**WWDC 2020: A Rumored Roundup**
As we approach the highly anticipated WWDC 2020 event, rumors have been swirling about what Apple might unveil at this year's conference. While nothing has been officially confirmed, here are some of the most exciting possibilities that are expected to make an appearance.
**New AirPods with Swappable Ear Pads and Headband**
One accessory that's likely to be announced is a new version of the AirPods, which will feature magnetic ear pads and a top-of-the-ear design. This innovative design change allows users to easily swap out the ear pads and headband, making these extremely versatile headphones. Imagine being able to switch between sweat-resistant ear pads for exercising or casual leather ear pads for everyday use. The new AirPods could also include a swappable headband, allowing users to upgrade their look depending on their activity level.
**Apple Tag: A New Item Tracker**
Another accessory that's rumored to be announced is the Apple Tag, a small item tracker similar to Tile. These tiny tags will enable users to track their belongings, such as keys, backpacks, or wallets, using the Find My application on their iPhone and Mac. The Apple Tag is expected to require iOS 14, so it won't arrive until after the release of this new operating system.
**New Apple TV with A12 Chip and HDMI 2.1**
A new Apple TV is also expected to be announced at WWDC 2020, boasting a more powerful A12 chip and improved storage options (64GB and 128GB). The new remote will also feature enhanced functionality, making it a worthy upgrade for existing Apple TV owners. While the exact details are still under wraps, this new device promises significant improvements over its predecessors.
**HomePod: Mini or Standard Version?**
Rumors suggest that Apple might announce a smaller version of the HomePod, dubbed "HomePod mini" or possibly just "HomePod." This compact design change is expected to come at a lower price point than the original HomePod, which currently retails for $300.
**AR and VR: The Future of Apple's Technology**
Apple has been quietly working on its augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR) capabilities, and WWDC 2020 may be the perfect opportunity to showcase these advancements. Mark Gurmann recently reported that Apple is not just focusing on AR but also exploring VR, which could lead to the announcement of a revolutionary new headset.
**Services Bundle: A Cheaper Alternative?**
Apple has been expanding its services offerings in recent years, and WWDC 2020 might see a bundle of popular services combined into one affordable package. This could include Apple News+, Apple Arcade, Apple Music, and more, all at a lower cost than subscribing to each service individually.
**Software Updates: Watch OS 7 and Mac OS 10.16**
While there have been few leaks about the software updates expected for WWDC 2020, it's likely that we'll see major stability improvements and bug fixes with Watch OS 7 and Mac OS 10.16. These operating system updates are usually focused on refining performance and user experience rather than introducing new features.
**Live Streaming and Q&A**
For those who can't attend the WWDC 2020 event in person, there will be live streaming options available, including YouTube and Twitter. The author of this article plans to go live here on YouTube, where he'll react with his audience and answer questions in real-time. "WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enwhat's up guys my name is Brandon and Apple's Worldwide Developers Conference it's going to be taking place tomorrow and before we see what Apple has in store for us I wanted to give you guys a final rumor roundup and talk about what we can expect and what we cannot expect to see at this first ever virtual conference so first off yes WWDC 20 is a virtual event this year and you're gonna be able to watch it live even if you are not a paid developer you can even watch it here on YouTube so I will have links down in the description below for that or if you want to watch it live with me and hundreds maybe thousands of others come back to my channel tomorrow for a livestream that I will be starting around 11 to 11:30 Eastern Standard Time we're gonna be live reacting to everything to Apple announced we're gonna be doing giveaways I'll answer your questions and we're just gonna have a good time together in the livestream so if you are interested in that of course stay tuned tomorrow for that make sure to click that bell on the channel as well so you can notified when I go live now as far as what to expect at the event I have a ton of hardware leaks and rumors that I wanted to share with you guys but now it looks like we may not be seeing any hardware announced at this event whatsoever so this was pretty shocking news this morning and this came from John Prosser over on Twitter who said this looking like any possible hardware has been scrapped for WWDC tomorrow might be wrong about this one would love to be wrong I'll be surprised with all of you either way and then Mac swine Beck said a very similar thing he said I have two sources telling me no hardware for WWDC tomorrow they aren't on WWDC related teams but heard it through the Apple grapevine I take this with a grain of salt but thought it was worth mentioning so that is super disappointing to hear but it's not like Apple hasn't done this before so what I take from this is that Apple might just be doing the good old press release announcements for the new iMac the air tags the iPads the home pod mini the Apple TV and all the other products that we were hoping to see announced at this conference so we're probably going to see those press releases when the products are actually closer to being released because most of the things that were going to be announced today or tomorrow anyways at the conference we're going to be released later on in the year and also keep in mind that this is a software-based event so this isn't super surprising but it is pretty disappointing that we may not see any hardware announced at this event now of course we are definitely going to be seeing iOS or iPhone OS 14 iPad OS 14 watch OS 7 Mac OS 10 point 16 and all the other software update announcements but now it seems that we should temper our expectations for any hardware that's been rumored to be announced so the products like I said are still likely to be released later this year they just might be announced at a later time and not at this specific event but I still do want to briefly go over the hardware that we should be seeing later this year but let's first discuss an announcement that we will definitely be seeing tomorrow at the Worldwide Developers Conference and that is the switch to ARM chips in the Mac so Bloomberg and multiple other sources have indicated that Apple will unveil its custom chips at WWDC this year but a MacBook or an iMac with the chip inside is not expected until at least q4 of this year so that's the earliest we could see it either q4 of 2020 or the beginning of 2021 so Apple is just gonna be announcing the transition to give developers a heads up and a head start as for what's to come so they can prepare their applications and this is going to be a major move for Apple since they've been using the Intel chips since 2006 so this means that we're gonna see a higher profit margin for Apple but also better performance and better battery life for the MacBook and the iMac now just today Ming Chico reported that an all new design iMac is launching imminently and it will be Apple's last new Mac with an Intel CPU inside of it and he says that starting in q4 of 2020 or q1 of 2021 Apple will begin its transition to arm with the release of the 13.3 inch MacBook Pro so if you're looking to buy a MacBook Pro right now I would definitely wait until q1 of 2021 where you will see a much more powerful MacBook Pro now as for the redesigned iMac which I'll be discussing here in a moment it's also going to be switching to arm at a similar time as the 13.3 inch MacBook Pro he expects the Mac models to offer performance improvements of up to 100% over the Intel chip so he says anywhere from 50 to 100% improvements over the Intel chips which is just crazy we're gonna see much more power max now with these new chips inside and speaking of that all new redesigned iMac this thing is rumored to be a beauty so for many years the iMac has had these huge bezels that really just make it look outdated so luckily it's gotten thinner over the years but still the big bezels the big black bezels on the front are just terrible I'm looking at mine right now and I really wish they were not there but that could change this year as we're expected to see a new 2020 iMac refresh that's going to eliminate most of that bezel and more so resemble the prestigious pro display XDR from Apple so talks of a new iMac were first reported by China Times back in April they said that a new 23 inch iMac will be announced in the second half of 2020 with mass production set to begin in the third or fourth quarter of 2020 so then on June 9th sunny Dixon tweeted out new iMac and coming at WWDC iPad pro design language with Pro display like bezels t2 chip AMD knobby GPU and no more fusion drive and then just a few days later on June 12 digit x also reported that a new iMac was coming in the second half of 2020 but they did not say that it was going to be announced at the Worldwide Developers Conference so yeah we have multiple sources saying that a new iMac is for sure coming in 2020 but we still are not sure if the 23 inch iMac that was first reported on is the same one that is supposedly set to be announced at the Worldwide Developers Conference so we could see two different iMac models but I don't think that's going to happen I think we'll just see one new iMac model here in 2020 before the transition to the ARM based iMac in 2021 so once again we may not actually see this announced at the WWDC conference but we could see this later on this year the press release or maybe a small event the Apple will host sometime later this year but regardless with no more big bezels a base SSD drive the t2 chip and the knobby GPU this new iMac should be an instant hit I think a lot of people will instantly be getting this just because of the design itself I will also be getting one but I'm not going to get the max out model until the ARM based iMac gets released in 2021 and I'll probably do a comparison between the two here on my channel and in addition to the new iMac we might also see the long rumored over ear headphones from Apple get announced and they're reportedly going to be called ear pods studio so mark Berman over at Bloomberg first reported on this back and April and he said that was working on at least two variations of its over ear headphones a premium version with leather like fabrics and a fitness focused model that uses lighter breathable materials with small preparations as for the design that gurmann says prototypes of the headphones have a retro look with oval-shaped ear cups that swivel and a headband connected by thin metal arms the arms stem from the top of the ear cups rather than the sides so it looks like we might have the ability to swap out the magnetic ear pads and the headband over top which will make these extremely versatile and almost like an Apple watch swapping out the bands depending on the situation like exercising you know where you maybe want something that's sweat resistant or just chilling where you're like listening to music on an airplane when you want something more casual it may be like leather or something like that I don't know it's just gonna be cool that you're gonna be able to swap out the top headband as well as the ear pads themselves so I can't wait to see this again we may not see this announced at this event but it is expected to be released sometime this year now another accessory we could see announced is the air tags and this is the item tracker similar to tile we've seen this rumored for a long time now so these small tags are going to allow you to track your belongings like your keys your backpack your wallet really anything of value that you see possibly getting lost in the future and you'll be able to track those and be find my application on your iPhone and on your Mac so these are likely going to require iOS 14 so I would not expect those to be released any time until iOS 14 gets released now a new Apple TV was also expected to be announced tomorrow that's going to be more powerful and also come with a new remote so the new Apple TV is reportedly going to be powered by the a12 chip and have 64 and 128 gigabyte storage options in addition to HDMI 2.1 with auto low latency mode so those are all pretty big improvements if you have an Apple TV now so definitely seems like a worthy upgrade but once again we may not see this at this conference but it should be released sometime this year a new home pod is also possible to be announced and it's either going to be called the home pod mini or the home pod - so the new home pod is reportedly half the size of the current model which should indicate a much more affordable price point than the 300 the $350 that we saw with the first-generation home pod now AR and VR will also likely be Gus at WWDC and mark gurmann just recently reported on how Apple might not be looking just into AR but also into VR virtual reality so we might see the announcement of a VR headset similar to the oculus quest but of course it's going to be made by Apple so it will likely be a lot better in terms of the technology inside and the UI and everything like that but we could possibly see that which will be very very interesting now we should also be seeing some sort of services bundle from Apple tomorrow so something that will include like Apple News Plus Apple arcade you know maybe Apple music just a lot of different services that apple offers combined into one bundle for a cheaper price overall monthly now as far as watch OS 7 and Mac OS 10 point 16 we really haven't had a ton of leaks on these software versions but they are likely going to follow suit with iOS 14 or iPhone OS 14 and be mainly stability updates more so than feature-packed updates so of course you're still going to see a lot of new features and changes but the main focus from Apple is probably going to be on stability and the overall performance of those software versions so yeah guys that's a brief rundown of what we can possibly expect to see announced at tomorrow's WWDC virtual event but once again take the product announcements with a grain of salt as it appears that there's a chance that no hardware will be announced at this event whatsoever but even if everything that I mentioned in this video is announced tomorrow what are you most excited for let me know down in a comment below and of course if you guys want to watch WWDC 2020 live I will have that linked down in the description below but also keep in mind that I will be going live here on YouTube and a lot of times it's more fun to you know just react with me and all the others in the chat as well so be sure to stay tuned for the live stream tomorrow I will be you know posting it on Twitter and everything like that and of course you guys will get the notification if you have that bail clicked when I do go live here on YouTube so definitely stop by I would appreciate it and I would love to talk to you guys and answer some questions and things like that but anyways I hope you guys enjoyed this last minute rumor roundup for WWDC 2020 if you did I would appreciate it if you give this video a thumbs up of course make sure you subscribe so you don't miss a lot of future videos of course I'm gonna be covering all the new software that gets announced tomorrow but anyways guys thanks again for watching and I'll see you soonwhat's up guys my name is Brandon and Apple's Worldwide Developers Conference it's going to be taking place tomorrow and before we see what Apple has in store for us I wanted to give you guys a final rumor
