an HDMI output let's talk about the Silicon in these new Max the hotly anticipated M4 series Apple wanted very badly to be quick to the 3 nanometer process so when they developed the M3 series in the current models they helped tsmc create the n3b process I believe Apple at least originally was the exclusive user of the n3b process because it was so early it did have compromises including possibly being more expensive and having a reduced yield it's why I believed Apple was so Hasty to move the iPad Pro to the M4 and its newer n3e process I don't see any problem at all with the M3 or the n3b process but I do think there's some benefits to n3e for apple and the M4 ch notably n3e is able to improve those yields and drop the cost of production Apple will likely use the n3e process for the iPhone's a18 Pro chip too the M4 will be in the base 14-in MacBook Pro while the M4 Pro and M4 Max will be in the higher end 14 and 16in models the M4 on the iPad Pro has a nine core CPU split between three performance cores and six efficiency cores I expect we'll see something similar for that entrylevel MacBook Pro that would be one more core than the M3 model has which is split between four and four for the performance and efficiency cores of course it'll also have a more powerful neural engine to Aid with apple intelligence if we could pause for just one second I have to thank my sponsor news that panel shipments had begun in July to August which would coincide with Q4 with just a spec bump I don't necessarily think that an event is in order so this may just be a press release or a shortened Apple film like they've done in the past it it will also ship with Mac OS seoa which is currently in beta testing have you tried out Sequoia yet by the way I've been testing it I've been loving it I want to see how many of you down in the comments also have not to disparage these new machines in any way because they're going to rock but I'm really more excited about what lies ahead it sounds like we'll see our first M5 Max in late 2025 and these MacBook Pros May finally get that redesign Apple has been on a thinness hair recently I've covered at length Apple's plans for a thinner iPhone 17 air for next year you can learn more about that in the video I've linked here Bloomberg says Apple's iPhone Apple watch and MacBook Pro are all getting redesigned to be incredibly thin like the iPad Pro seriously I've been using this thing for a while now and I'm obsessed with it the thinness makes a huge difference I'm very curious to how this play out with other products to bolster that thinner redesign are rumors that the 2025 MacBook Pro will utilize tandm OLED technology that's the same Tech used to make the iPad Pro so thin finally one last thing to keep in mind and to be excited about well-known analyst M quo says apple is planning to launch a new M5 powered creaseless foldable Mac in 2026 Apple's considering a 20.25 5 in display option however it may use an 18.8 in display panel as well LG display is thought to be the exclusive panel provider with mass production scheduled for Q4 of 2025 and the first half of 2026 this is slightly earlier than the previous 2027 predictions least we get ahead of ourselves the MacBook Pro isn't the only new Max arriving here in 2024 the iMac will get that sweet sweet M4 chip too the then there's the Mac Mini it said Apple will be shrinking the Mac Mini down to a footprint only a fraction of what it is now Apple hasn't changed the design here in years with the efficiencies and apple silicon I can see this happening the biggest question for me is like is the power supply currently it takes up like 25 to 30% of the internal space of the Mac Mini so like if it was Tiny where would that power supply go and obvious solution would be to put it into the power cable just like on the iMac so that's an option for those wondering about the MacBook Air that's a story for a different video let me know which of these new
