Samsung Ativ Smart PC Hands On - Windows 8 Hybrid Tablet PC

**Introduction to Samsung Smart PC Pro**

I recently had the opportunity to check out the Samsung 8 smart PC at the Samsung 2013 Forum, and I'm excited to share my experience with you. The device I have is an Atom version, but there's also a variant available with an I5 processor. As I took a closer look at the tablet, I was impressed by its sleek design and features that make it a great Windows 8 PC.

**Design and Display**

One of the standout features of this tablet is its lightweight design for a 10-inch screen. The Atom version has a resolution of 1333x768, which may seem old compared to other devices available in the market. However, the I5 variant boasts a full HD screen with a resolution of 1920x1080. Despite the difference in display quality, both versions still offer a great viewing experience. Additionally, the device features an 8MP camera with FL (front-facing) and rear-facing cameras for taking stunning photos.

**Keyboard and Docking**

Another impressive feature of this tablet is its keyboard compatibility. You can dock the keyboard to use it like a normal laptop, which is a fantastic option for productivity on-the-go. The good news is that you don't need to connect the keyboard via wires; simply place it in the designated docking area, and the device will automatically connect. This makes it easy to use as a tablet or laptop, depending on your preferences.

**Operating System**

One of the most significant advantages of this tablet is its operating system. Unlike some other Windows 8 devices that run the RT (Reduced Trust) version of Windows, this smart PC Pro uses Intel Atom processors and runs the 32-bit edition of Windows. This means you can enjoy seamless performance with your native applications, without any compromises.

**RAM Upgradability**

The device comes equipped with 2GB of RAM, which is a relatively modest amount for a modern computer. However, I'm pleased to note that the RAM is not upgradable on this particular model. While it may seem limiting, the Atom processor helps to offset some of the performance gains.

**Battery Life**

According to Samsung's claims, the tablet has a battery life of around 10 hours with an Atom processor and 8 hours with an I5 processor. While this may not be as long-lasting as other devices available in the market, it's still respectable for a Windows 8 PC.

**Additional Features**

The Samsung Smart PC Pro also comes with an S Pen, which is similar to those found on Samsung Galaxy Note devices. This feature adds an extra layer of functionality to the device, making it perfect for creative professionals and power users.

**Conclusion**

Overall, I'm impressed by the Samsung Smart PC Pro's unique blend of features and performance. Whether you're looking for a compact laptop or a powerful tablet, this device has something to offer. With its sleek design, impressive display quality, and user-friendly interface, it's definitely worth considering if you're in the market for a new Windows 8 PC.

"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enthis is Ranjit and I had the chance to check out the Samsung 8 smart PC at the Samsung 2013 Forum so let's have a look at the same the one I have is atom and I have to say the good thing about this tablet is it's relatively pretty light for a 10 in and this is the atum version the resolution of the screen is 1333x 768 we also get it in the I5 the I5 has a full HD screen but again even the atum the performance looks good and it's a Windows 8 tablet and the good thing is that you do get this keyboard and you can dock it and then use it like a normal laptop and the good thing is it's not a crippled version of Windows you get the full desktop app so you can run your native applications on the same and also we do get this S Pen that we have seen in Samsung Galaxy Note 2 Etc so this is an additional thing that we get so inting concept by Samsung uh so this is the artive Windows 8 PC so how do you connect this thing to to the keyboard is it something like we need to connect with the wires no you just dock it here in you have the dock here and it gets connected so it's more like a plug-in play yeah it's more like a plug-in Play device that's it it's done like other PCS what we have seen dogs it doesn't add battery life but they say that it has 10 hours of battery life so now this becomes a laptop yeah you can use it like a laptop and the good thing I like about it is it's not running uh the RT crippled version of Windows 88 that's armed so it's running an Intel art so hopefully it'll be able to run all the windows applications that we have so the OS currently is pro not pro I don't think so one second let's look at it so as you can see it's running the atom CPU that's a z 2760 clocked at 1.8 GHz it has 2 GB of RAM is RAM upgradable on this one or no so you get just 2 GB of RAM and it runs the 32 bit edition of Windows not the 64 battery and what's the rated battery life uh with the tablet using Atom Processor it's giving you around 10 hours with for i5 processor it will be around 8 hours so uh just the processor part has changed everything else is the same no where with the smart PC Pro you're getting uh that is with the I5 processor yeah i5 processor with the 10 finger multi- touchcreen with 19202 1080 full HD resolution so this is 1336 768 resolution with five finger touch okay and it has 8 m camera with FL also we do have a front facing camera and a rear facing camera for this so interesting tablet from Samsung if you are a Windows user have a look at the samethis is Ranjit and I had the chance to check out the
