**Exploring the Renault e-5 Electric Vehicle**
As I got behind the wheel of the Renault e-5, I couldn't help but feel excited about this electric vehicle (EV). The first thing that struck me was the twisty roads that lay ahead. "There's got to be some lovely twisty roads in a minute where we can stick it into sport mode and stretch its legs a little bit okay off the dual carriageway," I said to myself. And, indeed, as soon as we hit the first set of winding roads, I popped the transmission into sport mode. The difference was immediate - the e-5's acceleration became noticeably more pronounced, and it felt like this car had come alive.
I have to admit, when driving in normal mode, I found the e-5 a bit sluggish. As a driver, I've always been drawn to performance-oriented vehicles that can deliver rapid acceleration out of the box. However, as soon as I switched into sport mode, all those doubts disappeared. The e-5's performance was more than satisfactory - it wasn't a hot hatch by any means, but it delivered a perfect balance of power and efficiency. In fact, I was pleasantly surprised by how well it handled on the twisty roads, its handling and dynamics making it a joy to drive.
One aspect that really impressed me about the e-5 is its efficiency. According to the manufacturer, this car can comfortably deliver over 4 miles per kilowatt hour (kWh), which is impressive considering its size and weight. In my test drive, I averaged around 3.2 kWh per mile, which was more than sufficient for a day of light driving. If you drive the e-5 in eco mode, gently coaxing it along with minimal throttle input, you might even find yourself hitting mid-range numbers - a true testament to its efficiency.
Now, let's talk about design and features. I have to say that I'm thoroughly impressed by the Renault e-5's design both inside and out. The exterior is sleek and modern, with a clean design that exudes premium quality. Inside, the interior spec is equally impressive, with high-quality materials and a comfortable cabin that feels like a proper luxury vehicle. One feature that caught my attention was the range of drivetrain options available for this car - customers can choose from battery-electric, hybrid, or plug-in hybrid variants, giving them plenty of choices to suit their needs.
As I reflect on my experience with the Renault e-5, one thing stands out: it's a beautifully designed car that offers an excellent balance of power, efficiency, and practicality. It may not be a performance-oriented vehicle per se, but it's clear that Renault has done its homework in creating a car that can appeal to a wide range of buyers. If you're considering your next car purchase and are drawn to the electric vehicle market, I'd definitely recommend giving the e-5 some serious consideration.
**The Verdict**
The Renault e-5 is an excellent choice for anyone looking for a practical yet engaging electric vehicle. Its efficiency and range make it a solid option for daily driving, while its performance and handling will keep you entertained on longer drives. With its attractive design and versatility, this car checks all the right boxes - and then some.

"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enhey guys and welcome to petrol ped and welcome to the allnew perso E 58 a big 7 seat SUV that sits in their all electrified range although there is a mild hybrid and plug-in hybrid variant as well I'm going to be very interested to find out just what this new big pjo is like to drive and how luxurious and comfortable it is on the inside now I was actually at this venue about 6 months ago for the first drives of the mini Countryman JCW this place is called Lakes by you and it's uh an amazing facility there's loads of lakes obviously but then some beautiful houses and apartments and some really high property all with beautiful views over the lakes and you drive around the estate effectively and the amount of lovely cars you see either parked up outside one of these beautiful homes or under a cover and I have to say straight off the bat that this e58 sits very well in the company of cars that I've seen my first impressions of this car and it is the first time I've seen it today it's a handsome looking car and I think I've said it before I really like what Persia were doing with some of their car design even though I wasn't a massive fan of the most recent Persia I've had which was the 308 station wagon I kind of didn't feel like that design sat very well together at all it also almost looked like the the front end and the rear end of the car have been designed by different people well I can't say that for this car now I appreciate it big SUVs might not be your bag but if you're in the market for a really practical your family car if you need five or even seven seats if you need lots of luggage capacity and you want to go down the full battery electric route or even down the hybrid or mild hybrid route then this could be a car to spark your interest so let's start to take a look around some of the design elements in the car there's some really nice things going on on the inside and then obviously we need to take it for a drive let's start at the front I must say the new perso Shield is growing on me I really didn't like it when it first came out but I think when it sits in the grill of a car it just does have a a good look um so front end wise I'm really liking the the front styling of this well I'm going to call it a radiator Grill it's not it's there's there's no gaps in there at all there's some air vents that open up when needed for cooling and sensors for adaptive cruise control and all the other systems that you've got on the car but I think front end styling wise persio have got a really good game going on at the moment I think from 508 that first time I saw that car I just really like the way the headlights sit the way you've got this kind of little lip here with the the the moniker of whatever the car is just sat there and then here you've got some nice daytime running light elements down here really Sleek headlight design so although it's a big 7c SUV the front profile of the K is relatively low to the ground and relatively sleek and that Arrow styling kind of follows all the way down the side of the car as well let's move down the side of the car a little bit there is a little bit of fake ventage going on on the front there's these little elements just here from a distance it looks like a bit of vent a bit of Arrow it's not it's just a blanking panel but I don't think it looks too bad from the front and then the wing profile I quite like I like this little shield on the wing but I want to have a chat about wheels and tires now they're a 20in wheel and then they' got these uh aerob blades on them and I'm not a big fan of aerob blades but I completely understand why they're there it's all about aerodynamic efficiency and one of the things that this car has is class leading range now I'll talk more about specs and different options later on in the video but if you opt for the 230 horsepower 98 KW power battery pack variant this car has a class leading range of 415 Mi wltp which is considerably further than any of its competitors and a lot of that will be helped by aerodynamic efficiencies that's where this wheel comes in but also I'm glad to see that it's shod with a set of michelan e Primacy tires that will help with rolling resistance and also help with that class leading efficiency they're a 20-in wheel a 235 section Tire the same all around so a symmetric setup but yeah um I understand why we've got aerob blades I've just never been a big fan so moving to the rear of the car I just love the way this car finishes I like the kind of two-tone black roof body color and then this little lighter gunmetal gray element around here and then you come around to the lights the lighting elements are lovely you've got the the kind of designator just here I think the rear of the car looks great great if we open up the boot one of the things I would say is so the boot opener is just under here and I'm going to struggle to get it on camera it's an automatic tailgate but the you can feel the thinness of the Bodywork there and I just it just doesn't feel premium for some reason but once it's open the car currently has the three rows of seats set up um and if you have that I mean at the moment it doesn't look like you got a huge amount of body of boot space here there is however a false floor and what's really nice is you can hide the parcel shelf in there there's a a sunken floor where you can put your charge cables there's plenty of room in there 348 L of space when you've got this third row of seats up if you drop the third row of seats it's 9116 L of space now that is a lot so I think the next thing we need to do is uh see how much space there is for a tall lanky person like me okay now it's notoriously difficult to film getting in the third row of uh 7 seat SUV but um all you need to do basically is pull this seat forward and it falls all the way forward and there's a really wide door here so there's plenty of access room to get in and then you got your two little seats at the back and then you drop this seat back down again and I've actually got plenty of space if if I pull the other set of seats down as well just to give you an idea I have now got a relatively good amount of space in here I mean you know certainly for two children but I'm a 6'3 adult and don't get me wrong I wouldn't want to be in here for hours and hours but that said it's still a really good amount of space I'm not too bad at all so what's it like in the middle rower seat if you got someone like me S in the back so you got lanky greesy sat in the back well I guess the first answer to that question is a fit I could get in here but I guess you can't you it's not a tardis you can't magic space out of anywhere but these middle seats do move back so I could move this whole row of seats if I just get back there and now I've got plenty of leg room now for sure that's compromise the space in the back the other thing you might want to do is just raise that headrest so that you've got space for your shoulders um but it's really lovely in here there's also three Zone climate control so we've got climate control for all seven occupants and then the back of these seats one of the things in the briefing they really wanted a kind of Lounge feel to the inside of this car and I had have to say interior wise this car is right up there these seats look great but they are so comfortable that's the middle bench seat I'm saying is so comfortable let's wait till we sit in the front seats they just got a really nice I love the stitching I love that kind of um Romus shape on there as I said you just pull those up a little bit and you'd have your might not do that one cuz that tends to knock out your central mirror but yeah very nice and then this cloth effect here you've got little blinds that you can pull up if you want to have a bit more privacy I've got my climate control functions just there it's nice in here really really nice well if you think the seats in the back are comfy the ones in the front are really lovely very supportive but they've just got a really nice soft luxurious feel to them you you instantly feel like you're setting somewhere very very special so where do I begin well let's begin with a thing I'm not a massive fan of and I've made no secret of the fact I just don't like the small steering wheel that persio have in their cars these days I understand it's a really interesting point of difference they're the only manufacturer doing it um if we start the car up you basically have to look over the top of the steering wheel to get to the the screen now that is a 21 in panoramic display and I think it's it's really nicely laid out I haven't driven the car a great deal yet so let's wait till we get out on the road until I give you my full feelings for it and actually of all the other peros I can at least sit here and and see all of that screen you got a slightly higher seating position I'm looking over the top and and the the smaller steering wheel does kind of give it a slightly different feel in the hand when you're driving I'm just not fan anyway let's put that to one side cuz I know plenty people who absolutely love it there's some really cool stuff going on in here and I think you know P's interior game at the moment is up there with with anybody the the choice of materials you got this kind of gray cloth material here and then this this there's a light accent that goes around the whole front of the dash which looks really cool the way that the dash is sculpted underneath this display it's not just an iPad stuck on the dash it's a a sculpted thing that sits within the the view of the driver you've got this display here with the normal stellantis gear change uh mechanism just there but I actually think of all the stellantis cars I've seen with that that's the one that looks the nicest and then there's a little touch pad here uh that changes it's it's a lot of piano black gloss but it's got a nice haptic feel to it but then when you come down here there's a wireless charge map for your phone just here you got some other controls and buttons here drive mode stereo controls that are real buttons so you're not forced to go into the touch screen all the time and then there's a little bin down here but it's got a really nice lid to it so if you don't want it there if you want to clean things up you can otherwise you just push that and it just opens up nice smooth open you got a couple of USB ports there you've got a 12volt port in there you got a little opener just here with a tray for your key and for some other bits and Bobs you might want to carry in there I love that got a couple of drinks holders it's just a very nicely wellth thought out place and you kind of sit here and everything's very much focused around me as a driver so in terms of of places to sit in terms of long Journeys and comfort and making you feel special absolutely Nails it this car um the one thing that's missing on the spec of this car when we were looking at the different options and so on you can update panoramic roof and you know me I love my pan roofs in here is very dark because it doesn't have one so I think if you want to open the interior just lighten the cabin up I think a pan roof is an absolute must on the spec list to tick but I think we go out for a drive now I've mentioned there's going to be a 230 horsepower 98 KW hour battery long range version of the 58 that's not what I'm driving cuz those actually AR starting deliveries till next year this car has a 210 horsepower and 73 kilowatt hour battery pack now that means the range is a little bit less uh wltp is quoted 310 now interestingly showing 100% battery uh I am showing a range of 310 mil um so unfortunately the same thing with all of these press drives I'm not going to be able to get to test that range today at all really but the long range version that's really interesting to go plus 400 mil uh that's a big number and then next year there'll also be a dual motor more powerful version so you'll get more performance but clearly the downside of that is you get less range you'll have a similar range to this actually so let's just have a chat about the different variant of 58 because there's M hybrid plug-in hybrid and all electric and also how much it's going to cost the 58 range starts with the hybrid 136 it has a 1.2 L petrol Engine with self-charging hybrid system prices start from 37360 for the Allure trim level and £ 4,860 for the GT the plug-in hybrid 195 has a 1.6 L petrol engine with a 21 K battery it will do 48 Mi EV only running with the Allure from 43550 and GT from £ 47,1 15 the electric 210 being tested costs from £ 48550 for Allure and £523 for the GT the long range and dual motor variants will be available in 2025 now I know to many people those numbers are still quite Punchy but in the crazy world of new car prices that we live in I actually think those price points are very competitive especially if you are comparing this car to some of its Rivals compare it to the base price of an E9 or go and have a look at some of the offerings from Volvo and see how you get on with the price so we're going to start the drive in eco mode um and noticed the when you go into Ecco mode it says performance and thermal Comfort reduced so basically it's going to back the power down it's going to turn the climate control down a little bit just to give you an e out as much range as possible I've also noticed that I've been mooching quite a bit so far on this drive my range has actually gone up to 327 Mi with 20% of battery left so I'm guessing if you really want to do some hypermiling and and want to eek out your range Eco Mode's for you right I've never been a big fan of it I don't generally drive cars in eco mode um I just find the throttle is so dead sometimes it's a it's just not a great and enjoyable Driving Experience I've also got three levels of regenerative braking adjustable by some little paddles on the back of the steering wheel I've got it in the most aggressive mode at the moment which is it's pretty strong it's not the strongest one pedal driving I've ever been in but it's certainly strong enough when you're just driving gently down a road like this when you get get to a corner you just need to release the throttle a little bit and your uh regenerative braking is just going to the car you don't really need to use the brakes so much and you can just balance the car on the throttle uh ride comfort so far very very good it's a little bit floaty but I guess that's not a bad thing it's certainly not crashy and harsh that's for sure but so far eco mode quite like that I think what we'll now do is we'll step up into sport mode but before that there's one in between and that's normal now as we leave that beautiful cotw Village it really is very lovely around here I mentioned these um haptic buttons here uh Persia call them eye toggles and I actually I'm starting to like them a lot you can swipe them they're nice and big they're easy to reach and they've got a nice feel to them but if you leave uh an air and want to push on a little bit you may want to turn the speed B off and it's one of these things I'm getting cars now trying to find the Quick Cuts and short ways to do things here it's actually not too painful you go into the eye toggles there's an ey toggle called Adas you click on that and then it pulls up a screen and you can turn off Lane departure assistance and the speed warning if that's what you want to do unfortunately like all cars due to legislation you have to do that every time you get in the car but it's not so much of a problem the only other thing to know is is I'm using Google Maps to navigate rather than the native satnav the main reason I'm doing that is the little press route they've given me was on a Google Maps QR code and that's how we're doing the navigation so I'm not going to get to test the Persia navigation today but now let's take a step up in my little drive mode selector I'm going to go up to normal mode so now we are in normal mode let's just see if there's a noticeable difference in feel um there not normally a massive amount but I'm expecting it to be a bit more spritely now that's foot flat to the floor it's only got 210 horsepower that is less than my mini and it's a big heavy 7 seat SUV that said the performance isn't disappointing it's probably ample for 90% of the people who are going to buy one of these if you want the sporty one you're going to either you're going to have to wait till next year I think you can put in orders now but they're not deliveries don't start until early 2025 but throttle response isn't too bad I'm still in the most aggressive regenerative braking steering feel is quite nice and that suspension is really nice and soft and Lush and comfortable it's soaking up the inconsistencies in the road brilliantly and then when you come back down into a 30 I always like the fact when you're in an EV you come through little Villages like this and you're so quiet and you're not disturbing anybody very nice but we're in the cotw there's got to be some lovely twisty roads in a minute where we can stick it into sport mode and stretch its legs a little bit okay off the Dual carriageway let's pop it up into sport mode straight away I feel a little bit more oomph and that is that is significantly more ump than you get in normal mode in fact I was a little bit disheartened in normal mode I'm thinking a this car is a bit sluggish and not quite doesn't quite have enough power for its size and its weight but as soon as you go into sport mode happy to report that is not the case it's not a kind of model y performance speed but then I've always looked at those and thought you know how many times you need to do that you really don't need cars that are that fast what what this car delivers is let's just give it down this little bit of twisty nice Road manners nice mid-range acceleration but balanced with efficiency and range and I think that that's just so important I wonder whether we can get any kind of efficiency displays hi it's got enough go this for a car of its size it's actually got quite an impressive turn of speed to be fair and it does have a really nice feeling on the road now um one of the things that's going to happen very quickly is if you start driving it quite hard is your range is going to obviously have a bit of an issue so far on my test drive bearing in mind I'm I'm kind of driving it reasonably enthusiastically averaging just over 3 or 3.2 m per Kow hour and in the Press briefing it said this car will comfortably do in excess of 4 m per Kow hour which is which is where it gets it its range from it's a very efficient drivetrain really efficient aerodynamics and I think that's impressive and I always find it interesting in the comments of Ev videos from people who own EVS at the kind of numbers that they are able to get from some of the cars that I've reviewed where I've struggled to get in excess of 2 and 1/ half to 3 m per K hour and they're getting something like five I'm sure if you drove this in eco mode if you were gentle with the throttle and just drove it as a normal everyday car didn't do too many kind of dual carriageway miles you know mid four to five is probably something that you can hit I haven't got the the opportunity today in such a short amount of time with the car to really put that to the test so what are my final thoughts on the E500 8 well first up I'm really impressed it's a very nicely designed car externally and internally the interior spec and the trim and the choice of materials is really very nice it feels very premium in here and it's it's nice to see a car that has a range of drivetrain options so you don't have to go full battery electric with this one you can have a hybrid if you want to you can have a plug-in hybrid it is worth noting by the way that if you go battery electric there is no front boot uh underneath the Bonnet is just uh Motors and and all that kind of stuff the other thing though is if you look at the the the breadth of scope within Paso's car range and Van range at the moment they've got a lot of choice from small medium all the way up to this 7c SUV in lots of different drivetrains and and you know if I compare that with someone like Ford who I've given a hard time to recently and look at the the Dismal line up the currently have on their Four Courts you can kind of understand why persio if you look at the numbers of cars they're selling and the growth it it all looks very positive for them at the moment and I have to say that you know you may well be sat there and and and have not kind of given perso any thought as your next potential car um I like what they're doing at the moment there are a few things I'm not not keen on but they can't they can't have everything right anyway put in the comments below what do you think of the 58 do you like the style in do you like the um the the versatility of a 7 seat car or is it just another big electric SUV that does your heading anyway please put in the comments I would love to know your feedback but for now I'm going to head on back to Lakes by you and grab some food cuz I'm absolutely starving but I hope you enjoyed that if you did give me a thumbs up comments below are always welcome if you haven't done already please subscribe to peted for plenty more content to come and I'll see you on the next film you take care guys guys drive safehey guys and welcome to petrol ped and welcome to the allnew perso E 58 a big 7 seat SUV that sits in their all sit here and and see all of that screen you got a slightly higher seating position I'm looking over the top and and the the smaller steering wheel does kind of give it a slightly different feel in the hand when you're driving I'm just not fan anyway let's put that to one side cuz I know plenty people who absolutely love it there's some really cool stuff going on in here and I think you know P's interior game at the moment is up there with with anybody the the choice of materials you got this kind of gray cloth material here and then this this there's a light accent that goes around the whole front of the dash which looks really cool the way that the dash is sculpted underneath this display it's not just an iPad stuck on the dash it's a a sculpted thing that sits within the the view of the driver you've got this display here with the normal stellantis gear change uh mechanism just there but I actually think of all the stellantis cars I've seen with that that's the one that looks the nicest and then there's a little touch pad here uh that changes it's it's a lot of piano black gloss but it's got a nice haptic feel to it but then when you come down here there's a wireless charge map for your phone just here you got some other controls and buttons here drive mode stereo controls that are real buttons so you're not forced to go into the touch screen all the time and then there's a little bin down here but it's got a really nice lid to it so if you don't want it there if you want to clean things up you can otherwise you just push that and it just opens up nice smooth open you got a couple of USB ports there you've got a 12volt port in there you got a little opener just here with a tray for your key and for some other bits and Bobs you might want to carry in there I love that got a couple of drinks holders it's just a very nicely wellth thought out place and you kind of sit here and everything's very much focused around me as a driver so in terms of of places to sit in terms of long Journeys and comfort and making you feel special absolutely Nails it this car um the one thing that's missing on the spec of this car when we were looking at the different options and so on you can update panoramic roof and you know me I love my pan roofs in here is very dark because it doesn't have one so I think if you want to open the interior just lighten the cabin up I think a pan roof is an absolute must on the spec list to tick but I think we go out for a drive now I've mentioned there's going to be a 230 horsepower 98 KW hour battery long range version of the 58 that's not what I'm driving cuz those actually AR starting deliveries till next year this car has a 210 horsepower and 73 kilowatt hour battery pack now that means the range is a little bit less uh wltp is quoted 310 now interestingly showing 100% battery uh I am showing a range of 310 mil um so unfortunately the same thing with all of these press drives I'm not going to be able to get to test that range today at all really but the long range version that's really interesting to go plus 400 mil uh that's a big number and then next year there'll also be a dual motor more powerful version so you'll get more performance but clearly the downside of that is you get less range you'll have a similar range to this actually so let's just have a chat about the different variant of 58 because there's M hybrid plug-in hybrid and all electric and also how much it's going to cost the 58 range starts with the hybrid 136 it has a 1.2 L petrol Engine with self-charging hybrid system prices start from 37360 for the Allure trim level and £ 4,860 for the GT the plug-in hybrid 195 has a 1.6 L petrol engine with a 21 K battery it will do 48 Mi EV only running with the Allure from 43550 and GT from £ 47,1 15 the electric 210 being tested costs from £ 48550 for Allure and £523 for the GT the long range and dual motor variants will be available in 2025 now I know to many people those numbers are still quite Punchy but in the crazy world of new car prices that we live in I actually think those price points are very competitive especially if you are comparing this car to some of its Rivals compare it to the base price of an E9 or go and have a look at some of the offerings from Volvo and see how you get on with the price so we're going to start the drive in eco mode um and noticed the when you go into Ecco mode it says performance and thermal Comfort reduced so basically it's going to back the power down it's going to turn the climate control down a little bit just to give you an e out as much range as possible I've also noticed that I've been mooching quite a bit so far on this drive my range has actually gone up to 327 Mi with 20% of battery left so I'm guessing if you really want to do some hypermiling and and want to eek out your range Eco Mode's for you right I've never been a big fan of it I don't generally drive cars in eco mode um I just find the throttle is so dead sometimes it's a it's just not a great and enjoyable Driving Experience I've also got three levels of regenerative braking adjustable by some little paddles on the back of the steering wheel I've got it in the most aggressive mode at the moment which is it's pretty strong it's not the strongest one pedal driving I've ever been in but it's certainly strong enough when you're just driving gently down a road like this when you get get to a corner you just need to release the throttle a little bit and your uh regenerative braking is just going to the car you don't really need to use the brakes so much and you can just balance the car on the throttle uh ride comfort so far very very good it's a little bit floaty but I guess that's not a bad thing it's certainly not crashy and harsh that's for sure but so far eco mode quite like that I think what we'll now do is we'll step up into sport mode but before that there's one in between and that's normal now as we leave that beautiful cotw Village it really is very lovely around here I mentioned these um haptic buttons here uh Persia call them eye toggles and I actually I'm starting to like them a lot you can swipe them they're nice and big they're easy to reach and they've got a nice feel to them but if you leave uh an air and want to push on a little bit you may want to turn the speed B off and it's one of these things I'm getting cars now trying to find the Quick Cuts and short ways to do things here it's actually not too painful you go into the eye toggles there's an ey toggle called Adas you click on that and then it pulls up a screen and you can turn off Lane departure assistance and the speed warning if that's what you want to do unfortunately like all cars due to legislation you have to do that every time you get in the car but it's not so much of a problem the only other thing to know is is I'm using Google Maps to navigate rather than the native satnav the main reason I'm doing that is the little press route they've given me was on a Google Maps QR code and that's how we're doing the navigation so I'm not going to get to test the Persia navigation today but now let's take a step up in my little drive mode selector I'm going to go up to normal mode so now we are in normal mode let's just see if there's a noticeable difference in feel um there not normally a massive amount but I'm expecting it to be a bit more spritely now that's foot flat to the floor it's only got 210 horsepower that is less than my mini and it's a big heavy 7 seat SUV that said the performance isn't disappointing it's probably ample for 90% of the people who are going to buy one of these if you want the sporty one you're going to either you're going to have to wait till next year I think you can put in orders now but they're not deliveries don't start until early 2025 but throttle response isn't too bad I'm still in the most aggressive regenerative braking steering feel is quite nice and that suspension is really nice and soft and Lush and comfortable it's soaking up the inconsistencies in the road brilliantly and then when you come back down into a 30 I always like the fact when you're in an EV you come through little Villages like this and you're so quiet and you're not disturbing anybody very nice but we're in the cotw there's got to be some lovely twisty roads in a minute where we can stick it into sport mode and stretch its legs a little bit okay off the Dual carriageway let's pop it up into sport mode straight away I feel a little bit more oomph and that is that is significantly more ump than you get in normal mode in fact I was a little bit disheartened in normal mode I'm thinking a this car is a bit sluggish and not quite doesn't quite have enough power for its size and its weight but as soon as you go into sport mode happy to report that is not the case it's not a kind of model y performance speed but then I've always looked at those and thought you know how many times you need to do that you really don't need cars that are that fast what what this car delivers is let's just give it down this little bit of twisty nice Road manners nice mid-range acceleration but balanced with efficiency and range and I think that that's just so important I wonder whether we can get any kind of efficiency displays hi it's got enough go this for a car of its size it's actually got quite an impressive turn of speed to be fair and it does have a really nice feeling on the road now um one of the things that's going to happen very quickly is if you start driving it quite hard is your range is going to obviously have a bit of an issue so far on my test drive bearing in mind I'm I'm kind of driving it reasonably enthusiastically averaging just over 3 or 3.2 m per Kow hour and in the Press briefing it said this car will comfortably do in excess of 4 m per Kow hour which is which is where it gets it its range from it's a very efficient drivetrain really efficient aerodynamics and I think that's impressive and I always find it interesting in the comments of Ev videos from people who own EVS at the kind of numbers that they are able to get from some of the cars that I've reviewed where I've struggled to get in excess of 2 and 1/ half to 3 m per K hour and they're getting something like five I'm sure if you drove this in eco mode if you were gentle with the throttle and just drove it as a normal everyday car didn't do too many kind of dual carriageway miles you know mid four to five is probably something that you can hit I haven't got the the opportunity today in such a short amount of time with the car to really put that to the test so what are my final thoughts on the E500 8 well first up I'm really impressed it's a very nicely designed car externally and internally the interior spec and the trim and the choice of materials is really very nice it feels very premium in here and it's it's nice to see a car that has a range of drivetrain options so you don't have to go full battery electric with this one you can have a hybrid if you want to you can have a plug-in hybrid it is worth noting by the way that if you go battery electric there is no front boot uh underneath the Bonnet is just uh Motors and and all that kind of stuff the other thing though is if you look at the the the breadth of scope within Paso's car range and Van range at the moment they've got a lot of choice from small medium all the way up to this 7c SUV in lots of different drivetrains and and you know if I compare that with someone like Ford who I've given a hard time to recently and look at the the Dismal line up the currently have on their Four Courts you can kind of understand why persio if you look at the numbers of cars they're selling and the growth it it all looks very positive for them at the moment and I have to say that you know you may well be sat there and and and have not kind of given perso any thought as your next potential car um I like what they're doing at the moment there are a few things I'm not not keen on but they can't they can't have everything right anyway put in the comments below what do you think of the 58 do you like the style in do you like the um the the versatility of a 7 seat car or is it just another big electric SUV that does your heading anyway please put in the comments I would love to know your feedback but for now I'm going to head on back to Lakes by you and grab some food cuz I'm absolutely starving but I hope you enjoyed that if you did give me a thumbs up comments below are always welcome if you haven't done already please subscribe to peted for plenty more content to come and I'll see you on the next film you take care guys guys drive safe\n"
