Bugatti Veyron Vitesse vs Pagani Huayra _ evo DIARIES

**A Rare Encounter: Pagani Huayra BC and Koenigsegg Agera RS**

As I stepped out of my car, I couldn't help but feel a sense of excitement and awe at the two magnificent machines that awaited me. The first car was a Pagani Huayra BC, fresh off the delivery truck and still in its UK showroom. Its sleek design and curved lines seemed to whisper promises of exceptional performance on the road ahead. Meanwhile, my friend's Koenigsegg Agera RS sat patiently beside it, ready to put the Huayra BC through its paces.

**A Day with Two Titans**

My friend had kindly offered to let us borrow his car for a day, and we seized the opportunity to take both machines out on the road. We set off towards the south of France, determined to put these two incredible cars through their paces on some of our favorite roads. With the sun shining down on us, we hit the open road, eager to see how each car would perform.

**The Arrow Flaps: A Unique Feature**

As we drove, I couldn't help but notice the flaps on the front of the Huayra BC. They seemed to pop up and down at random intervals, seemingly for no reason other than to provide additional traction. "I love watching those Arrow flaps work," my friend said with a grin. "It's like they're doing their own thing!" Indeed, it was mesmerizing to watch them deploy, only to retract again moments later.

**A Speed Camera Surprise**

As we approached a speed camera on the side of the road, my friend suddenly accelerated hard, sending us both into a frantic burst of speed. It was exhilarating, and for a moment, I forgot about the cameras watching our every move. "Don't want to give those police officers a portrait of us amongst their collection," he joked.

**The Rush of Power**

As we navigated the twists and turns of the road, both cars responded eagerly to my friend's inputs. The Huayra BC was surprisingly quick off the line, but its power delivery felt somewhat laggy compared to the Agera RS. However, when that front wing deployed, it was like a bomb had gone off. The steering wheel twisted sharply, and I felt like I was driving a high-performance hot hatch.

**Trust and Confidence**

One of the most remarkable things about both cars is the level of trust you can place in them. With the Huayra BC, you know exactly what's happening beneath your feet – it's always under control. In contrast, the Agera RS has a certain je ne sais quoi, a sense that it might step out if you're not careful. But with my friend at the wheel, I trusted him completely, knowing he'd get us through even the most challenging corners.

**The Verdict**

As we finally came to an end of our day on the road, I couldn't help but feel grateful for the experience. It was a rare and special encounter with two of the world's most extraordinary cars. While the video didn't do justice to their true abilities, it gave us a taste of what these machines are capable of – and we can't wait to see them in action again.

**The Cars**

For those who missed the excitement on camera, here are some key specs for each car:

* **Pagani Huayra BC:** 720 horsepower, 0-60 mph in just 2.8 seconds

* **Koenigsegg Agera RS:** 1,340 horsepower, 0-60 mph in just 2.5 seconds

"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enwell last week was quite an amazing week even by Evo standard cuz I spent a week in a Bugatti vitess on the milia did a th000 miles in one and it just got me thinking just the experience of this 1200 horsepower machine over that sort of distance what do you compare it with and on the mimia there was harasu Pagani and he brought a WIA along and I thought well wouldn't it be fun to put those two cars together so on the Sunday following the Mia the idea was put the two cars together and uh see how they compare actually on road then the heavens opened and it poured with rain so badly that we didn't even get a camera out the bag we were gutted that we just couldn't put the two cars together but you find us now in the South France outside the poor Ricard circuit with another Veron VI set the actual car the world record car that we saw at era set a new high-speed record for a topless car of 408 km an hour and this car this is the very first right Drive Pagani wera delivered to the UK and a friend took delivery only last week I phoned him up I said do you mind awle if we borrow your car take it down to the south of France just got a little test planned and here they are two cars together some of our favorite roads this isn't going to be a full video unfortunately because we we've got one day with these cars to experience for the magazine you can read all about it in the next issue of Evo but we have to give you a taste of these two cars together I'm going to shut up now let's get out on the road and just see what they're like just love the way those flaps go up and down when you're fing one you suddenly get memorized because the flaps do suddenly go up for no real reason and it's to gain traction at comes in at about 100 km an hour and then they go down again they just don't really make sense but the car the way it behaves they're certainly doing something and then you see when you're really pressing on the front ones start to work and you just notice them pop up above the Bonnet you say oh I must be driving quite quickly still a great shape to follow there's a speed camera up here I think so um yeah don't want to go too nuts I'm sure the police would quite like a portrait of a vest amongst their collection there it is there's a speed camera and there we are sir driving very sensibly dear me what a great car it's just watching those Arrow flaps work you just don't know what they're going to do next it's even more bizarre driver seat watching guard down in front of you I hope this is helping I really hope it's helping yeah it's when those front ons deploy isn't it sudden gives you a jump oh what's that popping up you know you just see it out the front whoa now that's a rare sight not very often you see another one oh blow me there's another Baron coming along H who would have thought that was amazing absolutely amazing you saw it rigle it was going to get past you but when that hooks up it's cruy quick just quick it just doesn't have that punch that no you get that's the thing I think you don't on a give and take Road that has feels so much faster because it has that wallet that comes in whereas this takes longer but once it's up it just it's so smooth yeah um yeah I kept kept my foot in through the if as long as you keep your foot in through the just kind of stay with it ride it out and it's it's there yeah this thing it would it definitely would have gone past but I would have give that cyclist a heart attack it's not fa don't give cyclist be British about it so I backed out but uh now that's surprising because actually on the road what what's extraordinary about this is It's you know I keep the show it's like it's like a bomb going off when it actually hooks up and you and you just feel the steering wheel twist like you do on a really powerful sort of H hot hatch and it just it's just an overtaking weapon because it it can deploy 1200 horsepower at lowest speeds you know there was not a hint of wheel spin when we're setting off in second you can do it in first while that one when you're coming out the Corners you're always thinking I can't meter all 730 horsepower immediately and then you're on the straight and then you can but you just don't get that instaneous hit as I just you know like the bomb going off with this it's one of those things they always say that sort of a really good driver makes his time from tur to Apex basically or breaking point to Apex that car makes all its time over this from Apex to exit doesn't it because you can't get on the power properly in this and that you just bang gone but then you got to read the turbo lag on this because it is sort of lagging in the corner but then you know you can deploy it you can trust it I like the front end on this I know what's going on it always it always did it's always under so it doesn't really ever have a feeling that it's going to step out unlike that that you really trust the front end and he always he always just manag in the back yeah yeah well there we go well that was fun wasn't it that gave you I hope that gave you a taste of the two cars sorry the video couldn't be longer but what experience to have these two cars together in the beautiful south of France Sunshine there we go over and out yeah all done by the writing Henry exactly yeah great funwell
