iOS 13.1 - This NEEDS to be Fixed.. _ iOS 13.1 Beta 1 Review
**The Experience with iOS 13.1 Beta 1: A Mixed Bag**
All these icons are still super low quality, so I complained about this in iOS 13. I'm starting to think it's not even a bug; I don't know why I put that but the images here, the icons are just super low quality, another annoying thing for my single peeps out there - Bumble application is actually buggy in iOS 13.1 as well, even though there was an update when you go to click on a chat, you will see that it just crashes right away; that never happened in iOS 13, any of the betas so for some reason and I was thirteen point one it does crash and the last book - Podcast wouldn't even pause so if I went to the control center and tried to pause a podcast, it wouldn't pause and we just sit there and keep playing for like 30 seconds and then it would eventually pause; so it was laggy sometimes, I wouldn't pause at all. There's just an issue with podcasts when trying to pause them.
Aside from all those annoying bugs, the performance in terms of just like fluidity and just the quickness overall of the OS performance is great on iOS 13.1, it feels about the same as iOS 13, a beta 8 because again I have not had any random reboots; I've had any crashes like the actual Springboard crashes; I've had app crashes but everything's smooth, I mean everything flows really nicely especially for being a beta one, which is I think the reason that Apple pushed this out before the final version of iOS 13 got released because they want this to be like the real version of iOS 13 that everybody uses.
**Battery Life on iOS 13.1**
I've actually been getting pretty decent battery life here on iOS 13 point one, so you can see there obviously the screen on and screen off time doesn't tell a lot because I have been charging it throughout the day, but I have noticed that it's pretty much remained about the same as iOS 13; I mean is 13 from like beta 5 through beta 8 was pretty much identical and I would say the iOS 13 point one is about the same. However, if I did have to say if iOS 13 paid 8 or if iOS thirteen point one is better with battery life, I would probably say iOS 13 bit 8 only because there are random crashes and random things that just take up more power to do on iOS 13.1 because of those bugs like with Bumble like with podcasts like with you know the app - The Hangouts app crashing and things like that; I just think that battery life on iOS 13 bit 8 will end up being better than iOS 13 point one but of course it's still a little bit early to judge on battery life with iOS thirteen point one beta one.
**Conclusion**
I would say that iOS thirteen point one beta two will probably improve battery life, that's just usually how it goes when going from a beta 1 to beta 2 no matter what firmware it is. Yeah, that's pretty much it for iOS thirteen point one beta one if you didn't update already I'd probably wait until beta two gets released since I was thirteen point one beta one is a bit buggy and the circumstances surrounding whether or not we'll even get an iOS 13.0 release are kind of sketchy at the moment; I would think that we would I wouldn't think Apple just skips over a firmware but I have seen rumors and people speculating about that online so again if I were you, and you did an update already, I would just wait for iOS thirteen point one beta two.
If you are on iOS thirteen point one beta one, let me know down in a comment below how the firmware has been running for you; how the software has been running for you on a daily basis again, I am using these betas on my daily driver - My iPhone 10s and Mac's so I do think that they are stable enough to use on your daily driver; don't think it's gonna be anything that's really gonna mess you up. I haven't had any drop phone calls; my signals never dropped or anything like that.
If you enjoyed this video, I would appreciate it if you gave it a thumbs up; also, leave a comment down below with your experience on this software and of course make sure you guys do subscribe so you can see all of my updates on iOS thirteen point one when the new bit has come out. My reviews - all that good stuff so anyways guys thanks again for watching and I'll see you soon.
"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enwhat's up guys my name is Brandon and I've been using iOS 13.1 for a few days now on my daily driver iPhone 10's max as well as my iPhone 10 our and the iPad pro so in this video I just wanted to share my experience with you guys talk about some more new features and changes talk about some bugs going on the performance battery life all the fun stuff that you guys care about so obviously iOS 13.1 was a very big surprise when it came out because we don't even have the official version of iOS 13 point oh yeah so it's gonna make things really interesting to see next month when iOS 13 the GM build gets released probably on September 10th the day of the Apple event but we will see it's pretty confusing 13.1 will probably be out you know either in September or maybe October but as of right now pretty much everybody's confused because Apple has only done this one time in the past and that was on iOS 9 so I will elaborate on the whole release of iOS 13.1 before iOS 13 point Oh later on as there's a little bit more clarity involved because right now again everybody's still a little bit confused but anyways let's jump in and talk about more of the new features and changes found in iOS 13 point one so one of the first things I noticed in iOS thirteen point one it comes in the share sheet and when we go to airdrop something so when you airdrop a photo we go ahead to airdrop you will see that it now shows the device picture instead of actually showing like the Apple ID photo that you would have by default instead of a placeholder and now actually shows like a product shot of the actual product so it says iPad right there and it shows a picture of an iPad and set up like my Apple ID picture which would be that Steelers logo that you see right there so I do like this change I think it makes things look a little bit more uniformed and not as cluttered and everything looking the same since everything would have like the same icon it makes them stand out a little bit more and makes it easier for you to determine which device is which another thing I noticed shortly after shooting my original iOS 13.1 what's new video is that when you take a screenshot when you have the volume indicator right there before it would actually disappear so the volume indicator the volume HUD would disappear when you take a screenshot but now you can actually capture that in a screenshot so you can see there it doesn't disappear and I could actually capture the volume HUD in a screenshot which you could not do in iOS 13.0 and speaking of the volume HUD obviously Apple is tweaking the volume HUD quite a bit since it's so different in I was 13 but I was 13 point 1 and now takes 2 taps the volume up or volume down to make the bar skinny whereas before and I was thirteen point oh it would take three taps I've either volume up or down to make the bar skinny and if we go into the control center and 3d touch on volume right here you will notice that the icons are a little bit larger than they were and iOS 13 point zero and I wasn't able to take a screenshot of this but I noticed that if you guys remember in my iOS 13.1 what's new video when you change the volume the volume hood right here will indicate the output so if you had air pods and set of that little speaker right there would show an icon of the air pods well actually when you're in a phone call and you turn the volume up or down and will show the actual phone icon right there so it goes for phone calls and for FaceTime so I actually notice this when I was in a FaceTime call and I turned the volume down and it actually showed like an icon right there so we do also have some minor changes to some emojis here in iOS 13.1 as well now iOS 13.1 as normally when we get all new emojis but we have not got those yet maybe it's because we're only in beta 1 maybe beta 2 we will see all of the new emojis but there are some tweaked ones in the first beta of iOS 13.1 you can see there the puzzle emoji is actually now green that puzzle icon used to be blue and now also with the heart emoji so the heart eyes the loved emoji right there and also the kissy face the hearts now actually have reflections in them so you may have to look a little closer than normal but they actually do have reflections in them they look a little bit more refined a little bit more realistic than they did in iOS 13 so I like these minor changes to the emojis just to make them look that much better and again I would expect to see the new emojis here very soon in iOS 13.1 now the last thing I wanted to talk about is that adding music to playlists seems a tiny bit faster in iOS 13 point one so this has been one of my major complaints ever since iOS 13 at beta 1 I was 13 point o beta 1 is how slow everything is when you add it to a playlist when you add it to your library anything in the music application is slow but now it's a little bit faster it's still slow but a little bit faster so for instance I just go ahead and 3d touch on this and add it to a playlist we'll add this to my rap playlist you can see it takes a little bit a few seconds and then it finally says added to playlist but it is a little bit faster than it was on iOS 13 beta 8 but again it's still slow I can't wait until that's immediate and it doesn't seem like it's lagging so those are a few more features and changes that I found so far in iOS 13.1 now let's talk about some of the bugs because there are quite a few bugs and one of the ones you probably saw earlier is actually in these share sheets and when we go to the share sheet you will see the whole top row is actually blurred out now I don't know if this is a feature or a bug but it's supposed to show your contacts right there so it kind of like recommended contacts I don't know if it's because I just didn't send a link like this to anybody so it's just showing nothing because I haven't sent it anybody but in iOS 13 it actually showed like your contacts up there so I'm not sure if that's a bug or if it just hasn't filled in all the way yet because it hasn't learned who I send stuff to but that is something that I noticed right away now something else that I noticed right away is inside of the music application so if you go into the music application and go to a song and go to the lyrics you will notice that the lyrics are broken so I'm just gonna play this song real quick and if we go ahead and open up the lyrics we're supposed to actually follow along with the song you will notice that it does not follow along with the song at all and actually the only time it will follow along with the song like do the actual karaoke lyrics so if you tap on a lyric and then it will continue from there and it will actually follow the lyrics but by default when you just start playing a song and go to the lyrics it doesn't actually play the lyrics in order like this it doesn't actually scroll down for you you have to scroll down manually and just see the lyrics and it doesn't highlight when it's actually on that part of those song so that's pretty annoying because I do like to use the lyrics feature a lot in iOS 13 so I'm sure that will be fixed pretty soon now another thing that I noticed instantly in iOS 13.1 I say instantly but this is pretty much after just using it for one day and I didn't take a screenshot or a video recording of this because it's kind of hard to but with quick replies and when you quick reply to a text message you're actually not able to press the X to get out of the quick reply message so when you you either look at the text message or you reply to it when you go to click X you can't so you basically just have to swipe up from the bottom to go home and that cancels out of that quick reply menu so that's pretty annoying because I do use quick reply a lot with my text messages I usually use it just to see what the text message says and I want to click X and go back to what I was doing but I'm not able to do that without swiping up and going home on iOS 13.1 so I hope that is fixed in beta 2 now if you use Google Hangouts that application does also crash on launched in iOS 13 point one so it doesn't even work now also if we go into the App Store and go to apps and scroll down you will see that the top paid free apps all this all these icons are still super low quality so I complained about this in iOS 13 I'm starting to think it's not even a bug I don't know why I put that but the images here the icons are just super low quality another annoying thing for my single peeps out there the bumble application is actually buggy in iOS 13.1 as well even though there was an update when you go to click on a chat you will see that it just crashes right away that
