How to Update Your Power Settings for Windows 10
I'm Adam Reus box and in this video I'm going to show you how to update your power settings for Windows 10. Windows 10 may or may not have reset your power settings, and unless you're on a laptop you probably don't want what it gave you. So go ahead and click the start button and go to settings and then go over here to system.
For whatever reason which I'm kind of disappointed in cuz Windows 8 had a similar search issue if I search for p power there's no results which doesn't make a whole lot of sense at all. But if we go to system and then go over here to power and sleep you can tell your computer whether or not it's going to ever turn off when it's plugged in. This has turned the screen off, I'm going to tell the screen to turn off after an hour if I'm inactive. Put the computer to sleep I'm going to tell mine to be never if you want your computer to go to sleep after a certain amount of time you can tell it to do so.
Then click additional power settings and this is where you get the old school control panel power settings. You can choose your power plan now, it may have likely reset you down to power saver. And if you're on a laptop that's fine, but if you're on a desktop you're going to want to be on high performance. I have my own custom power setup which is basically what I just changed. But that actually imported over from Windows 8 for me however for whatever reason a lot of people are getting their power settings reset.
So you're going to want to go ahead and make sure, and then if you really want to make sure that your settings are right click change Advanced power settings and go over here to processor power management minimum processor state. If you're on a desktop make sure this is at 100%. And then and for maximum make sure that's 100% too. On a laptop again it's going to change that based on your power settings and your battery but for a desktop you're going to want that at 100%.
This was another quick Windows 10 tip just to make sure you update your power settings thank you so much for watching and thank you very much to GG Maniac for pointing out that his got reset and I've heard of a couple other people now getting reset.
