The Thrill of Drag Racing: A Tesla and Hummer Face-Off

In a thrilling display of speed and power, two of the most unlikely competitors faced off on the drag strip - a Tesla and a Hummer. The Tesla, loaded with passengers, managed to complete the standing quarter mile in an impressive 11.2 seconds, while the Hummer took 12 seconds to cross the finish line.

As the competition got underway, it was clear that this was going to be a battle for the ages. The commentators were on hand to guide viewers through the action, and their enthusiasm was infectious. "The way this thing puts its power down is pretty special," one of them noted. "It's less inertia, I think, because of being electric." Another added, "That's just another level fast, isn't it?" The Tesla's acceleration was indeed impressive, but the Hummer was not to be underestimated.

However, when asked about his actual weight, Sam claimed that he weighed around 87 kilos before the trip, and then added that he had gained an extra 82 kilos during the journey. His opponent, on the other hand, was confident in their own car's abilities and refused to play ball.

The two competitors took off from a standing start at 30 mph, with Sam calling out "3 2 1 go!" as they hit the gas. The Tesla quickly pulled ahead, but Sam was not far behind. However, when he tried to accelerate again, it became clear that he had cheated - or at least, he hadn't called out his 3 2 1 go loudly enough. Despite this, the commentators were impressed with the added weight of Sam's car and how little it seemed to affect its performance.

With the competition heating up, Sam suggested a new challenge - a quarter mile race from a standing start. The objective was not only to see which car could complete the distance first but also to reach a speed of 106 mph. "Let's do that," he said, and with that, the two cars took off once again.

In the end, it was Sam who emerged victorious, crossing the finish line before his opponent had reached 106 mph. However, the Tesla still managed to complete the quarter mile in an impressive time of 11.5 seconds - a full second faster than its opponent. When asked about his secret strategy, Sam claimed that his car's brakes didn't smoke when he hit the gas, which seemed like a pretty significant advantage.

As the competition came to an end, the commentators reflected on what had been a truly unique and entertaining experience. "I really hope you enjoyed the video," one of them said. there are three versions there's a rear drive version with a single motor there's a dual motor version which has four-wheel drive and then there's this one which is known as the Cyber Beast it has three motors one in the front and two on the rear the result is a combined 845 horsepower and 930 newm of torque now this is quite a heavy truck because you got a big battery of about 123 KW hours this thing weighs in at 3,080 kilos terms of pricing $96,000 before taxes that the entry level cyber drug starts from around $50,000 however we need to find out about its rival the Hummer EV and let's find out about it from its driver we got racing driver Sam with us hello racing driver Sam you appear to have come to America with us we are definitely in America aren't we well for sure we can't get either of these cars in Europe and I'm not sure whether this Tesla is ever going to be sold in Europe because of pedestrian protection regulations in the EU are a little bit stricter than in the US as this is a tri motor which is super cool two on the rear axle one on the front with some special bits and pieces 104 horsepower which is a lot but uh I think that's kind of in the ballpark with you 1,485 newm of torque all-wheel drive but this weighs 4,100 kilos XS is the word of the day I think and the starting price is 9,000 which is about £86,000 it's really interesting let's put the stats up of these vehicles side by side so you can actually look at them you basically have me beaten on power on torque your battery is considerably large I think it's like 230 KW hours or something like that but that means it's really heavy and I've got you well and truly beat on weight and this is slightly less expensive than that it's going to be interesting this race now this is the part of the video steering so when you're like going around tight turns you're not constantly going like out on the steering wheel it does it all for you making the steering wheel not do anything isn't proving the off the line do you want another go best out of three it's not going to help you it's now become a thing a little is good more must be better three two one he was better off the line that time no my God it seems to top out like 113 so I didn't hook up quite as well that time you got a better launch than the first go I still beat you and what's interesting is I'm hitting my like what seems to be a limited top speed before the quarter mile it seems to top out about 114 m hour how about you this gets to 106 mph pretty quickly and that's it while it looks like you're gapping me I think had my speed kept going after 106 I don't think the Gap would have been that big but likewise you know I could have done a quicker quarter mile time if they just increased the top speed by I don't know like 5 10 m hour let me just check that with the Tesla guy so we just do one more run absolutely can I just make one point when I put this into launch mode it's called whatts as in the electrical watts to freedom and then the seat vibrates the entire time until you launch it's making me confused yeah haven't had a little accident have you as a result you can power hose these out can't you so rich is a top speed like a limiter on this car what are you hitting 114 bit of product feedback I think it might be worth raising it just a few more on hour to get you to the quter mile you got it no problem I won't send you a bill for that bit of consultancy advice so we've got a laptop hooked up to the car and we're doing a firmware update to it so before anyone starts get intention is cheating they're not cheating what's happened is this is a pre-production car it's a test vehicle that the engineers use it's on Old firmware now the rear drive and the dual motor cars are limited to 112 mph however the cyberbeast the tri motor versions have a limit of 130 mph but this being a test vehicle it's still got the old firmware on which isn't right for the cyberbeast version that it actually is so they're putting the proper cyberbeast firmware on now which will take the top speed from 112 to 130 so it's like the what exactly the customer will have so they're now making it as a customer car would be and we'll see what that does to the time by how much more I can destroy Sam right then we've stood around I've had a drink I've had a Wii are you happy are you ready you've done something so
