The M 760li: A Luxury Limousine with a V12 Bite

When it comes to luxury cars, few are as impressive as the BMW M 760li. This car is the epitome of opulence and performance, packing a 6.6 liter v12 engine that produces silky smooth power. With its advanced technology features and luxurious interior, the M 760li is a must-have for anyone who demands the best.

One of the most striking features of the M 760li is its design. In the front, it has a distinctive boot lip spoiler that sets it apart from other BMW models. Moving down to the rear, you'll notice a deeper bumper and larger exhaust pipes, giving away the car's powerful engine. The rear also boasts v12 badges on the pillars and near the gear selector, serving as a reminder of the car's potent powerplant.

The M 760li's engine is truly its crowning glory. As we remove the plastic engine cover, you can see the beauty of the v12 engine up close. When ticked over, it produces a gentle hum that is almost soothing to listen to. However, when shifted into sports mode, the engine roar becomes more pronounced and raucous. The sound is unmistakable, with notes of 12 cylinders clearly audible.

The interior of the M 760li is equally impressive. BMW has gone all out to provide the ultimate driving experience, complete with a luxurious Alcantara headlining that adds an extra layer of sophistication to the cabin. However, there's a bit of an oddity when it comes to some of the features on the car. For instance, you'll need to pay an extra £145 for the option of upgrading to this lovely material.

Despite being part of the M series, the M 760li is not as sporty as its rivals. While it does offer adaptive cruise control and lane keeping assist, its handling is softer than some of the other BMW models on the market. However, this also means that it's more comfortable over bumps and quieter when cruising down the motorway.

In terms of performance, the M 760li is a force to be reckoned with. With its powerful v12 engine, it can accelerate from 0-60mph in under five seconds, making it a true dragster at heart. However, the M5 is also an option for those who want the same level of performance without the added luxury. The real question is: why choose between the two when you can have both?

When it comes to economy, the M 760li's v12 engine takes its toll on fuel efficiency. With an average fuel economy of around 25 miles per gallon, it's clear that this car is not for those who are concerned with saving money on petrol costs.

However, there's no denying the M 760li's ability to dominate the road. Its advanced suspension system and rear-wheel drive layout work in harmony to deliver exceptional handling and agility, making it a joy to drive on both twisty roads and long stretches of motorway. The addition of active anti-roll bars and rear wheel steering also helps to improve stability at high speeds.

One final note worth mentioning is the car's braking performance. With its powerful engine comes a need for robust brakes that can handle the stresses of repeated hard braking. Thankfully, the M 760li has no problem when it comes to bringing the car up from speed.

Ultimately, the BMW M 760li is a car that defies categorization. While it's not as sporty as some of its rivals, it's certainly more luxurious and refined. With its powerful v12 engine, advanced technology features, and comfortable ride, this car is perfect for those who demand the best from their vehicle.

"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enI'm sat in a BMW 760li and it's really very comfortable but it's really very fast as well it's powered by six point six liter v12 twin turbo with 609 horsepower and 800 Newton meters and it's got all-wheel drive and it's very quick to 60 miles an hour as I'll demonstrate now so driver launched it and that's 60 my god this is fast and that is I can see a hundred we're still going this one is actually limited to a hundred and eighty nine miles an hour we're doing hundred for a it's really quick but also surprisingly relaxing that's a hundred 6160 touch I'm balling out I Drive a slow down come on calm down calm down it stays easier I want to maybe just chill out watch some telly instead it's like taking off in business class the M 760li has some styling changes over the normal seven series to make it stand out such as more aggressive and deeper from bumpers you also have 20 inch lightweight alloy wheels and blue brake calipers there's some side skirts to make it look like it's hugging can the ground then have in the back you can hit their 7 Series with a little boot lip spoiler which is a bit unusual and then low down you've got a deeper rear bumper again and check this out you've got bigger exhaust pipes actually I say exhaust pipes they're more exhaust surrounds the pipes actually in there but it's not like I guess it's the thought that counts when also Karen's is the thing that's at the other end of those exhaust pipes the thing I love about v12 engines and that they are silky smooth I'll show you now let's remove this plastic engine cover grab myself a bottle of water place it just precariously on there on tick over you'll see this Holly ripple in the water but if I rev the engine it will flex the whole car watch this and that brings me on to the sound that 6.6 liter engine makes when you have this car in comfort mode it's relatively quiet even when you rev the engine but when you put into sports mode it opens involving the exhaust now it's a lot more raucous that's awesome if you ever smell forget just how many cylinders the car is packing there are some not so subtle reminders to help you remember you get v12 badges here on the rear pillars and on the inside there's another v12 budge here near the gear selector and you get them on the kick blades it's definitely a very 12 however this means the M 760li is also definitely rather expensive too this car costs one hundred and thirty five thousand pounds but don't worry BMW have chucked quite a lot of kids at it so as standard you get a lovely bass and Wilkins stereo with these handsome metallic speakers there's also the automated driving systems so adaptive cruise control with Lane Keeping Assist however for some reason if you want this lovely Alcantara headlining you have to pay an extra 145 pounds what is the point of a 145 pound option on a 135 thousand pound car just not worth the paperwork really thankfully a lot of the stuff you have to pay extra for on the normal 7 Series does come as standard on the M 760 like a ceramic finish to the controls upgraded leather interior and a sporty steering wheel despite all this though you may be wondering why you'd want the M 760 over the cheaper m5 after all that car is luxurious enough is super quick and of course it's a proper full-blooded M car well sort of speed freaks will just prefer the seven sixties less focused driving experience this does feel like a softer car does with the bumps a little bit better a bit more cushioning for the air suspension and quieter as well when you hit the bumps it doesn't feel quite so overly sporty in terms of the economy well I'm guessing around 25 miles per gallon performance is strong all of a sudden the average economy is dropped by five miles per gallon let's see what happens it again oh look you can just destroy other cars no dropped by another day miles per gallon then let's not do that anymore want to get to my destination without having to fill up again the M 760 is great for cruising on the motorway and despite its huge size and 2.2 tonne weight it's not a complete disaster on a twisty road either it's all-wheel drive system has been tweaked to be more rear drive biased or so there's active anti-roll bars to stop the car leaning too much in the corners or the rear wheel steering aids low speed agility and high speed stability oh and of course you can choose from a range of different driver settings depending on your mood or the row you're on so I'm gonna put into sports mode to stiffen up the suspension makes the engine sound louder and the gearbox more responsive I tell you war it's a little bit greasy area so I'm thankful that I've got four-wheel drive traction what I'm not so thankful for is that heavy 6.6 liter v12 up front weighs quite a lot so it does feel like a bit of a brute to manhandle round here the brakes had definitely hit a bit of a workout however despite the M in the name the M 760 isn't a hooligan car it's more sophisticated or civilised so just accept it for what it is a quiet and luxurious limousine that can double as a drag racer do you know what I found another v12 bite
