Emmy Eats PENNSYLVANIA #2

Hello and welcome back to another episode of Em Eats today I'll be eating the state of Pennsylvania so I received this little package from Little Miss P Miss P thank you so much for sending me this package of treats.

The reason for sending this package was actually that there's been a recent trend of black-dyed foods including macaroni and hot dogs and hot dog buns and burgers, and from my understanding they taste just like how they're supposed to taste except that they are very dark black in color and how they get that color is using this very finely ground bamboo charcoal in very small amounts. Some of you may know about this trend and if you'd like to see a particular black-tinged dish please let me know in the comments below.

Now that I have the charcoal I can make it all right, so let's get back to the task at hand which is to eat Pennsylvania thanks again Miss P for sending this along. Oh, and if you like these videos I should put a playlist down below where you can see previous Em Eats videos. The first thing I'm going to have is Wawa coffee, I have never walked into a WWA, a Wawa is a convenience store that you can find all over Pennsylvania, and what a great name right? So let's brew a cup of coffee since it's just myself, I'm just going to drip a cup usually I use a French press but it's just me after all.

Smells great there it is all ground for my convenience so simple. I'm going to add about a tablespoon and a bit of boiling water so what I like to do is just a little bit to get my grounds wet and happy, and then I top her off. That's probably a little less than a cup of water, so I'm going to let that brew. The reason for brewing is that Wawa coffee needs to be brewed with boiling water to bring out the full flavor.

Now that I have my coffee ready, let me try some Pennsylvania treats. Okay, where do I start? Alright, here's a black-dyed macaroni and cheese, it looks delicious but also a bit intimidating. I'm going to take a bite...Mmm...it tastes just like how you'd expect. Now that I have the bamboo charcoal from Miss P's package, maybe I can use it to make some other treats.

First up is black-dyed hot dog and bun, let me see what this looks like. It's actually not bad, but it's also kind of weird looking. Maybe eating it will help me appreciate its texture better? Yes, the hot dog does taste good and so does the bun! But what about the bamboo charcoal that gave it the black color?

Next up are some black-dyed hot dog buns with a unique twist: crunchy chocolate bits on top. What is this magic trick? And how does it work? Is it just because of the bamboo charcoal again? The bun itself tastes good, but I'm still trying to wrap my head around why Miss P thought we needed bamboo charcoal in our food.

Moving on to black-dyed burgers, there's something satisfying about eating a meal that looks like it was made from science experiments gone wrong. Is this really a Pennsylvania treat or is it just some weird new trend? And yes, the burger tastes great! Maybe I should learn more about what makes these foods so special.

Next up are black-dyed cookies, I love cookies and now they're extra black because of bamboo charcoal. This one looks different from any other cookie I've ever seen before...and it smells great too!

For my last food item in Pennsylvania, I have some black-dyed brownies that also use the magic powder: bamboo charcoal. Who knew brownies could be a thing? And yes, they do taste just as delicious as your typical brownie.

Now that I've eaten all of these black-dyed Pennsylvania foods, it's time to finish off my tasting with some non-black food items that Miss P sent along with the package: Mentos. Ahhh...peppermint Mento goodness in here! There is nothing quite like a good Mento on a hot day.

But wait, there's more! Alongside these are dark chocolate Junior Mints. This is essentially a Milk Dud and a Junior Mint teaming up to give you a delicious combination of creamy caramel and minty freshness all wrapped up together. The flavor is perfect!

Finally, my package includes a small bottle of Underberg, which Miss P claims will help with digestion because it's like a German digestive drink. I've never tried anything like this before.

So now that I have finished eating all the black foods from Pennsylvania along with some yummy other treats and drinks, what should I do next? Well, maybe make something new with bamboo charcoal from Miss P's package...leave me your suggestions down below! And thanks for watching my latest episode of Em Eats! "WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: engreetings my lovelies hi it's Emmy welcome back to another em eats today I'll be eating the state of Pennsylvania so I received this little package from Little Miss P Miss P thank you so much for sending me this package of treats the reason for sending this package was actually this and this is a double bag you can't really see it of bamboo charcoal so some of you may know that there's been a recent trend of black dyed Foods including macaroni and hot dogs and hot dog buns and burgers and from my understanding they taste just how they're supposed to taste except that they are very dark black in color and how they get that color is using this very finely ground bamboo charcoal in very small amounts if you'd like to see a particular black tinged dish please let me know in the comments below what you'd like to see and now that I have the charcoal I can make it all right so let's get back to the task at hand which is to eat pencilvania thanks again miss P for sending this along oh and if you like these videos I should put a playlist down below where you can can see previous em eats videos the first thing I'm going to have is this and this is Wawa coffee I have never walked into a WWA a Wawa is a convenient store that you can find all over Pennsylvania and what a great name right so let's brew a cup of coffee since it's just myself I'm just going to drip a cup usually I use a French press but it's just me after all smells great there it is all ground for my convenience so simple I'm going to add a tablespoon about about a table tablespoon and a bit of boiling water so what I like to do is just a little bit to get my grounds wet and happy and then I top her off that's probably a little less than a cup of water so I'm going to let that Brew so the reason why I made my coffee first is because Miss P sent me a bunch of sweets let's start with these look at that isn't that delightful so this is made by the ashers company and it's a very old choler not just old according to miss P it is the oldest they're from satton PA they're actually a year older than Hershey's well let me check on my coffee oh perfect see what's inside oh somehow I thought they'd be rainbow but they're not they're just little animals let's see what I got I think that's a tiger maybe that's a bison oh maybe that's a bison two bison what else do we got I like how they're kind of generalized now that they're coated in chocolate a camel that's definitely a camel that's a lion I think uh I think that's some steer mhm ooh not sure what that one is zebra mhm I call that a zebra is there a giraffe I don't see a giraffe anywhere oh oh a burrow yep hit the doy MS mhm and that's delicious lovely milk chocolate on the outside nice crunchy snack the cookie in the inside is the animal cracker that's more of like a biscuit rather than the cookie kind and it's not tinged with that lemon flavor tastes like vanilla in my opinion perfect combination with chocolate now that my coffee is brewed let's give that a taste wow yum yum yum yum this is a little bit dangerous be having coffee this late in the day but would in room that is nice nice and smooth now let have it with cookie when you dip the cookie into the coffee Heavenly it warms up the chocolate so it slightly melts it and then you bite it and you get the crunchy cookie in the middle and it's not too sweet love that and I drink my coffee black so it's just perfect sweetness bitterness it's not overly assertive I feel like some coffees are like kind of boss you around and like like question your manliness and just like listen it's early I don't want to be questioned I just want some caffeine thanks let's try another sweet next these little guys and these are called sweet balls spelled with a z and these are cooking and cream cake balls almost looks like a truffle let's cut it in the middle and see oh that's hard I was going to cut it so you could see what's inside but it's hard so something tells me that that's not supposed to be that texture I think maybe these were supposed to be refrigerated or something these are pretty hard and very very crumbly they taste a little bit like fabric softener so I think they must have absorbed flavors somewhere weird maybe I had this package sitting too long at the post office H Seed face oh but I got coffee next dime I have is this and these are ashers again chocolate covered potato chips wow I love it I love how it maintains the look of potato chips and they use ruffle or Ridge potato chip you see that it almost looks like a wood fungus or something very very chocolatey with a little bit of a crunch in the middle and a definite potato flavor but I think what I like most is the texture you get kind of a melty chocolate on the outside and you still have that potato chip crunch in the middle mhm and the salt is really great goes really well with the chocolate and this is underberg it's actually a German product and it's like a digestive I think she just sent it to me just because she thought I found it interesting supposed to help with digestion well now that I have a lot of chocolate this is probably a good thing right look at this it's almost like a mini bottle of wor sauce love it nice little facets on the bottle there's a logo on top you're not supposed to just sip it you're supposed to chug it so here we go come by woo so I drank about half of that and I think I'll leave it at that I can see why they ask you to chug it it has alcohol in it so it gives that kind of cool burning sensation as it goes down your throat throat I don't particularly care for the flavor tastes very medicinal little cough syrupy because it's a little bit sweet but the predominant flavor is Anis not my favorite Anis and licorice so it's a bit like Jagermeister but there's a little bit of Menthol in there though so it finishes with kind of a kind of icy cool feeling yeah not bad I'm going to finish with this last item right here and these two are not specific to Pennsylvania but they're Mentos I think Miss included these because she knows my love for mint chocolate I love Mentos by the way Mentos is just plain peppermint I always try to have some in my purse because I just love them so much as just a yummy breath freshener come on let's be serious they don't really freshen your breath that much they're just minty chewy deliciousness they look a little bit fatter and more rotund than a typical Mento whoa excuse my tube Mark that tastes like if a Milk Dud and a junior mint got together you to get that you get the chewy sticky caramel from the milk Dud but then you get that dark chocolate peppermint from the junior Min totally what this is great combination but somehow it doesn't seem like a Mento because it doesn't have that crackly shell on the outside all right so that wraps up my little tasting of Pennsylvania thanks again miss P for sending me this package I can't wait to make something with the bamboo charcoal please leave me suggestions down below what I should make with it I hope you guys enjoy that I hope you guys learned something don't forget to share this video with your
