers crossed oh I'm actually wearing gloves this time okay so I did some work underneath the car and you see the engine is jacked up a lot uh so I lucked out a little bit I hope uh but I didn't have to take off any of the belts and I didn't have to take off the alternator and I didn't have to take off the AC compressor well I don't know if I'm going to have to take off the alternator yet I just uh got that side out and look at it there's any doubt that this thing was leaking I mean if I put it upside down probably see this nastiness yeah so this is fluid filled and this ruptured and yeah that's not the way it's supposed to be U look Left Behind it's crapping all over the place so that is what a bad mount looks like and this is what a good mount looks like now there are slight differences in uh height and well there should be because this is devoid of fluid and this uh is actually a uh a little um looks like a heat shield or something I'm going to see if I can take this off if not then I'll just put it in like that no big deal um but uh this is also really dirty so I might need to just clean this up all right now you can see the extent of the damage here is the Mount and you can see where it cracked right at the top wow this is uh not not optimal um yeah there's a there's a pretty big difference between the old Mount and the new Mount uh I will put this thing back on there after I clean it off um hopefully this is not going to be that hard to put in because it was extremely tight uh to get in there but um if I can finagle it in there that will be a major win and it's going to it's going to basically half the amount of time that this thing takes um apparently online people are telling uh well people are giving me the the advice that I should take off the alternator and the AC compressor and just move them forward I haven't actually had to do that um I just jacked up the engine a lot and wrestled this thing out of its out of its mounting location it is fiddly but it will work and I didn't harm anything no lines are being pinched uh nothing's leaking so that is uh that is really really good news so maybe I'll I'll Lube this up just a little bit so it slides past some of the uh some of the tighter ends and I know that sounded very suggestive but you know that's that's how it is working on cars so let's uh let's try to get this thing on there all right I'm underneath the car I am going to attempt to show you what I did now you can see that there is the uh Mount right there that's at the end of my finger what I'm pointing to um so there's a 16 mm nut uh or bolt rather on top of that and you can't actually take out the bolt because it's going to hit the exhaust manifold um what I've done is uh you can leave the bolt in there and you see that there's the uh there's that 16 mm wrench uh that I got specifically from Mercedes you can actually put uh this guy which is uh this uh extension on there with a ratchet and you can torque it down to spec what I did was I when I took out the mount uh the old Mount I just this uh this power steering line uh or rather hydraulic line I'm not sure if it's power steering I think it's power steering it might go to the suspension but uh let's just call it a power steering line um I slightly bent that back maybe about an inch it's it's fine it doesn't Kink anything uh it's not going to create any any issues for me but uh I bent that back and that gave me enough room with uh this engine cranked all the way up that I can snake this whole thing out uh so that was that was a God's end because if not I would have had to take out this AC compressor right there right at the top of the screen and that would have been not a lot of fun so that turned a potentially 4-Hour job into a 2-hour job but let's see if the other side is is uh is a little easier I'm going to Snug this side up first the other side should be a little easier but let's hope I didn't shoot myself in the foot with what I just said since I can't see anything underneath the car and it would be quite foolish of me to uh put the camera down there where I'm bumping into everything here is the second Mount and it doesn't look any better than the first you can see that it's cracked right there all the fluid has leaked out and looks like there is a uh sort of dead spider or something something right there yeah kind of kind of gnarly so I put the new mount in here and um before I lower the engine or actually I'm going to lower the engine and uh button this up but I'm also going to change the transmission mount and I think I might have some space down there so uh so I can show you guys what I'm doing but this is going this is going quite good everything's coming up mil house okay it is way tighter uh down here but um I have resorted to uh portrait mode because my camera won't fit uh in the regular orientation but here is the um the cross member for the transmission and the transmount is right here so it's held up by these two uh two bolts here and there's also one two bolts right here to take off this transmission mount uh or rather the cross member I have to put a jack on here undo six bolts three on this side three on this side uh undo these two uh these two bolts and undo these two bolts and the whole thing should come right out this shouldn't take too long at all and it's uh it's very very straightforward nothing else has to come out so uh that should be uh that should be a pretty easy thing and I want to get this car on the ground uh because I really really want to take it for a test drive um and I want to give you guys the impressions of what new mounts do for an old Mercedes all right uh so that actually was uh pretty easy I mean my arm is tired just because of the inverted position but uh I do need some exercise this is the old transmission mount and uh as you can see it's only two bolts over here and two bolts on the bottom uh this has seen better days this is totally trashed uh now I think that this is look if I just push a little push just a little bit the whole thing comes apart so this was wow so no wonder I had so much vibration uh all three mounts were shot and uh this is no bueno but uh this is an easy uh part to fix and this can alleviate a lot of um vibrational issues as well as the two mounts up there but uh right now I'm going to take the car I'm not even going to button up the uh the bottom as far as the uh those things the splash guards cuz I'm going to they are a little bit oily and they are a little bit dirty so I want to uh wash them off but before I do that I want to take this thing for a ride all right now that the intake filters are on and uh looking a little bit more snazzy I I did clean them up a little bit uh I will be doing a full engine detail so this isn't the final iteration this still is a very very dirty engine bay uh I'm going to have to put on the negative battery terminals for not only this battery but there's a battery in the trunk and uh after that we can give it the first start with these new engine mounts and a new transmission mount I can't wait okay this is the first startup with the new mounts uh sort of excited let's do it oh that is so much smoother wow so I still feel a slight Rumble uh it's it's very very slight but uh that could be also don't worry about the warning lights that's uh I've had the brake warning light but the ESP warning light is likely just because I disconnected the batteries and uh on any Mercedes you just just have to uh turn the wheel around a few times and it goes away but um the slight Rumble that I'm getting now is uh mainly due to it it might be the harmonic balancer uh but that is a very common thing uh I had to do it on my S-Class and it's it's a it's an easy job to do uh I can do that when I get back home let me rev it a little bit wow I can't feel anything that is awesome usually this would be shaking me like a pain hand Shaker but uh yeah this is this is quite good slight slight rumble on idle but nothing uh nothing too bad maybe it's supposed to be a little bit rumbly since it's a AMG but I think it's probably that harmonic balancer it's never been changed uh but that is a result so uh let's let's take it for a ride that's the true true test of uh this repair all right let's see see how this goes oh it's telling me to close the hood back in a bit okay now we can take it for a little bit of a Shakedown run oh wow ah I know that you guys can't feel the smoothness but if you look at my first video the first video where I unveiled this car and I take it for a little drive around you can hear that there's a d d d that that sort of vibration and that is 100% gone this feels sort of like n Mercedes oh boy so 8,900 bucks plus let's say 100 100 bucks for all the mounts and for nine grand you have something that all right all right let's uh let's calm down everybody it is so composed when a car is broken and you drive it for a while and then you you kind of realize you kind of get used to that Brokenness and then you fix that one little thing that made it broken it feels like a totally new car and this definitely feels like a totally new car uh not only new to me because I got this about four or 5 days ago um but it it feels very very solid and if you've seen my video of me going underneath the car with uh underneath a lift uh with the car on it then all right this is uh this is approaching the realm of scary fast so the takeaway from today's video is that you don't need to take a car like this to the dealer and I'm not going to say you need to take it ever um maybe there's uh a time when you do need to take it to a dealer I just haven't found it yet because every single thing that you can do uh to this car well everything every single thing that needs to get done to this car you can do at home and that includes diagnosing it that includes version coding all that stuff that uh that stuff all the electronic components those are available online they're available to both uh people that are looking for aftermarket Solutions and OEM Solutions so um these mounts uh I didn't get them at the dealer I didn't get them from Mercedes I just got them from a uh just a regular aftermarket site uh they are uh Cordo mounts and you can also look for the LM LM are a little bit more expensive but they're exactly the same part and uh the Mercedes mounts are exactly the same part and they're more expensive still like two times more expensive and it doesn't make any sense so these are exactly the mounts that I need for this car uh both the transmission and engine mounts and uh I am very very happy so we Sav round about ,000 well 900 bucks uh because the estimates that I was given is about $1,000 to do the mounts in this car and that's parts and labor so they would have to get Mercedes parts and they would also get Mercedes Labor uh and we did it for um it took me about 2 hours to do the entire thing well two to three hours because I had to figure out how to get everything off and just cleaning everything up and putting everything back in So 2 to 3 hours that's all done and the car is running like new um I am very very pleased and I think I'm rambling again so I think I'll end the video there but there is more to come on this car because I have a lot more to do and uh I think I have a few more adventures with this car before I leave New Jersey and before I go to Florida where the real fun begins okay I think I'm going to stay in here because it's rainy and gloomy outside and it's uh really nice and smooth in here plus I have the power of many many many horses at my right foot's disposal oh that never gets old um I'd like to tell my 40 some OD thousand subscribers thank you so much I appreciate it so much I love that you guys uh have given me a subscribe um that you trust me that much that you would devote some of your time uh to my car Antics and uh that really means a lot to me uh I think we can get that number higher I'd like that number to go higher I'd like to uh join I'd like you guys to join the the ones that haven't subscribed yet I I'd like you guys to join the ranks uh of I don't know what to what to call you guys um just my my subscribers um colleagues uh wellwishers uh that sort of stuff I really appreciate you guys um doing that so uh like comment subscribe as the old adage goes social uh you can find me at Instagram um and Twitter that is at theal tarish and facebook.com/ ask tarish ask tar.com as of our.com that's not maybe that should be a website as ofar atgmailcom is my email and uh you can reach me there but uh until next time when I will be working on some other bits and Bobs of this awesome awesome buy um then uh let's get started on that okay now that I've got everything everything off the top of the engine I did a little bit of work uh I undid the bottom uh two bolts there are uh 13 mm bolts on the um engine mounts and I lifted the engine with a jack I didn't have anything to uh put between the Jack and the engine you definitely don't want to put metal on metal so what I did is I got a bunch of these towels and I just made them really thick so I got maybe 10 of these towels folded them over each other and that should make a nice buffer so it's not metal on metal because this is aluminum and you don't want an aluminum oil pan to crack but um I lifted the engine about 1 and 1/2 in maybe maybe a little more and not sure if you can see it but right down there see that uh that brown thing that's the exhaust manifold it's underneath there and I sort of have to feel for the 16 mm bolt that's there it shouldn't be on there too tight uh I think the uh torque spec is like 55 ftlb so I should be able to get it off with my hand with a little bit of effort but um this is the pain in the butt because I don't know if I have enough space to get the AC compressor out this is the power steering and hydraulic pump in the AC compressor is underneath and it's held on to uh held on by three bolts and uh from what it looks like it looks like a uh a real real hell of a time um I would put the camera down there but it's very dark uh I'll try if if there's anything down there that's relevant I'll I'll let you guys know but um for now I think I'll just be working up top the other side actually it is pretty simple I mean there's not a lot of stuff in the way it's just that alternator and uh where's the alter yeah there you go alternator is right there uh alternator comes out and then I can get that 60mm bolt in there there's no steering rack in the way there's no uh AC or hydraulic lines and that one should be the easy one so um I don't want to start on the easy one I want to start on the hard one if we can get that one out it's not going to be a problem getting that one out so fingers crossed oh I'm actually wearing gloves this time okay so I did some work underneath the car and you see the engine is jacked up a lot uh so I lucked out a little bit I hope uh but I didn't have to take off any of the belts and I didn't have to take off the alternator and I didn't have to take off the AC compressor well I don't know if I'm going to have to take off the alternator yet I just uh got that side out and look at it there's any doubt that this thing was leaking I mean if I put it upside down probably see this nastiness yeah so this is fluid filled and this ruptured and yeah that's not the way it's supposed to be U look Left Behind it's crapping all over the place so that is what a bad mount looks like and this is what a good mount looks like now there are slight differences in uh height and well there should be because this is devoid of fluid and this uh is actually a uh a little um looks like a heat shield or something I'm going to see if I can take this off if not then I'll just put it in like that no big deal um but uh this is also really dirty so I might need to just clean this up all right now you can see the extent of the damage here is the Mount and you can see where it cracked right at the top wow this is uh not not optimal um yeah there's a there's a pretty big difference between the old Mount and the new Mount uh I will put this thing back on there after I clean it off um hopefully this is not going to be that hard to put in because it was extremely tight uh to get in there but um if I can finagle it in there that will be a major win and it's going to it's going to basically half the amount of time that this thing takes um apparently online people are telling uh well people are giving me the the advice that I should take off the alternator and the AC compressor and just move them forward I haven't actually had to do that um I just jacked up the engine a lot and wrestled this thing out of its out of its mounting location it is fiddly but it will work and I didn't harm anything no lines are being pinched uh nothing's leaking so that is uh that is really really good news so maybe I'll I'll Lube this up just a little bit so it slides past some of the uh some of the tighter ends and I know that sounded very suggestive but you know that's that's how it is working on cars so let's uh let's try to get this thing on there all right I'm underneath the car I am going to attempt to show you what I did now you can see that there is the uh Mount right there that's at the end of my finger what I'm pointing to um so there's a 16 mm nut uh or bolt rather on top of that and you can't actually take out the bolt because it's going to hit the exhaust manifold um what I've done is uh you can leave the bolt in there and you see that there's the uh there's that 16 mm wrench uh that I got specifically from Mercedes you can actually put uh this guy which is uh this uh extension on there with a ratchet and you can torque it down to spec what I did was I when I took out the mount uh the old Mount I just this uh this power steering line uh or rather hydraulic line I'm not sure if it's power steering I think it's power steering it might go to the suspension but uh let's just call it a power steering line um I slightly bent that back maybe about an inch it's it's fine it doesn't Kink anything uh it's not going to create any any issues for me but uh I bent that back and that gave me enough room with uh this engine cranked all the way up that I can snake this whole thing out uh so that was that was a God's end because if not I would have had to take out this AC compressor right there right at the top of the screen and that would have been not a lot of fun so that turned a potentially 4-Hour job into a 2-hour job but let's see if the other side is is uh is a little easier I'm going to Snug this side up first the other side should be a little easier but let's hope I didn't shoot myself in the foot with what I just said since I can't see anything underneath the car and it would be quite foolish of me to uh put the camera down there where I'm bumping into everything here is the second Mount and it doesn't look any better than the first you can see that it's cracked right there all the fluid has leaked out and looks like there is a uh sort of dead spider or something something right there yeah kind of kind of gnarly so I put the new mount in here and um before I lower the engine or actually I'm going to lower the engine and uh button this up but I'm also going to change the transmission mount and I think I might have some space down there so uh so I can show you guys what I'm doing but this is going this is going quite good everything's coming up mil house okay it is way tighter uh down here but um I have resorted to uh portrait mode because my camera won't fit uh in the regular orientation but here is the um the cross member for the transmission and the transmount is right here so it's held up by these two uh two bolts here and there's also one two bolts right here to take off this transmission mount uh or rather the cross member I have to put a jack on here undo six bolts three on this side three on this side uh undo these two uh these two bolts and undo these two bolts and the whole thing should come right out this shouldn't take too long at all and it's uh it's very very straightforward nothing else has to come out so uh that should be uh that should be a pretty easy thing and I want to get this car on the ground uh because I really really want to take it for a test drive um and I want to give you guys the impressions of what new mounts do for an old Mercedes all right uh so that actually was uh pretty easy I mean my arm is tired just because of the inverted position but uh I do need some exercise this is the old transmission mount and uh as you can see it's only two bolts over here and two bolts on the bottom uh this has seen better days this is totally trashed uh now I think that this is look if I just push a little push just a little bit the whole thing comes apart so this was wow so no wonder I had so much vibration uh all three mounts were shot and uh this is no bueno but uh this is an easy uh part to fix and this can alleviate a lot of um vibrational issues as well as the two mounts up there but uh right now I'm going to take the car I'm not even going to button up the uh the bottom as far as the uh those things the splash guards cuz I'm going to they are a little bit oily and they are a little bit dirty so I want to uh wash them off but before I do that I want to take this thing for a ride all right now that the intake filters are on and uh looking a little bit more snazzy I I did clean them up a little bit uh I will be doing a full engine detail so this isn't the final iteration this still is a very very dirty engine bay uh I'm going to have to put on the negative battery terminals for not only this battery but there's a battery in the trunk and uh after that we can give it the first start with these new engine mounts and a new transmission mount I can't wait okay this is the first startup with the new mounts uh sort of excited let's do it oh that is so much smoother wow so I still feel a slight Rumble uh it's it's very very slight but uh that could be also don't worry about the warning lights that's uh I've had the brake warning light but the ESP warning light is likely just because I disconnected the batteries and uh on any Mercedes you just just have to uh turn the wheel around a few times and it goes away but um the slight Rumble that I'm getting now is uh mainly due to it it might be the harmonic balancer uh but that is a very common thing uh I had to do it on my S-Class and it's it's a it's an easy job to do uh I can do that when I get back home let me rev it a little bit wow I can't feel anything that is awesome usually this would be shaking me like a pain hand Shaker but uh yeah this is this is quite good slight slight rumble on idle but nothing uh nothing too bad maybe it's supposed to be a little bit rumbly since it's a AMG but I think it's probably that harmonic balancer it's never been changed uh but that is a result so uh let's let's take it for a ride that's the true true test of uh this repair all right let's see see how this goes oh it's telling me to close the hood back in a bit okay now we can take it for a little bit of a Shakedown run oh wow ah I know that you guys can't feel the smoothness but if you look at my first video the first video where I unveiled this car and I take it for a little drive around you can hear that there's a d d d that that sort of vibration and that is 100% gone this feels sort of like n Mercedes oh boy so 8,900 bucks plus let's say 100 100 bucks for all the mounts and for nine grand you have something that all right all right let's uh let's calm down everybody it is so composed when a car is broken and you drive it for a while and then you you kind of realize you kind of get used to that Brokenness and then you fix that one little thing that made it broken it feels like a totally new car and this definitely feels like a totally new car uh not only new to me because I got this about four or 5 days ago um but it it feels very very solid and if you've seen my video of me going underneath the car with uh underneath a lift uh with the car on it then all right this is uh this is approaching the realm of scary fast so the takeaway from today's video is that you don't need to take a car like this to the dealer and I'm not going to say you need to take it ever um maybe there's uh a time when you do need to take it to a dealer I just haven't found it yet because every single thing that you can do uh to this car well everything every single thing that needs to get done to this car you can do at home and that includes diagnosing it that includes version coding all that stuff that uh that stuff all the electronic components those are available online they're available to both uh people that are looking for aftermarket Solutions and OEM Solutions so um these mounts uh I didn't get them at the dealer I didn't get them from Mercedes I just got them from a uh just a regular aftermarket site uh they are uh Cordo mounts and you can also look for the LM LM are a little bit more expensive but they're exactly the same part and uh the Mercedes mounts are exactly the same part and they're more expensive still like two times more expensive and it doesn't make any sense so these are exactly the mounts that I need for this car uh both the transmission and engine mounts and uh I am very very happy so we Sav round about ,000 well 900 bucks uh because the estimates that I was given is about $1,000 to do the mounts in this car and that's parts and labor so they would have to get Mercedes parts and they would also get Mercedes Labor uh and we did it for um it took me about 2 hours to do the entire thing well two to three hours because I had to figure out how to get everything off and just cleaning everything up and putting everything back in So 2 to 3 hours that's all done and the car is running like new um I am very very pleased and I think I'm rambling again so I think I'll end the video there but there is more to come on this car because I have a lot more to do and uh I think I have a few more adventures with this car before I leave New Jersey and before I go to Florida where the real fun begins okay I think I'm going to stay in here because it's rainy and gloomy outside and it's uh really nice and smooth in here plus I have the power of many many many horses at my right foot's disposal oh that never gets old um I'd like to tell my 40 some OD thousand subscribers thank you so much I appreciate it so much I love that you guys uh have given me a subscribe um that you trust me that much that you would devote some of your time uh to my car Antics and uh that really means a lot to me uh I think we can get that number higher I'd like that number to go higher I'd like to uh join I'd like you guys to join the the ones that haven't subscribed yet I I'd like you guys to join the ranks uh of I don't know what to what to call you guys um just my my subscribers um
