Android 101 - How To Scan _ Use a QR Code

The Unlocker.net Guide to QR Codes: A Hands-On Exploration

Hey guys, it's David from the unlocker.net and today we're going to explore one of the most popular search terms out there - quick mark. Now, I know what you're thinking - what is quick mark? Well, let me tell you, it's a pretty popular keyword that will give you a ton of results if you type in QR code. So, we're just going to click on this one and install it, and wait for that to install.

Once you've downloaded the app, we're going to scroll to it, open our apps, and find it. Clicking on it should now open up our QR scanning app. Now, let's hit scan barcodes - this is going to give us a little box that we can use to scan barcodes with. You don't have to push a shutter button or a camera button; you simply just put the barcode within that and then it'll do its thing.

So, if you take your device and put the QR code within that box, it will automatically grab it, um, and then display whether it's contact information or whatever it may be. This is a website, so if you click on this little button down here at the bottom, it's going to take me to that website.

Now, besides this cool feature of scanning barcodes, another neat little feature of this app in particular - I'm sure some of the other ones have these kinds of features too, um - is the ability to share bookmarks. You can click on any of these, and then you choose what you want to share. It'll generate a little QR code for you, and whoever you want to share it with would then take their QR scanning application, turn it on, Hover it over your device, and scan that image right off of your phone.

They would automatically have that application that whatever it may be, so that's pretty cool. The other cool thing too is that you can also do something like tap my profile - it'll generate a code for your information, and they can scan that and it'll add them or add you into their address book automatically. It's a neat way of exchanging business cards without actually exchanging business cards.

So, there you have it for QR codes. Hope you enjoyed this little tutorial.
