I sold a FAKE GRAPHICS CARD on StockX

The World of StockX: A Cautionary Tale of Counterfeit Goods and Authenticity

As I delved deeper into the world of StockX, a popular marketplace for buying and selling new and used goods, including electronics and PC hardware, I couldn't help but feel a sense of unease. My journey began with a relatively inexpensive graphics card, which seemed like an easy target for scammers. Little did I know that this simple transaction would lead me down a rabbit hole of authenticity and deception.

I had received a notification from StockX about a new shipment of PC hardware, including the very same graphics card I was interested in purchasing. The seller claimed to be shipping the product to me directly, and all seemed well until I opened the package and found that it contained a hard drive instead of the advertised graphics card. I immediately contacted StockX, and after some back-and-forth with their customer support team, they asked me to send them photos of the fake product as proof.

The process was surprisingly smooth, and I was able to send the images quickly and easily through their website. However, it soon became clear that this was no ordinary scam. StockX asked me to send back the fake graphics card so that they could inspect it in person before offering a refund. This level of transparency and customer care is rare in the world of online marketplaces, and I couldn't help but feel impressed by StockX's handling of the situation.

As I waited for the resolution, I began to wonder about the effectiveness of StockX's authentication process. Were they truly able to spot fakes and scams, or was this just a clever ruse? The answer became clear when the seller finally sent back the fake graphics card, complete with a detailed explanation of how it was created. It turned out that the scammers had been using a technique called "soldering," where they would attach a fake graphics card to a legitimate one without damaging it.

The resolution was eventually reached, and I received a full refund for my purchase price. However, what struck me most about this experience was the way StockX handled the situation. They never once blamed the buyer or seller, instead choosing to focus on finding a solution that worked for both parties. This level of customer care is rare in the world of online marketplaces, and it's clear that StockX has taken steps to mitigate the risk of scams and counterfeit goods.

One thing that was striking about this experience was the lack of blame-shifting. In many cases, scammers will try to shift the responsibility onto the buyer or seller, claiming that they were the ones who should have been more careful or vigilant. However, StockX avoided this trap altogether, focusing instead on finding a solution that worked for both parties. This level of transparency and customer care is rare in the world of online marketplaces, and it's clear that StockX has taken steps to mitigate the risk of scams and counterfeit goods.

In conclusion, my experience with StockX was a complex one, filled with twists and turns that ultimately led me to a resolution that worked for both parties. While there are certainly risks associated with buying and selling on this marketplace, I believe that it's still one of the safest options available. By offering a level of transparency and customer care that few other marketplaces can match, StockX has established itself as a leader in the world of online marketplaces.

But what about those who haven't used StockX before? Should they consider using this marketplace in the future? The answer is complex, with pros and cons on both sides. On the one hand, StockX offers a level of convenience and accessibility that's hard to find elsewhere. With its large selection of products and competitive pricing, it's easy to see why so many people are drawn to this marketplace.

On the other hand, there are certainly risks associated with buying and selling on StockX. As we saw in my experience, scammers can use various techniques to create fake products that look like the real thing. This raises questions about the effectiveness of StockX's authentication process and whether it's truly doing enough to protect its customers.

Ultimately, the decision to use StockX will depend on your individual circumstances and priorities. If you're looking for a convenient and accessible marketplace with a wide selection of products, then StockX may be worth considering. However, if you're concerned about the risks associated with buying and selling online, you may want to look elsewhere.

As I reflect on my experience with StockX, I'm left with more questions than answers. How effective is their authentication process? Can they truly spot fakes and scams? And what steps can be taken to mitigate these risks? These are all questions that will likely continue to be debated by users of this marketplace in the future.

In any case, my experience with StockX has been a valuable one, filled with lessons learned about authenticity and deception. While there's certainly risk associated with buying and selling on this marketplace, I believe that it's still one of the safest options available. By offering a level of transparency and customer care that few other marketplaces can match, StockX has established itself as a leader in the world of online marketplaces.

So if you're considering using StockX in the future, be aware of the risks and take steps to mitigate them. Always research your seller thoroughly, and never be afraid to ask questions or seek clarification. And most importantly, stay vigilant – after all, that's what scammers are counting on.

"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enso i'm gonna have to find something else that's around the same weight and size to replace it with i'm just dropping this off it is out of my hands now we'll just have to see what happens during authentication right now in the summer of 2022 graphics card prices are as low as they've been since the pandemic started we've had two years of horrible shortages price gouging scalping and that all seems to be behind us but it wasn't too long ago that prices were through the roof and websites like ebay offer up facebook marketplace and many others were filled with scams trying to take advantage of people simply trying to find any decent graphics card they could it created a pretty big market for people that wanted to buy genuine products and to be confident that they weren't being scammed now sure websites like ebay and offer up has buyer protection but some people would rather not risk their money being tied up for days or weeks while scammers drag their feet when it comes to communication during disputes as well as the time it takes these websites to sometimes investigate the situation before actually getting you your money back income stockx a company that originally started off as a marketplace for people to resell sneakers and designer clothing but during the first year of the pandemic expanded to electronics such as smartphones consoles and what most of you all watching this video care about computer electronics namely graphics cards what sets them apart is that they have inspection facilities where sellers must first send their products to so that a trained authenticator can take a look at it and decide if it's real or fake before sending it off to the buyer i want to test stockx's authentication methods i want to see if i can pull off getting a bogus graphics card through one of the inspection facilities and into the hands of a buyer on the other side can i pull this off we'll see this video is brought to you by java.gg a marketplace created specifically for gamers by gamers where you can buy and sell pretty much anything your nerd heart desires individual components such as cpus and graphics cards laptops peripherals consoles accessories tons of fully built custom pcs you name it all browsable with a very thought out user interface and filtering system jawa has the lowest seller fees compared to all other competing marketplaces out there sellers keep more of their profits and buyers can rest easy knowing that jawa actively monitors listings to ensure that there's no egregious price gouging and scalping java vets and verifies sellers who align with their core values of keeping prices fair so be on the lookout for sellers with this check mark on their profile as they'll likely have listings for sale that would be hard to be anywhere else whether you're looking to buy components for your next build or to sell off older parts that you've recently upgraded from definitely consider using java for all your pc buying and selling needs and now back to the video now you may be asking yourself why is he even doing this gravity's cards are so easy to find right now anyone buying one could just go straight to amazon or newegg or some other online retailer and buy a brand new one with zero issues whatsoever and you're right but taking a look at stockx's listings which they do have a record of recent sales you can see that people are still buying some graphics cards on there even up till very recently but that's not the point of me bringing this up the main reason i'm bringing this up is because there will be times in the future where people will turn to stockx again as a primary source of scarce pc parts some of these events may be unpredictable like if there's another pandemic a natural disaster or some world event that massively impacts global supply chains on top of that though there are events that are very predictable and we know where it's going to happen again and that's mainly going to deal with the new launch of products we've seen it time and time again when nvidia or amd launches their new line of cards people rush to buy them and they usually sell out and can be hard to find for the initial weeks or sometimes months to follow so yeah i think stockx as a platform to buy and sell computer parts isn't going away even post coping 19. so here's what we're gonna do i have a brand new graphics card right here this is a power color fighter rx 6600 i bought it brand new from amazon and it still has its seal intact most graphics cards are packaged like this they don't have any shrink wrap all around them it's just a product box and sometimes there's one seal like this one has and other boxes depending on the type has two seals on each end this is where i have questions about stockx's authentication methods how are they verifying that people are sending in legit graphics cards are they just looking at the packaging to make sure that the seals aren't broken it's different with shoes and clothing because most of the time those don't come sealed and they can be inspected for things like tags stitching logos etc to make sure that it's authentic but for a graphics card since it's supposedly coming into them brand new and sealed they have to maintain that so that the value of the card isn't affected simply by opening it up during their inspection they must just be looking at the packaging to see if it's real or not and that's what we're going to try to bypass originally i was going to cut the seal and just put a new seal sticker on but i actually want to see if i can preserve the original one to do that i'm actually going to be using a heat gun i'm also going to be using a kitchen scale to try to replicate the weight of the original box or as close as i can to it just in case that's one of the things that stockx checks 25.6 ounces i'm gonna use the heat gun to loosen the adhesive on here and then try to peel the sticker off without damaging it i got it off so i can open it now but i don't know if this is gonna look good when i put it back down we'll see and if not i do have a backup plan so let's pull out this card 16.0 ounces according to my scale let me actually see if i can find some like rocks or something outside and uh yeah see if i could replace it with some rocks all right no luck with the rocks outside it was just all mostly like smaller pieces of gravel and i didn't want to put a bunch of the gravel in like a bag and then put in the box because they make like an unexpected like crunchy so i didn't want that going on in the box so i'm gonna have to find something else inside the office that's around the same weight and size to replace it with something that's not worth much just like useless junk all right so this is what i was able to come up with this is a 160 gigabyte western digital blue three and a half inch hard drive this thing weighs 14.6 so we are really close to this i think for the last 1.4 ounce i'm gonna try to find some styrofoam or just some cushioning that i can put in there so it fills up the space but also meets the weight let's see how much this foam weighs 16.0 there we go so i think this is the amount of foam that needs to be packed with this hard drive now this needs to go in the bag so that it makes the same sounds uh this isn't gonna fit in there let's see how much it weighs so 24.8 and we're going for a 25.6 originally i need to find something to fill that weight the last 0.8 ounces because uh i don't think i could fit this stuff in there cut some of this 25.6 there we go pretty much good to go wait still 25.6 so now we gotta see what sealing it up looks like well i got some bad news yeah that's no way that's gonna pass that's way too obvious so we gotta go to the backup plan so i did buy some of the seal stickers from amazon it just comes in this roll of tape and let me take one off for you just to show you so just a piece of sticker which this is basically gonna be the it's like the same exact thing this is a square sticker so i just need to cut this down to a square shape uh and then i should be good to go so let me actually remove this sticker from here completely now pretty much all of it just comes right off and there you go no more residue all right so what i got to do now is take one of these stickers cut it down to a square shape if you saw from the other sticker it has rounded edges it's not a square cut these stickers they actually come rounded but since i just made a cut to make it a square all i got to do is take the side that was squared off and cut rounded corners into it all right and we are pretty much good to go again uh let's show the insides this is what we're sending right i'm pressing it onto this side and now pulling it closed and there you have it the final product now if i were to hand this to you would you be able to tell that was the original one or not if you look at the rounded corners down here i think those look pretty good it's kind of hard to see but yeah so now we need a buyer for this and don't worry i'm not actually going to try to scam some unsuspecting stranger uh that would be super messed up and i have zero intentions in doing that the main purpose of this video is to test stockx so i recruited the help of my friend matt from the tech by matt youtube channel to help out with this he will be buying the car that way we ensure that this whole thing is controlled and no one is actually getting scammed uh if this is successful a dud graphics card would have left my hands in washington state traveled to where the authentication facility is and then to florida where matt lives and then he would unbox it there so yeah let's fast forward to the selling and buying of this and see what happens alright so i'm here with my uh good friend matt from tech by matt you want to say hello hey so uh all right what i'm going to do is i'm going to list the the graphics card now so let me go do that so other people who have listed this they're asking for at least 324. so i'm gonna put uh i think 319. so as a seller they're going to take 10 transaction fee for me there's a payment processing fee which is 3 so that's about uh 10 bucks and then so my total payout for selling this card would be 277 so i'm gonna go to the next as a seller i have to put in my billing information if my item doesn't pass authentication they're gonna charge me money for wasting their time and they're gonna send it back to me okay do you know what the fee is for i think it's 15 bucks if i read correctly not awful i need a post on the screen what the exact thing is but yeah so after all the fees it's gonna knock it down to 270 you said 277 is what my take-home is going to be assuming this all works out and then i'm curious on your end what the fees is going to be though i've never used stockx so yeah i've never used stockx either so this is just gonna be a learning experience and just sharing with the viewers like what the fees are associated on those buyer and sellers so okay uh i got there i got everything ready to go wait review ask my item is brand new and in original undamaged packaging i will ship within two business days of sale to avoid penalties and i acknowledge the stockx will open and thoroughly examine contents within the package to ensure authenticity they're not opening it i'm pretty sure they don't open it but we'll see so i'm going to confirm the ask right now all right success my ass is live at 3 19 it says so now on your end you should be able to find it i'm on the page amd power color radeon rx 6600 fighter dual fan 8 gigabyte graphics card yup buy for 319. yup there it is all right that should be it next okay paypal shipping info that all looks good in terms of fees the purchase price is 319. sales tax is 24.73 okay processing fee is 14.35 oh that's not too bad i thought it would have been more than that then shipping is 19.95 the full total to 378 dollars okay so it's basically a hundred dollars over what your what the money you're making all right i'm gonna hit place order now and it's spinning it's spinning let's see come on order confirmed the sellers allowed two full business days to ship your item to stockx uh they'll verify the product when it arrives and i'll receive a tracking number as soon as the item leaves yeah i got the email for when my ask went live and then i got the email you sold your item and you power color rxe600 all right so let me see this you're you sold your item shipped by august 2nd which is fine i'll ship it out in a little bit yeah i think we are good to go so uh yeah so now all we have to do i got to do is pack this up ship it out and then we just wait and hopefully it passes through i think this is as good as i'm going to be able to pack it time to drop this off to ups hello hello just just dropping this off drop off your seat drop off and you're done thank you very much all right so it is out of my hands now we'll just have to see what happens during authentication so i sent the package out last friday that was in the morning right now it is the following wednesday so this morning at around 8 30 a.m stockx sends me an email letting me know that my package arrived at their authentication center uh then shortly after that a little like an hour afterwards around 9 30 they sent me a follow-up email saying that my money is on the way so apparently they authenticated it pretty fast so they sent me all the money to my paypal account uh i got it shortly after they sent the email about the payment and then i took that money and i transferred it to my bank and got out of that the paypal just in case they try to get it back later on down the road but i was surprised at how fast they were able to authenticate it i don't know if they don't have a big queue up right now or maybe they have a different cue for you know the people who are looking at shoes and clothing and things like that versus the people looking at the electronics i guess with electronics having to be new and a lot of it is probably sealed it's a lot easier to you know authenticate versus you know when they actually have to open up the shoes and like look at the clothes and stuff but now what we have to do is wait for them to send that to matt down in florida and uh yeah then we'll open it up but we'll see what happens i'm on a call again with matt this is after he got the package and uh he already opened it up so my original intent was for us to be on a call and matt open it live on the call so we can both get our reactions but um i didn't say that in our dm's back and forth so matt went ahead and opened it and that's the b-roll footage that you would have just seen uh in this video and he recorded how he normally would his tech video so matt thank you for doing that what what were you saying to me in the dms about the the sticker when you got the box and you opened it up all right so i have it right here what's interesting is instead of your seal right here is a stock x seal meaning they removed the original seal that you put on what they thought was the original seal and they put on one that says always verified authentic since 2016. there's also another qr code on there they opened this up but didn't even open the box apparently because when you open it up it's not like you had something over here to cover the contents or anything yeah it's just the hard drive itself like for shoes and stuff what they normally do is after they authenticate the shoes they have one of those like it's kind of like almost a keychain that says stockx authenticate and then they put it on the shoelace or something just to verify that and i think what that sticker is is that their version of that for electronic devices so once they check it they put it on there so what i'm thinking is do you think they just put that green sticker over mine like can you look underneath that sticker and see if the original transparent seal is there it's not actually no no i'm wrong there is the originals it does look like there's the original sticker on it i'll get more b-roll shots of it yeah and then we can show that on the screen it does look like the original seal was under it one of the things about stockx is people are able to trade their things and keep it basically brand new like they're an item being sold on stockx should not lose value uh because it was open so that's why i was so confident that there's no way they were gonna open it so and then you sent me the footage of you taking the pictures of everything as proof right how did you go about sending it did you do it through like an email or was it like just you had to go through like a submit form on their website where you put your name your order number and then details about it basically i just told them i ordered a graphics card when i opened it up there wasn't a graphics card in there it was a hard drive i'd like to get this resolved as soon as possible thanks and attached photos we'll see how long it takes for them even to get back to me all right sweet well matt thank you for the help um and then yeah i'll talk to you later sounds good all right so a resolution was finally reached for all this stockx asked matt to send back the fake graphics card so that they could see it in person before refunding him the money i do have to commend them though because at no point during this process did they try to put the blame on matt as the buyer or on me as the seller they actually never contacted me at all through all this and that was probably because there's no way for them to tell who the scammer is in this situation to them there's an equal chance that the seller or the buyer could be trying to scam and i think it is definitely worth highlighting that they didn't play the blame game and just made sure that the buyer was taken care of first and foremost they apologized to matt for the inconvenience and they offered him a 40 off discount code to be used on any purchase at stockx which was a pleasant surprise they didn't really have to do that i think most buyers who are scam just want their money back but they went above and beyond to give a voucher on top of it after matt sent back the fake graphics card to them they refunded him the full purchase price now i'm really curious if this is the first time something like this happened on the electronics and pc hardware side of things for stockx and if so how they'll change the process moving forward if at all because as you saw in the video it wasn't difficult to pull off i also only did this with a relatively inexpensive graphics card in a controlled situation imagine instead if i had done this would say like an rtx 3090 during the peak of the shortages when those are going for like two thousand dollars and i sold it to a complete random stranger i don't know what the solution is maybe an x-ray machine of some sort i don't know if that's even feasible but that's not my problem to figure out that's on stockx because they're the ones so confident in their authentication and they're charging for it but yeah that's gonna wrap it up for this video i definitely learned quite a bit about stockx while making this since it's not a marketplace that i've used before but i've had it mentioned to me by viewers multiple times since their expansion to pc hardware so that's why i wanted to check it out and of course the first thing that came to my mind was how good are they really at spotting fakes and thus this video came to be even with how all this played out and me successfully pulling this off i actually think stockx is still one of the safest marketplaces to buy from solely because they have an authentication process at all it's by no means perfect as we just saw but it's still something that other major marketplaces don't even offer but again it doesn't come for free you will be paying a little bit extra in terms of the fees for their services but yeah question for all you viewers out there how many of you have used stockx for pc parts before and if so what did you buy or sell for those that haven't ever used stockx would you consider using it in the future especially with all the fees associated with both buying and selling let me know down in the comments below i look forward to reading all your responses uh but yeah i hope you all enjoyed this video and found it either entertaining or useful in one way or another i want to thank you all as always for watching and for continuing to support the channel huge shout out to the channel members for their above and beyond support uh yeah be safe out there and i will see you all in the comments as well in the next stream and or video byeso i'm gonna have to find something else that's around the same weight and size to replace it with i'm just dropping this off it is out of my hands now we'll buying of this and see what happens alright so i'm here with my uh good friend matt from tech by matt you want to say hello hey so uh all right what i'm going to do is i'm going to list the the graphics card now so let me go do that so other people who have listed this they're asking for at least 324. so i'm gonna put uh i think 319. so as a seller they're going to take 10 transaction fee for me there's a payment processing fee which is 3 so that's about uh 10 bucks and then so my total payout for selling this card would be 277 so i'm gonna go to the next as a seller i have to put in my billing information if my item doesn't pass authentication they're gonna charge me money for wasting their time and they're gonna send it back to me okay do you know what the fee is for i think it's 15 bucks if i read correctly not awful i need a post on the screen what the exact thing is but yeah so after all the fees it's gonna knock it down to 270 you said 277 is what my take-home is going to be assuming this all works out and then i'm curious on your end what the fees is going to be though i've never used stockx so yeah i've never used stockx either so this is just gonna be a learning experience and just sharing with the viewers like what the fees are associated on those buyer and sellers so okay uh i got there i got everything ready to go wait review ask my item is brand new and in original undamaged packaging i will ship within two business days of sale to avoid penalties and i acknowledge the stockx will open and thoroughly examine contents within the package to ensure authenticity they're not opening it i'm pretty sure they don't open it but we'll see so i'm going to confirm the ask right now all right success my ass is live at 3 19 it says so now on your end you should be able to find it i'm on the page amd power color radeon rx 6600 fighter dual fan 8 gigabyte graphics card yup buy for 319. yup there it is all right that should be it next okay paypal shipping info that all looks good in terms of fees the purchase price is 319. sales tax is 24.73 okay processing fee is 14.35 oh that's not too bad i thought it would have been more than that then shipping is 19.95 the full total to 378 dollars okay so it's basically a hundred dollars over what your what the money you're making all right i'm gonna hit place order now and it's spinning it's spinning let's see come on order confirmed the sellers allowed two full business days to ship your item to stockx uh they'll verify the product when it arrives and i'll receive a tracking number as soon as the item leaves yeah i got the email for when my ask went live and then i got the email you sold your item and you power color rxe600 all right so let me see this you're you sold your item shipped by august 2nd which is fine i'll ship it out in a little bit yeah i think we are good to go so uh yeah so now all we have to do i got to do is pack this up ship it out and then we just wait and hopefully it passes through i think this is as good as i'm going to be able to pack it time to drop this off to ups hello hello just just dropping this off drop off your seat drop off and you're done thank you very much all right so it is out of my hands now we'll just have to see what happens during authentication so i sent the package out last friday that was in the morning right now it is the following wednesday so this morning at around 8 30 a.m stockx sends me an email letting me know that my package arrived at their authentication center uh then shortly after that a little like an hour afterwards around 9 30 they sent me a follow-up email saying that my money is on the way so apparently they authenticated it pretty fast so they sent me all the money to my paypal account uh i got it shortly after they sent the email about the payment and then i took that money and i transferred it to my bank and got out of that the paypal just in case they try to get it back later on down the road but i was surprised at how fast they were able to authenticate it i don't know if they don't have a big queue up right now or maybe they have a different cue for you know the people who are looking at shoes and clothing and things like that versus the people looking at the electronics i guess with electronics having to be new and a lot of it is probably sealed it's a lot easier to you know authenticate versus you know when they actually have to open up the shoes and like look at the clothes and stuff but now what we have to do is wait for them to send that to matt down in florida and uh yeah then we'll open it up but we'll see what happens i'm on a call again with matt this is after he got the package and uh he already opened it up so my original intent was for us to be on a call and matt open it live on the call so we can both get our reactions but um i didn't say that in our dm's back and forth so matt went ahead and opened it and that's the b-roll footage that you would have just seen uh in this video and he recorded how he normally would his tech video so matt thank you for doing that what what were you saying to me in the dms about the the sticker when you got the box and you opened it up all right so i have it right here what's interesting is instead of your seal right here is a stock x seal meaning they removed the original seal that you put on what they thought was the original seal and they put on one that says always verified authentic since 2016. there's also another qr code on there they opened this up but didn't even open the box apparently because when you open it up it's not like you had something over here to cover the contents or anything yeah it's just the hard drive itself like for shoes and stuff what they normally do is after they authenticate the shoes they have one of those like it's kind of like almost a keychain that says stockx authenticate and then they put it on the shoelace or something just to verify that and i think what that sticker is is that their version of that for electronic devices so once they check it they put it on there so what i'm thinking is do you think they just put that green sticker over mine like can you look underneath that sticker and see if the original transparent seal is there it's not actually no no i'm wrong there is the originals it does look like there's the original sticker on it i'll get more b-roll shots of it yeah and then we can show that on the screen it does look like the original seal was under it one of the things about stockx is people are able to trade their things and keep it basically brand new like they're an item being sold on stockx should not lose value uh because it was open so that's why i was so confident that there's no way they were gonna open it so and then you sent me the footage of you taking the pictures of everything as proof right how did you go about sending it did you do it through like an email or was it like just you had to go through like a submit form on their website where you put your name your order number and then details about it basically i just told them i ordered a graphics card when i opened it up there wasn't a graphics card in there it was a hard drive i'd like to get this resolved as soon as possible thanks and attached photos we'll see how long it takes for them even to get back to me all right sweet well matt thank you for the help um and then yeah i'll talk to you later sounds good all right so a resolution was finally reached for all this stockx asked matt to send back the fake graphics card so that they could see it in person before refunding him the money i do have to commend them though because at no point during this process did they try to put the blame on matt as the buyer or on me as the seller they actually never contacted me at all through all this and that was probably because there's no way for them to tell who the scammer is in this situation to them there's an equal chance that the seller or the buyer could be trying to scam and i think it is definitely worth highlighting that they didn't play the blame game and just made sure that the buyer was taken care of first and foremost they apologized to matt for the inconvenience and they offered him a 40 off discount code to be used on any purchase at stockx which was a pleasant surprise they didn't really have to do that i think most buyers who are scam just want their money back but they went above and beyond to give a voucher on top of it after matt sent back the fake graphics card to them they refunded him the full purchase price now i'm really curious if this is the first time something like this happened on the electronics and pc hardware side of things for stockx and if so how they'll change the process moving forward if at all because as you saw in the video it wasn't difficult to pull off i also only did this with a relatively inexpensive graphics card in a controlled situation imagine instead if i had done this would say like an rtx 3090 during the peak of the shortages when those are going for like two thousand dollars and i sold it to a complete random stranger i don't know what the solution is maybe an x-ray machine of some sort i don't know if that's even feasible but that's not my problem to figure out that's on stockx because they're the ones so confident in their authentication and they're charging for it but yeah that's gonna wrap it up for this video i definitely learned quite a bit about stockx while making this since it's not a marketplace that i've used before but i've had it mentioned to me by viewers multiple times since their expansion to pc hardware so that's why i wanted to check it out and of course the first thing that came to my mind was how good are they really at spotting fakes and thus this video came to be even with how all this played out and me successfully pulling this off i actually think stockx is still one of the safest marketplaces to buy from solely because they have an authentication process at all it's by no means perfect as we just saw but it's still something that other major marketplaces don't even offer but again it doesn't come for free you will be paying a little bit extra in terms of the fees for their services but yeah question for all you viewers out there how many of you have used stockx for pc parts before and if so what did you buy or sell for those that haven't ever used stockx would you consider using it in the future especially with all the fees associated with both buying and selling let me know down in the comments below i look forward to reading all your responses uh but yeah i hope you all enjoyed this video and found it either entertaining or useful in one way or another i want to thank you all as always for watching and for continuing to support the channel huge shout out to the channel members for their above and beyond support uh yeah be safe out there and i will see you all in the comments as well in the next stream and or video bye\n"
